Chapter 194 Either Leave the Country or Die
She not only wanted HER to leave but also wanted her to leave behind her two sons.
Cecily lowered her gaze, a hint of coldness flickering in her eyes.
Offering her generous conditions, sending her abroad, and leaving behind Darian and her two sons were the prices.
But, sorry, she didn't value his help and was absolutely not going to leave her children behind.
"What if I refuse?"
"Then you become my enemy."
Cecily watched as the car accelerated toward a remote location.
"So, I only have two choices today, either leave the country or die, is that right?"
"Correct," nodded Owen.
Owen didn't think there was anything wrong with this. He had already offered generous conditions, and if she didn't agree, he would make her disappear completely.
Cecily leaned back, "I don't think you will kill me."
"Oh? Why? Tell me," Owen became interested.
"Because I am still useful to you."
Owen didn't say anything, signaling her to continue.
"The reason you want to kill me is because I hold a certain weight in Darian's heart. You won't allow your grandson to be distracted by a woman."
"But it is precisely because I hold a certain weight that you need me to balance, Darian, isn't it? If I die, will Darian still listen to you?"
Owen's expression changed, feeling like Cecily had seen through his thoughts.
"Why do you think you hold weight in Darian's heart? Aren't you too confident?"
"If not, you wouldn't have come looking for me today, would you?"
Owen didn't answer, silently acknowledging it.
Cecily continued, "And..."
"And what?"
Cecily raised an eyebrow, her gaze falling on the rearview mirror ahead.
The next moment, the driver in front said, "Owen, it seems like Mr. Fitzgerald's car is catching up from behind."
Owen's expression completely darkened, "Is this the reason you dare to get in the car directly?"
Because she saw Darian's car coming around?
Cecily shook her head, "I just saw it."
After getting in this car, Cecily was also afraid of what Owen might do to her, so she had to constantly observe her surroundings. Even if the negotiations failed in the end, she would at least have a chance to escape.
Seeing Darian's car was because his car was eye-catching and easy to notice.
However, she didn't expect him to catch up.
Did he tell Owen's intentions and didn't want her to be killed by Owen?
"So what if Darian comes? I am his grandfather. If I want you dead, not even he can stop me."
"Is it worth it to quarrel with your proud grandson over someone as insignificant as me?"
Upon hearing Cecily's words, Owen paused for a moment before bursting into laughter. "You truly are the person I personally selected. You are very clever."
"No, I am not clever. If I were clever, I wouldn't have held any illusions about someone who didn't love me back then, and I wouldn't have ended up like this now."
"Are you regretting it?"
"No regrets. At least now I have two children, don't I?"
When Cecily suddenly mentioned the two children, Owen's eyelid twitched.
Cecily fixed her cold gaze firmly on Owen. "The children are everything to me now. I hope you understand that if anyone tries to take them away, I won't show any mercy.
Owen's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Are you warning me?"
Cecily's expressionless face gained a hint of a smile. "How dare I? Just a reminder."
"Whoosh—"
The speeding car suddenly came to a halt.
Owen didn't react in time, his whole body leaning forward, about to crash into the front seat.
Cecily reached out her hand, steadying herself while also supporting Owen.
Owen leaned back in his seat, his complexion turning unpleasant for a moment.
Once he regained his composure, he glanced at Cecily sideways.
Cecily withdrew her hand.
Owen's deep eyes lingered on her for a moment, a brief moment of confusion.
Cecily's face remained cold and guarded.
"Why did you help me?"
"Previously at Fitzgerald's Family, you also helped me. Although I don't know what I did wrong to make you dislike me later on, you still helped me in the end. Consider it repayment."
A dark expression flashed in Owen's eyes as he muttered to himself, "It's not your fault."
He knew it wasn't her fault, but he had lost his son and couldn't find the culprit for the time being. All he could do was direct his hatred toward the culprit's daughter.
Although Owen's voice was not loud, Cecily still heard it.
Cecily looked up and saw a man walking toward her from the front of the car.
He walked quickly and urgently, getting closer and closer. The car door was opened, a cool air rushed in, and he grabbed Cecily's arm and pulled her out of the car.
His deep eyes, filled with anger, fell on Owen's face.
"Grandpa, you've gone too far," his voice was neither light nor heavy but full of oppression.
Owen coughed a few times, covered his mouth with a handkerchief, and chuckled after recovering, "Darian, it's you who went too far."
Looking at how nervous he was at the moment, it seemed as if she would disappear if he was a second late.
Seeing Darian's nervousness about Cecily, he couldn't even close his eyes peacefully, even if he died today.
Darian furrowed his brows and glanced at the driver, "Take my grandpa back to rest."
After speaking, Darian directly grabbed Cecily's hand and pulled her toward his car, then pushed her into the car.
Darian slammed the car door and got into the car from the other side.
Owen watched the car leaving, covering his chest and coughing a few times.
Sawyer nervously looked at Owen, "Sir, are you okay?"
Owen raised his hand to indicate that he was fine, took a deep breath, and said helplessly, "Go back."
Inside the car, a layer of cold frost enveloped Darian's eyebrows. He turned his head and glanced at the woman beside him, "Did he threaten you?"
"No, he offered favorable conditions for me to make me leave with the children from Silver Frost Capital."
"And then?"
Cecily smiled gently, "I agreed."
Darian clenched the steering wheel, his slender fingers clearly showing the bone structure.
The small carriage was instantly filled with coldness.
Cecily could feel the speed of the car increasing.
Darian asked with a cold face, "Does this happen to align with your thoughts? Are you that desperate to keep your distance from me."
