Chapter 351 Patrick's Death Was Not An Accident

Cecily swallowed the oatmeal in her mouth and asked, "Are you whispering secrets?"

Darian handed the peeled egg to Cecily. "It's about Eliza."

"Alright."

Cecily had promised Darian not to interfere with Eliza's matters anymore, leaving everything to him. She didn't want to burden herself with it.

"I don't want to eat the egg; you eat it."

"I don't eat breakfast."

"Don't be like that, eat it." Cecily frowned, speaking with concern.

Darian didn't say anything further. With gentle eyes, he obediently ate the egg.

Freya was about to step forward but was stopped by Jennifer, who whispered, "What are you doing?"

Freya glanced at her mother and had to suppress her thoughts for now.

Knowing they were not welcome here, Jennifer spoke briefly to Bryan and tactfully left with Freya.

"Mom, why is that man so good to a blind person like Cecily?" Freya muttered discontentedly as they left.

Jennifer gave a cold smile. "Because they were once married."

"But now Cecily is just a blind woman. I don't believe the Fitzgerald family would like such a mistress. If Cecily can become Darian's wife, then I'm even more suitable."

Last night, when she saw Darian at the Bennett family, she thought he was incredibly handsome.

After learning his identity, Freya made up her mind to win this man.

The wife of the future heir of the Fitzgerald family—this title suited her.

"You're right. If Cecily remains blind, the Fitzgerald family would never accept her. It's humiliating to have a blind person represent them."

Freya smiled. "And judging by last night's situation, Darian's father wouldn't let Cecily return either."

"That's true, but this matter can't be rushed. You also need to be smart in dealing with your Uncle Bryan. Now that Vivienne has found her daughter and he has feelings for Vivienne, he might extend his affection to her daughter as well."

"He clearly favors me the most," Freya snorted, her voice full of pride.

"Yes, who wouldn't favor my clever, capable, and sweet-talking daughter?"

Freya smiled coquettishly. "Darian will surely be mine. Mom, you must step up and make Uncle Bryan thoroughly disappointed in Vivienne. Once she's gone, you'll be the only woman by his side. You'll be his wife sooner or later. Let's see who dares to look down on us then."

Jennifer shook her head. "Driving her away is easy, but getting Bryan to marry me is hard."

Over the years, Jennifer had come to understand Bryan's feelings for Vivienne.

No matter how much they fought, Bryan would never marry another woman.

Otherwise, she would have already been his wife.

Jennifer sighed, looking at Freya. "Freya, there's no hope for me to marry your Uncle Bryan, but you must fight for the title of Mrs. Fitzgerald. My daughter is definitely better than Vivienne's daughter. You must trample them underfoot for me."

Freya felt a surge of confidence at her mother's words. "Don't worry, Mom. I will make you proud."

Jennifer smiled with relief. "I haven't doted on you all these years for nothing."

After breakfast, Cecily wanted to spend some time alone with Vivienne.

Darian gave them space, and Bryan said nothing.

It was the first time in years they had spoken so closely. Looking into Cecily's eyes, Vivienne felt heartbroken.

"Cecily, tell me about these past years. Were the Watson family people unkind to you?"

Cecily squeezed Vivienne's hand and said, "Mom, even if things were difficult for me before, that's all in the past. Now that you're back, everything will be alright."

Vivienne held back her tears. "Yes, as long as we're together, everything will get better."

"But Mom, before Eliza became the Fitzgerald family's adopted daughter, she was with the Wright family. How could she be Raphael's daughter?"

Vivienne wasn't surprised at all. "Raphael and I originally had a marriage of convenience. I provided him with money and power, helping the Watson family ascend into high society, in exchange for a proper marriage and to have you."

"And Eliza's true identity shouldn't surprise you. Raphael had many affairs over the years, several illegitimate children are only natural. I knew all about them back then, but you were young, so I didn't tell you."

So that's how it is. Given the circumstances, it's not surprising that she isn't Raphael's biological daughter.

"Mom, then who is my biological father?"

After Cecily asked this question, Vivienne was silent for a moment. "Do you really want to know who your biological father is?"

Cecily sensed a faint sadness in Vivienne's voice.

Perhaps it was something she didn't want to talk about.

"No," Cecily shook her head. "As long as you're by my side, it doesn't matter if I have a father or not."

Vivienne gave a bitter smile.

"Mom, let's not talk about this. Let me tell you something happy." Cecily changed the subject.

"What is it?"

"You're a grandmother now. I have two babies now, Rowan and Griffin. They are both very well-behaved. You must meet them when you have the chance. They will be so happy to see you."

Cecily's face was full of gentle smiles when she mentioned the two children.

Vivienne's eyes lit up. "Really?"

"Really."

"That's wonderful." Vivienne cried tears of joy. "Congratulations, Cecily. It's a pity I wasn't there when you had your babies. I'm really sorry."

Cecily smiled softly. Yes, it would have been nice to have family by her side back then.

Unfortunately, there was no one.

But fortunately, she met Blaise.

"It's all in the past, Mom. Let's not talk about unhappy things." Cecily gently patted Vivienne's back.

"But Cecily, I checked your recent years a few days ago and didn't find any information about your children. How is that possible?"

Logically, that shouldn't be the case.

"A lot happened back then. For some unavoidable reasons, I had my friend help me hide the fact that I had children. Also, one of the children was with Darian, so it's normal that you didn't find out."

At that time, to prevent Darian from discovering she had children, she had Blaise use some means to hide Griffin's existence.

Vivienne looked at Cecily, realizing how difficult it must have been for her to even hide her children.

"Mom, I should be returning to Silver Frost Capital soon. My children can't be away from me for too long. Would you like to stay with me in Silver Frost Capital for a while?"

Vivienne really wanted to see her two grandsons and wasn't comfortable with Cecily going back in her current state. She had already planned to go to Silver Frost Capital.

"I will go to Silver Frost Capital, but I can't stay with you. I'll arrange my own place to stay."

"That's fine." Cecily leaned against Vivienne, softly resting in her embrace. "Mom, about you and Darian's father..."

Vivienne sighed deeply. "It's a long story. I'll tell you slowly when there's time. But don't listen to the rumors outside. His father and I were just friends."

"Mom, I don't think his death was just an accident."

Vivienne frowned And said, "What do you mean?"

"Last night at the banquet, when Eliza was talking to you, she unconsciously mentioned that the car lost control. I think the Fitzgerald family's cars are regularly checked and maintained. How could it suddenly lose control?"
