Chapter 257 Find a Place to Bury

The next morning.

Cecily didn't know when she fell asleep last night, but when she woke up in the morning, there was no one beside her.

"Darian?" She tentatively called out.

No one responded to her. She abruptly sat up and looked around the room but couldn't see Darian anywhere. Clean clothes were placed on the sofa by the French windows. Cecily rubbed her forehead. Clearly, Darian had left again. He really intended for her to stay here for a while.

Cecily had no choice but to go to the bathroom to freshen up and change into clean clothes. She took a deep breath and suppressed her restless emotions.

Then, she went downstairs.

The boss and his wife had prepared breakfast as usual and called Cecily to come over and eat.

"Cecily, come over here quickly." After spending the day together yesterday, Kiera had become quite familiar with her and called her Cecily affectionately.

Cecily walked over. "Good morning, Kiera."

"Morning. Sit down and have your breakfast," Kiera said.

Cecily accepted the cutlery Kiera handed to her and politely thanked her.

"Cecily, you and your husband seem to have a good relationship. He came to see you so late last night, and we thought someone important had arrived," Kiera said while eating and chatting with Cecily.

Cecily paused slightly. "Kiera, he's actually not my husband."

"Boyfriend?"

"Ex-husband!"

Kiera blinked her eyes. She probably never expected that a couple who seemed so in love would actually be divorced. Her face showed a hint of shock.

"You got divorced? Why? Did he cheat on you? Your husband, oh sorry, ex-husband, is so handsome and rich. He must have women around him all the time."

When women talk about how attractive their husbands are, their tone inexplicably becomes indignant.

"Just eat your food. Where are all these questions coming from?" The boss stuffed an egg into Kiera's hand.

Kiera realized she had said too much and awkwardly laughed, "I spoke too much. Let's not talk about it anymore. Cecily, eat up."

Cecily pursed her lips lightly. "It's okay."

After breakfast, Cecily grabbed a lounge chair and lay outside to bask in the sun. Life looked peaceful and leisurely, but her heart wasn't as calm.

She was sunbathing because she had nothing else to do. She closed her eyes, and in her mind, she repeatedly reviewed recent events.

"You seem quite free," a familiar voice sounded.

Cecily immediately opened her eyes, took off her sunglasses, and focused her gaze on the man sitting beside her, whom she didn't know when he had arrived.

Cecily sat up and looked at the man's tall and straight figure lazily leaning against the chair.

The warm sunlight fell on his handsome and alluring face, casting a bright and warm hue. However, his aura remained chilling.

Cecily glanced around and then returned her gaze to the man.

"When did you get here?"

She neither heard the sound of a car nor the sound of footsteps, yet someone was sitting beside her.

"When you're sighing and contemplating life," Blaise chuckled with a teasing tone.

Cecily raised an eyebrow, "I've been here for a while now?"

"Yes, I've been here for a while," he replied.

Cecily paused for a moment and had a hopeful thought, "Can you take me back to Stellaris Bay?"

"No, I can't," he firmly refused.

A sense of disappointment washed over Cecily's face.

"Isn't it good to stay here? Everything can be taken care of for you," Blaise picked up a coffee cup from the small coffee table next to him.

Cecily leaned back, and even though Blaise said that, she knew deep down that this matter wouldn't be resolved so easily.

"In that case, I might as well be a useless person, not doing anything and going crazy."

She had no idea about the current situation outside or how things had progressed. She started feeling anxious.

"Why don't you tell me about the progress of this accident? How is it now?" she asked.

"What else can it be? Mr. Fitzgerald wants the police to convict you, and Darian is handling it. Staying here is safer than being outside. Not only is Mr. Fitzgerald looking for you, but there are also other people inquiring about your situation," he replied.

Cecily furrowed her brow slightly and looked at him, "Other people? Do you know who they are?"

"We're still investigating, but it's not easy. Why do you seem to attract so much attention?" Blaise sipped his coffee slowly, holding the cup steadily.

Cecily grabbed a pillow from behind her and hugged it against her chest, supporting her chin. She let out a deep sigh, "Why don't you just bury me? I'm tired."

Cecily forced a bitter smile.

Who did she offend that made everyone so concerned about her?

Blaise laughed, "Good idea. I'll find a good place for you and let you know."

He stood up and seemed ready to leave.

"You're just going to leave like this?" Cecily straightened up.

"Do you want me to stay and chat with you a little longer?"

"Goodbye."

Cecily saw that no one intended to take her away and pulled a blanket to cover her face.

Blaise didn't hesitate. He left gracefully.

Cecily took a deep breath and exhaled, feeling that she couldn't close her eyes without figuring out these matters.

At noon, Kiera noticed Cecily's bored expression and decided to take her to explore the nearby small town.

But the reason Cecily had a sour face was because she had a lot on her mind. When someone has too many concerns, their mood easily worsens.

Cecily didn't want to bring her bad mood to Kiera, so she put on a smile and went out with her. The boss didn't know where he found two bikes and helped them carry them onto the bike path.

Kiera tapped the bike and asked her, "Can you ride?"

Cecily looked at the bike in front of her and said, "It's been a while, but no problem."

"Let's go then. Your husband took our car," Kiera referred to Darian as Cecily's husband out of habit and didn't change her words, awkwardly smiling. "Your ex-husband took it, so we can only ride this."

Cecily sat on the bike and said, "Let's go." Although they couldn't ride back, it was better than not being able to go out at all. Kiera was obviously familiar with this place, and Cecily followed Kiera as they rode along the beach. The weather was nice today, and Cecily's mood improved a lot.

The coastal town here was quite far from the boss's hotel, which was located in a remote area. The wind tousled Cecily's hair a bit, and she looked at Kiera beside her and asked, "Kiera, did you open the hotel so far away for peace and quiet?"

Kiera nodded and said, "Both my husband and I like peace and quiet. Opening a hotel was mainly to find something to do. We're not short of money anyway, so we just wanted to be free and relaxed."

Both the boss and Kiera were quite unique individuals. Cecily smiled and said, "I envy you. I can tell that you live a happy life."

Kiera's lips curled up slightly. "You will be happy too. Your ex-husband actually loves you a lot. That kind of love that fills the eyes can't be faked. I hope you two can reconcile in the future. You will definitely be happy."

Cecily pursed her lips and chuckled. "Thank you. I'll borrow your kind words."

After riding for over two hours, they rode leisurely and didn't feel tired since there was nothing else to do. The town faced the sea, and no towering buildings were in sight. Many buildings looked very cozy, and the locals seemed to have a carefree happiness.
