Chapter 219 Cecily Woke Up, Darian Went Mad
Eliza's brow furrowed as she glanced upstairs. Owen stood there, nodding to indicate she could leave; he would handle things. Eliza departed without a word.
The servant, momentarily stunned, realized Darian had been searching for Cecily. As he moved to follow, Owen called him into the study.
As Eliza exited, Darian returned from outside. Sitting in the car, he gazed out, almost seeing a familiar figure, causing a pang in his chest.
But soon, the figure vanished into the darkness. Darian withdrew his gaze, a sardonic smile playing on his lips.
Since Cecily's departure, everyone seemed to resemble her in his eyes.
Where was Cecily now?
And who was the person in the video?
If not Cecily, why did she look exactly like her? And why frame Cecily?
Darian pinched his brow, finding the situation increasingly complex.
…
Winter faded into spring.
In the bright morning sunlight illuminating a woman's beautiful face, the room was bright, yet her world remained dark...
An endless darkness surrounded Cecily. She didn't know where she was. The darkness seemed impenetrable as if no light could reach her, engulfing her like a monstrous beast.
She thought, perhaps this was it. Exhaustion weighed her down, sapping her spirits.
But memories raced through her mind like a carousel, reminding her of unfinished business, of important people waiting for her...
Cecily couldn't give up like this.
Ignoring her fatigue, she mustered her strength and rose. A glimmer of light appeared before her, and she chased after it...
In an instant, the light enveloped her, causing her delicate eyelashes to flutter.
"Boss, Dr. Cruz, Ms. Cecily seems to be waking up," an excited voice echoed from outside, followed by Blaise's brisk entrance.
Cecily's long-shut eyes trembled slightly before slowly opening.
The morning sun bathed her beautiful eyes as she adjusted to the bright surroundings.
Turning her gaze, she saw a pristine ceiling above, with a fragrant flower on the bedside table.
Cecily's eyes settled on Blaise. "Blaise..."
A glint appeared in Blaise's previously somber eyes.
"Wait, don't speak yet. Kenneth, come take a look at her," Blaise said, pulling Kenneth forward.
Kenneth Cruz, with his disheveled legs, stumbled a few steps. "Slow down, slow down. You'll wear out these old bones of mine sooner or later."
Kenneth took Cecily's hand, closed his eyes, and checked her pulse. After a few minutes, he nodded. "She's out of danger now. Waking up means she's out of danger. It's a stroke of luck, truly fortunate."
Kenneth looked joyfully at Cecily.
Blaise finally let out a sigh of relief.
Cecily recognized Kenneth and gratefully nodded. "Thank you, Dr. Cruz."
As she tried to sit up, Blaise quickly intervened. "Lie down, don't move."
Just waking up, Cecily lacked the strength to argue and obediently settled back down.
"Am I in Dorde?"
"Yes.
Cecily gently bit her lip, realizing she owed Blaise once again. "Thank you for saving me," she said.
"I just happened to be passing by and found you."
Cecily tugged at her lip. "Was I unconscious for a long time?"
She felt as if her body was completely relaxed, unable to exert much strength as if she had been lying down for a long, long time.
"Two months." Blaise pulled a chair and sat down beside her, his gaze falling on her now rosy cheeks.
"Two months!"
Cecily was surprised that she had been asleep for so long. "What about Rowan and Griffin?"
Blaise replied, "It wasn't convenient to bring them, so they were sent to the Fitzgerald Family."
If he had brought the two children, not only Darian but also Owen would have come to fight for them every day, which would have been difficult to handle.
Sending the children to the Fitzgerald Family would surely be well taken care of.
And it would be quiet here for Blaise to treat Cecily.
Why not?
Cecily thought for a moment and nodded. Since she had been in a coma for more than two months, the situation must have been very bad at the beginning, so it was reasonable for Blaise to send the two children back to the Fitzgerald Family.
"Here, take this medicine." Kenneth walked over with a bowl of medicine.
Cecily sat up, and Blaise reached out to help her. She took the bowl of medicine, and the scent of medicine hit her face. She sniffed it carefully and quickly identified the ingredients inside, slightly surprised, "This is an antidote?"
"Yes, you were poisoned two months ago, and this medicine can help you clear the remaining toxins," Kenneth explained.
"You're saying I was poisoned?"
"You were quite heavily poisoned, but fortunately, Bl..." Kenneth's voice paused, feeling Blaise's gaze directly on him.
Kenneth cleared his throat and changed the subject, "Fortunately, my skills are superb, and I saved you."
Kenneth cleverly praised himself, burying the words that almost slipped out.
Blaise's gaze returned to Cecily, and he said, "Think carefully about who might have poisoned you."
Cecily furrowed her brows slightly. "Ophelia..."
She wasn't sure. Thinking carefully, if Ophelia had poisoned her, why would she send assassins to chase her? It would be more direct to let her die from the poison.
It shouldn't be her.
She didn't have the opportunity.
Then, who else could have poisoned her?
Cecily couldn't think of anyone who could have had the opportunity at the moment.
She raised her hand to rub her temples, feeling a headache.
Blaise saw her slightly serious expression and thought for a few seconds, "Don't think about it if you can't figure it out for now. Just rest well after waking up, and we can talk about it when you're feeling better."
"Okay."
Cecily nodded and drank the medicine in one go. Blaise took the bowl from her, and Cecily's gaze fell on his hand, her eyes narrowing as she grabbed it, "What happened to your hand?"
Cecily had just noticed that his fingers, which were covered in black finger cots, were not flexible. She only realized no fingers were under the fingertips when she got closer.
Blaise raised an eyebrow, naturally pulling his hand away. "Got into a fight, didn't react in time, got injured."
"How did you get hurt so badly?" Cecily frowned, asking one question after another.
According to Blaise's abilities, few people could hurt him.
Blaise chuckled, "What? Worried about me?"
"I'm being serious with you!"
Blaise, however, lazily leaned back in his chair, not taking it seriously, "If I'm injured, I'm injured. Why so many questions? Shall I describe the process of my fight, and you can analyze it for me."
Cecily listened to his casual tone, feeling a bit helpless.
"Are you planning to return to Silver Frost Capital?" Blaise changed the subject, asking casually, "It's been two months. Everyone thought you were dead except for Darian. He seemed to be on the verge of madness."
During these two months, Darian had been relentless in his pursuit, and naturally, Cecily had been keeping an eye on him as well.
Darian continued his relentless search for her, acting like a madman. If Blaise hadn't taken her to such a secluded and remote place early on, he might have found her.
Cecily hesitated for a moment. The scene of her falling into the sea that night was still vivid in her mind. Darian...
At the thought of him, her chest inexplicably tightened. The man who, at the last moment, said he loved her...
Loved her...
Cecily forced a bitter smile. But his love had come too late.
So, was she going back?
She didn't want to.
Silver Frost Capital was a place that made her sad, a place she wanted to escape from.
But if she didn't go back, what would happen to Rowan and Griffin?
"Are you thinking about the child?"
"If I stay here, will I never see the children again?"
Blaise nodded without hesitation. "If you stay here, you will gain a new identity. If you don't want others to find out, you can't go back to see the children."
"Of course, you can also choose to fight for the child with the Fitzgerald Family, but if you do, you have to be prepared to hide and seek for the rest of your life."
