Chapter 419 Rowan and Griffin
Cecily told Vivienne to take the kids to Fitzgerald Manor while she rushed Darian to the hospital. He was bleeding badly, and she didn't realize how serious it was until now.
At Fitzgerald Manor, Aurelia was on her knees, sobbing in Josep's study, while Olivia glared at her.
"Sometimes your dad calls you stupid, and I didn't believe him. But wow, you really are that dumb!"
Josep, dressed in black, walked in, glanced at Aurelia, and went straight to the side to take off his black clothes. He pulled a gun from his waist, wrapped it up, and handed it to his subordinate.
"Clean this up. No traces."
The subordinate quickly took the items away.
Olivia walked up, worried. "Josep, how did it go?"
Josep sat down, took a sip of coffee, and his dark eyes locked onto Aurelia.
He smashed the coffee cup in front of her, shattering it instantly.
Aurelia turned pale, too scared to even cry.
"Dad."
"How could I have such a stupid daughter? Tell me, how could you be so dumb?”
“Freya and Jennifer wanted to use you to get rid of Cecily. The money you transferred could be traced by Darian in minutes. Are you out of your mind? How dare you?"
Aurelia shrank, knowing she had messed up big time, and started crying uncontrollably.
"Dad, I know I was wrong. I was just so angry and didn't think it through. They said it was just to teach Cecily a lesson. I thought it was just a lesson, and even if it got found out, they couldn't do anything to me.”
“And it was Cecily who schemed against me and Victor first. Victor is still in the hospital. I just wanted to vent my anger."
"Idiot! They wanted to kill Cecily and frame you. With your brain, you wouldn't even know when you're dead."
Josep was furious. If he hadn't caught Aurelia transferring money, he wouldn't have known how stupid she was.
Hiring someone to kill Cecily, and she actually wanted to transfer the money directly from her own account.
Luckily, he stopped it in time, or it would have been traced back to her in minutes.
Aurelia now realized she had been used.
Olivia, feeling sorry for Aurelia, tried to comfort Josep. "Josep, Aurelia is young and naive. She was manipulated by Freya and Jennifer."
"Young and naive? It's all because you spoiled her, turning her into a fool."
Olivia pursed her lips, not daring to speak, and gave Aurelia a couple of looks.
Aurelia crawled over, clutching Josep's pant leg, tears streaming down her face.
"Dad, I know I was wrong. It's all my fault for being stupid and trusting them. But I'm your daughter. I don't want to die. Please save me. What should I do?"
"Yes, Josep, you can punish Aurelia later, but right now we need to solve the problem. How are things on that side? Are Cecily, Rowan, and Griffin dead?"
Josep's face darkened again.
He had hoped to use this opportunity to get rid of them, so Darian and Owen would be too devastated to focus on the company.
Jennifer and Freya, surprisingly, had some brains and ended up saving Cecily's son, making the whole plan fall apart.
"No."
Olivia pressed on, "Will it be traced back to us?"
"Not."
Josep intercepted Aurelia's folly, halting it in its tracks. He arranged for the money to be transferred through an anonymous account by a third party. What's more,he had prepared well in advance. If anyone investigated, they would only trace it back to the people Jennifer and Freya contacted. They couldn't trace it back to them.
Hearing this, Olivia and Aurelia finally relaxed.
Aurelia gritted her teeth. Freya dared to deceive and use her. She better not run into her, or she'd tear Freya apart.
"Sir, Owen wants you downstairs immediately," Sawyer knocked and walked in.
Josep squinted, his angry face quickly turning into a smile. "Sawyer, what does Dad want with me so late?"
"Tonight, I don't know what happened, but Vivienne from the Bennett family personally brought Rowan and Griffin over."
Josep's eyes shifted. "Alright, I'll go down right away."
After the door closed, Olivia walked up. "What's going on? Why would Vivienne bring the kids over now?"
"Probably because she knows that with Owen here, no one would dare harm them."
Josep glanced at Aurelia on the ground. "You stay here and reflect. Without my order, you're not allowed to go downstairs."
"Yes, I understand, Dad," Aurelia answered, still sobbing.
Josep went downstairs.
"Dad."
Owen's face looked grim. Rowan and Griffin were sitting next to him. After hearing about tonight's events, Owen glanced at Josep. "I need to go to the hospital. You and Olivia take care of Rowan and Griffin for the night."
Josep pretended to be surprised. "Dad, are you sick? Why do you need to go to the hospital suddenly? And haven't Rowan and Griffin always been with Cecily? Why are they here now?"
Owen looked at him.
Josep remained calm, looking completely unaware.
"Darian had an incident and is now in the hospital."
"Darian had an incident? Is it serious? Dad, let me go to the hospital with you."
"Sandra and I will go. You and Olivia stay home and take good care of Rowan and Griffin. Can you handle such a small task?"
Josep looked worried. "But Darian—"
Owen had already stood up, placing Rowan and Griffin next to Josep. "Take good care of the kids, Josep. Can you handle such a small task?"
Owen asked the question a second time.
Josep's expression changed slightly, and he immediately nodded. "Don't worry, Dad. Darian had an incident, and we can't do much else, but we can help take care of the kids."
"That's good." Owen bent down and gently wiped the tears from Griffin's face. "Rowan, Griffin, stay here. If anyone dares to mistreat you, tell me, and I'll skin them."
Rowan and Griffin nodded, watching Owen leave.
Josep kept a smile on his face until Owen left, then his expression turned cold.
Olivia pulled Josep aside. "What do they mean by this? Don't they have anyone on their side? Why do we have to take care of the kids?"
Josep snorted coldly, "Cecily suspects us. She's afraid we'll do something to the kids again, so she sent them right under our noses. If anything happens to the kids, it'll be our responsibility. She knows we wouldn't dare do anything now."
