Chapter 239 Cecily Ran Away Again

Instantly, everyone made even more suggestive sounds.

Cecily watched as Darian closed the blinds and was about to go over and stop him when he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his embrace.

Cecily bumped her head into his solid chest, hearing his powerful heartbeat, and the familiar sound echoed in her head. "Give me two minutes to explain."

Cecily glanced at him, "I already know. You don't need to explain to me."

Cecily pushed him away, took her seat, and raised an eyebrow, "If you only wanted to talk about this, I think you can leave now. I'm quite busy."

After Cecily finished speaking, she felt a gust of refreshing air approach, and then the man suddenly lifted her up. He took her seat, and she was pressed against his legs.

Cecily glanced anxiously toward the door and reached out to push him away. "This is the office!"

"Are you angry?" he asked.

"Who's angry?"

"You are!"

"I'm not angry. What do I have to be angry about?" Cecily pushed him, but this time, Darian's arm held her tightly, and she couldn't push him away no matter how hard she tried.

"Darian!" Cecily sounded annoyed, her voice slightly raised.

"I'm here."

"I need to work. Why are you messing around here? If you keep this up, I will really get angry."

Darian's warm breath fell on her fair neck, causing Cecily to tremble. "Then I apologize to you. How can I make you feel better?"

"Just leave."

"I leave, and you'll feel better?"

"Yes."

With a gentle laugh behind her, Darian said, "I shouldn't have asked." He then released her and placed her back on the chair. "I'll come back later. You go ahead and work."

Cecily looked at him wordlessly, not giving him a friendly expression.

Darian wasn't bothered; instead, a hint of a smile appeared in the corner of his eye. He didn't tease her anymore and turned to leave.

As soon as the people outside the door heard it open, they quickly raised their heads. When they saw the man walking out so quickly, someone dared to laugh and said, "Mr. Fitzgerald won't be kicked out by our boss, right?"

His voice wasn't loud, but in the suddenly quiet office area, it sounded exceptionally clear.

After his words fell, Darian's footsteps abruptly stopped, and the office became even quieter.

Following the sound, Darian quickly found the person who was making fun of him.

Stared at by Darian's deep and cold gaze, the person froze in place, even forgetting to breathe.

It was said that this Great Devil had a bad temper and was ruthless. Everyone under his command suffered immensely.

In just a few seconds, the person who made fun of him was drenched in sweat on his back, and as a result, Darian simply said indifferently, "There's nothing I can do. She doesn't like me."

The crowd was stunned.

So, he really was kicked out by Cecily?

Cecily originally thought Darian was joking when he said he would come later.

However, she didn't expect that he really showed up after 7 p.m. The luxurious Rolls Royce parked downstairs attracted a lot of attention.

Darian sat in the car until 9 p.m., but the lights upstairs remained on.

Cecily was truly dedicated to her work.

Darian extinguished his cigarette, drove away, and half an hour later, the car reappeared. Darian took out his phone and dialed the office's landline.

He called her office, and soon enough, Cecily answered politely, "Who is this?"

"Takeout."

Cecily suddenly froze.

Without waiting for her to speak, Darian immediately asked, "Deliver it to you?"

Sitting in the office, Cecily, who was getting ready to leave, frowned and said, "Since when did they start delivering takeout?"

"It's a newly launched service, very considerate. Do you want to try it?"

Listening to the low voice on the other end, Cecily walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and looked down, only to see a tall and upright man holding something, standing silently downstairs.

Cecily tightened her grip on the phone and replied, "No need. I'm not hungry, and I'm about to leave work."

Darian added, "Then I'll wait for you downstairs."

Cecily said, "Not necessary," and hung up the phone. She glanced deeply at the person downstairs and decided to finish what she was doing and walk past him directly.

Darian waited for a while, afraid that Cecily might run away, so he decided to go upstairs to find her instead.

As the elevator door opened, he hadn't even stepped out when he heard a scream.

It was Cecily's voice.

Darian's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly rushed toward her office.

At this time, the lights in the office area outside were already turned off. Cecily should have turned off the lights and was ready to leave. The entire corridor was pitch black.

Darian hurriedly searched for Cecily's figure and saw her leaning against the wall near her office door.

Darian walked over in long strides, relieved to see that she was unharmed. He glanced in the direction she was looking and saw a shadow slowly moving in the darkness.

In the large, pitch-black office area, a sudden black shadow flashed by, disappearing without a trace, and there was no sound at all, making it all the more eerie.

"Mrs. Watson," a voice rang out as the person approached. Finally willing to make a sound, he said, "Mrs. Watson? Are you okay? I forgot to bring my phone and came back to get it."

Cecily looked at the person with a dark expression and took a deep breath while holding her chest, then waved her hand, "I'm fine."

The person glanced at Cecily, then nervously glanced at Darian, and pointed to the door, "Shall I leave first?"

Cecily nodded, "Okay."

Darian reached out and held her, "Did you get scared?"

"A bit," Cecily twitched her hand but couldn't free herself. She glared at Darian.

Darian didn't let go either.

Cecily was a little annoyed, "Why did you come up?"

"I was worried you might run away."

This guy really understood her.

Seeing that she didn't say anything, Darian raised an eyebrow, "Did I guess right?"

Cecily forcefully shook off his hand and walked forward, with Darian calmly following behind, "I'll be going on a business trip tomorrow."

Upon seeing her disregard for him, Darian showed no signs of anger and continued to speak to her as they walked. When they reached the corner, Cecily suddenly quickened her pace.

Darian followed from a distance, calling out, "Cecily?"

Cecily darted into the elevator with a swift step and forcefully pressed the close door button twice.

As Darian realized he was picking up speed, there was only a small gap left in the door. Cecily stood inside, waving at him with a sly smile, resembling a cunning fox.

The elevator doors closed completely and descended. This amused Darian.

No wonder she must have been a spy in her past life. She gets quicker each time.

He waited for the next elevator to go downstairs, but Cecily had already driven away in a flamboyant manner.

She was truly heartless.

Initially, he planned to send Cecily a message, but Darian decided against it, considering she was driving. When Cecily arrived home thirty minutes later, Darian finally sent his message.

Darian: [I'll be on a business trip tomorrow.]

Cecily ignored him.

Darian: [Take care of yourself for the next three days.]

The message was still left unanswered.

Darian: [Can I pick up Rowan and Griffin at your place this weekend?]

After three seconds, Darian's phone rang.

It was Cecily!

Darian sighed and helplessly rubbed his temples. He wanted her to reply to his message, but he had to rely on their sons to do so.

Darian immediately answered the call.

"What about Mr. Fitzgerald?" he asked.

"I'll handle it," Cecily replied.

"Okay."

Darian's voice carried a hint of resignation. "Cecily, I've realized that sometimes children come in handy."

Cecily hung up the phone.

Darian was left speechless.

He had never seen Cecily be so heartless before.
