Chapter 394 He Lost His Memory, Understand
Jennifer's eyes gleamed with a dark light. "Of course not. Why should we leave? Don't worry. We haven't lost yet. They won't be smug for long."
"But today Darian was so good to Cecily. Did he remember something?"
"No." Jennifer shook her head and said, "If Darian really remembered Cecily, considering how protective he was of her before, do you think we would have walked out so easily today?"
Jennifer, having more experience, saw things more clearly than Freya.
"That's good." Freya breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Darian hadn't remembered Cecily, she still had a chance.
"Mom, you always advised me not to rush things with Darian, to take it slow. But now you see, Cecily is back, and Darian is so good to her. If I don't hurry, there will be no place for me by his side."
Freya stomped her foot in frustration.
Jennifer pondered for a moment. "I was too indecisive before, afraid that rushing would annoy Darian. I didn't expect..."
Jennifer shook her head.
She hadn't expected that after all her efforts to place Freya by Darian's side for a year, Darian still treated Freya like air.
Jennifer was also anxious. "It seems we need to plan for the long term."
"Mom, if I have a sex with Darian, he would have to take responsibility for me. Besides, Owen doesn't like Cecily. He even tried to match me with Darian before."
Jennifer was startled and asked, "Are you planning to drug Darian?"
A shy expression flashed across Freya's face, and she nodded.
"No, if Darian were that easy to deal with, he would have married another woman long ago. This method is too risky. If we get caught, we will truly anger Darian."
Freya looked frustrated. "Then what should I do? Is there really no way?"
"There will always be a way. We need to go back and plan carefully. Right now, we need to think about how to stay by Bryan's side."
"They wanted to drive us away? No way!"
The living room fell silent.
After a night of turmoil, Vivienne was exhausted and looked unwell.
Cecily moved closer to Vivienne and supported her. "Mom, you don't look well. What's wrong?"
Vivienne patted Cecily's hand reassuringly. "It's nothing. I'mjust a bit tired. It's getting late. Everyone should go back."
Evander stood up politely. "I'll come to see you another day."
Vivienne nodded. "Alright, take care on your way back."
Vivienne asked the servant to see Evander out and then looked at Darian, who was still standing. "You should go back too. Cecily, stay with me."
"Mom, I know. I won't leave." Cecily would stay with Vivienne even without her saying so.
Cecily glanced at Darian and said, "You should go back. Drive safely."
Darian looked at Cecily.
Cecily waved her hand, saying goodbye to Darian.
Seeing that Darian's gaze hadn't left her, she looked at him again and asked, "Are you reluctant to leave?"
Darian indeed felt a bit reluctant.
Last night, his house suddenly had a wife and two children.
Tonight, they were gone.
The empty villa would only have him, and the psychological gap was quite large.
"When do you plan to come back?"
Cecily teased with a smile. "Do you miss me?"
Darian smiled lightly. "If I say I do, will you come back with me?"
"No, I want to stay with my mom. You were fine without me before, weren't you?"
"That's different."
Darian looked at Cecily's beautiful face, his eyes filled with emotions he couldn't even explain.
"What's different?"
"Everything is different."
Before, he didn't know about her and the children. Now that he knew, their sudden separation made him feel very uncomfortable.
"Enough, stop arguing here," Vivienne interrupted coldly, looking at Darian. "When you remember Cecily and your family accepts her, then I'll let you take her back. Otherwise, I'll take care of her for a lifetime. Someone, see Mr. Darian out."
Cecily wanted to say something, but Vivienne forcibly pulled her upstairs.
Cecily looked back at Darian, who indeed seemed a bit lonely and desolate standing there.
"Still looking?" Vivienne gently tapped Cecily's forehead.
Cecily smiled lightly. "Mom, he lost his memory. Please try to understand him."
"That can't be an excuse. You just stay here with the children. It's not too late to go back once everything is settled."
"Everything settled? Mom, you mean when he regains his memory, Mr. Patrick's death is clarified, and Owen accepts me, then I can go back with Darian?"
Vivienne nodded. "What else? Should I let you go back to suffer?"
"But what if he never remembers?"
"Then you find another man. He's not the only man in the world. Evander just now seemed quite good." Vivienne elegantly sat down on the single sofa in the room, poured a glass of water, and took a slow sip.
Cecily tugged at the corner of her mouth. "Mom, Evander and I are just friends. Don't play matchmaker."
"I know. I was just saying." Cecily was her daughter, and Vivienne understood her temperament. If she didn't like someone, Vivienne couldn't force it.
"What about Blaise? Who often came to scold you?"
Cecily choked on her water. "Blaise, who often came to scold me? Your impression of him is that he often came to scold me?"
"Yes, he always had to scold you a few times whenever he came. But I could tell he cared about you, which is why he couldn't help but scold you. You deserved it, hiding the surgery from everyone who loved and cared about you, and only telling us afterward, deceiving everyone."
Cecily looked at Vivienne and forced a smile.
Vivienne was indeed her real mother.
After chatting with Vivienne for a while, Cecily found an excuse to check on Rowan and Griffin.
That night, Aurelie wanted to stay and sleep with Cecily, and Cecily didn't refuse.
Early the next morning, Sandra contacted Cecily, saying she missed Rowan and Griffin and wanted to see them.
Cecily also had something to ask Owen, so she agreed to take them to the Fitzgerald family in the evening.
At the Fitzgerald estate.
Cecily got out of the car with her children, and Sandra was already waiting at the door.
Seeing Rowan and Griffin, Sandra's eyes lit up, and she instructed the servant to push her over. "Rowan and Griffin, come here and let me have a good look at you."
Rowan and Griffin held Cecily's hand, unwilling to step forward, and only looked at Sandra politely, saying, "Grandma."
It was polite but distant.
Sandra's outstretched hand froze in mid-air, her eyes showing a hint of disappointment.
Seeing this, Cecily gently tugged Rowan and Griffin's little hands and said, "Rowan and Griffin, Grandma has missed you so much. You miss her too, right?"
Rowan and Griffin, always smart, immediately understood Cecily's meaning.
Sandra looked at them expectantly, and the little ones were willing to step forward, each leaning on one side of Sandra. "Grandma, we missed you too."
Sandra's eyes filled with tears, and she leaned in to hug them. "Rowan and Griffin, youhave grown taller."
Sandra had been reluctant to let Cecily take the children away, but because of Owen, she didn't even dare to visit them.
"Come in and sit."
Cecily nodded lightly and walked to Sandra's side.
"Darian will come over later. I heard you moved back to your mother's place?"
