Chapter 662 Preparing for the Wedding

"Hey, Cecily," Desmond called out as he walked over.

"Desmond, what's up?" Cecily asked, a bit concerned.

Desmond handed her a document. "Vivienne wanted you to have this. It's a 15% share of the company."

Cecily took the document and skimmed through it. It was a share transfer agreement for Bennett Group. Vivienne had already done all the paperwork; all Cecily needed to do was sign it to make it official.

She looked at the agreement and couldn't help but smile bitterly. What was Vivienne up to? First, she wanted Cecily to get involved with the company, and now she was handing over shares, all while being MIA.

It seemed like Vivienne had planned everything before she vanished. These moves made Cecily's mind race.

"Got it," Cecily said, accepting the shares. "Did she say anything else?"

Desmond shook his head. "Nope, that's all she said."

The hope in Cecily's eyes faded, and she nodded. "Okay."

Desmond watched her head upstairs, stepping aside with a helpless shake of his head. Darian noticed Desmond's expression and frowned.

Back in her room, Cecily tossed the company shares onto the table and headed to the bathroom for a shower.

Those shares were worth billions, but Cecily didn't care. Anyone else would be over the moon, but all she wanted was for Vivienne to come back and be a real mom, to talk problems out and solve them together, just like normal mothers and daughters.

Vivienne probably thought giving Cecily everything she had would make up for the past, but it just hurt Cecily more.

When Cecily came out of the shower, Darian was sitting on the bedroom sofa, scrolling through his phone.

Hearing her, he got up, grabbed the hairdryer, and started drying her hair.

Cecily smelled like fresh body wash, and the hairdryer buzzed softly. Darian's hand gently moved through her hair.

Looking at the share transfer agreement, Cecily sighed. "Does Vivienne think giving me everything will make up for it?"

She didn't want shares or a company. She just wanted Vivienne by her side.

Why did she always get things she didn't want, and lose the things she desperately needed?

Her heart ached with disappointment and sadness.

Cecily lowered her eyes.

Darian paused for a moment. He had felt the same way before, thinking he could make up for things with gifts. But it only eased his own guilt, not hers.

"She'll come back. You just have to wait," Darian said, continuing to dry her hair.

Cecily sighed softly.

She felt like Vivienne wouldn't come back this time.

Darian finished drying her hair, put the hairdryer aside, and gently pulled her into his arms. "Vivienne will come back. You're getting married; she has no reason not to."

"Getting married?" Cecily asked.

Darian nodded. "Yes, and we'll have a wedding."

Darian hadn't given her a proper wedding yet, but he hadn't forgotten.

It had been delayed because of Nathaniel and Aurelie's issues.

But no matter what, Darian was determined to give Cecily that wedding.

When they first got married, there was no wedding. Now that they were remarried, it was a must.

Cecily didn't care about the wedding itself. Their kids were already grown, and what mattered was their happiness as a family.

But now that Darian mentioned it, she started to look forward to it.

"When will it be?" Cecily asked, a hint of excitement in her eyes.

Darian patted her head. "As soon as possible."

"Okay," Cecily nodded, feeling a bit relieved.

Darian gently comforted her. He wasn't sure if Vivienne would come back for the wedding, but he would do everything he could to find her and make it happen.

The next day, Cecily went to the company. She couldn't just show up for one day and quit.

Unfortunately, she ran into Hunter and Keaen in the elevator. Cecily greeted them politely.

Out of some lingering family sentiment, they didn't ignore her and smiled back.

Keaen looked her up and down. "Are you really planning to stay here long-term? Does Mr. Fitzgerald agree?"
