Chapter 580: "I'll go get an abortion, just let me go."
Hearing this, Cecily just rolled with it. Before, they were sneaking around like they were having some secret fling, always paranoid about getting caught.
But now, everything was out in the open, and they could finally be together without hiding.
Cecily hooked her good arm around Darian's neck, leaned into him, and grinned, "Let's head home."
"To our home," Darian added.
"Yeah, my mom went back to Detroit tonight," Cecily said.
"In such a rush?"
Cecily scrunched up her brows, "I thought it was kinda sudden too, but she said she didn't want Bryan finding her and trailing her everywhere."
Thinking about Vivienne and Bryan's drama, Cecily felt a bit helpless.
Vivienne and Bryan, two stubborn souls, had spent their lives in a game of cat and mouse. Even now, with age creeping up, neither would back down.
One kept running, and the other kept chasing.
Cecily let out a wry smile.
From a kid's point of view, Cecily still hoped they'd end up happy together. Maybe it was a bit selfish.
Getting into the car, Cecily called Rowan and Griffin. After a moment, she glanced at Darian.
She and Darian had taken Rowan and Griffin with them, so Aurelie was the only one left at the villa. She figured Aurelie would probably head back to her own place too.
But Aurelie's issues weren't sorted yet, and Cecily was worried about her.
"What's up?" Darian glanced at Cecily, noticing her changing expressions.
Cecily propped her chin and said, "How about we bring Aurelie to stay with us? She's alone, and her problems aren't sorted yet. I'm worried about her."
"You're the boss, babe. Do whatever you want," Darian said, looking at Cecily with a smile.
Cecily grinned, "Then it's settled."
"I'll agree to anything you want. When will you agree to remarry me?" Darian asked.
At a red light, the car stopped, and Darian turned to look at Cecily with serious eyes.
"Remarry?" Cecily had almost forgotten about that.
Darian's gaze moved to Cecily's bare fingers, feeling a bit let down, "Where's the ring?"
"It's at home," Cecily answered.
"Why aren't you wearing it? Don't you like it? If you don't, I'll get you a new one."
Cecily spread her fingers, looking at her slender hand, "I love it. But it's a wedding today, isn't it? Even if it's just for show, I can't treat people like fools. How would it look if I wore a big, shiny ring out in the open?"
Darian reluctantly accepted her explanation, "Wear it when we get home."
"Okay," Cecily agreed easily.
As they were talking, Cecily suddenly looked up, "Wait a sec."
"What?" Darian was puzzled.
Cecily touched her chin, seriously scrutinizing Darian, "You said you were out of money last time. So how could you casually say you'd get me a new ring? If you're broke, how did you buy the diamond ring you gave me?"
Darian went silent.
"Spill it, are you hiding money? A ring like that must cost at least a million bucks. So, you're hiding millions?"
Cecily's brows furrowed tightly, looking like a wife who had caught her husband hiding money and was ready for a showdown.
Darian suddenly realized the more he said, the more mistakes he would make.
"I can explain," Darian wanted to explain, but the light turned green, and the car behind them honked impatiently.
Darian had no choice but to start driving.
Seeing Darian's serious and nervous face as he thought of an excuse, Cecily almost burst out laughing. She propped her chin and watched Darian, "Alright. I'm listening."
Darian looked at her, opened his mouth, and seemed at a loss.
Cecily covered her mouth and laughed out loud.
Darian was momentarily stunned, seeing Cecily laughing. He then realized she was just messing with him.
"You're so nervous, it makes me seem really fierce, like I'm about to have a big fight with you." Cecily couldn't stop laughing.
At that moment, Darian really wanted to stop the car, pull Cecily into his arms.
Helplessly, Darian sighed, "I like it when you joke with me."
Cecily met Darian's serious and affectionate eyes, unexpectedly feeling a bit flustered.
"How can you flirt when we are having a conversation?" Cecily said.
Soon, they arrived home. Cecily was about to get out of the car but was pulled back by Darian, who wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her onto his lap.
Caught off guard, Cecily found herself in Darian's arms. She was about to say something when Darian's lips met hers.
"Darian?" Cecily quickly pulled back.
"Still trying to run?"
"I just texted Aurelie to bring Rowan and Griffin out. They'll be here any minute." Cecily buried her face in Darian's chest.
Looking at the small head in his arms, Darian chuckled softly, "Then we'll make up for it at home."
With that, Darian leaned down for another kiss.
By the time Aurelie brought Rowan and Griffin out, Cecily and Darian were already sitting properly in their seats, acting like nothing happened.
"Daddy, Mommy!" Rowan and Griffin shouted happily.
Darian and Cecily got out of the car at the same time, each catching one of the running kids. Darian looked at Griffin in his arms, "Did you miss me?"
"Yes."
"Really? You were having so much fun with Blaise, and you still missed me?" Darian thought about how Rowan and Griffin had been out for over half a month and came back with a godfather without telling him, and he got a bit upset.
"Of course I missed you. I even dreamed about you, Daddy," Griffin said sweetly.
"Really?" Darian loved hearing that and smiled, "What about you, Rowan?"
Nestled in Cecily's arms, Rowan pursed his little lips and happily raised his smiling face, "I missed Mommy and Daddy. I want our family to be together."
Cecily nodded and kissed Rowan, "We're going home now, and our family will never be apart again."
Seeing their family finally together, Aurelie smiled.
Cecily handed the kids to Darian and walked towards Aurelie, "Aurelie, I'm worried about you being alone. We talked it over, and we want you to come live with us."
Aurelie was grateful but didn't want to intrude, "No, if I stay at your place again, I'd really be imposing. Don't worry about me. I'll go home tonight."
Aurelie gently pushed Cecily back towards Darian, "Go on, I'm not a child. I'll be fine."
Cecily grabbed Aurelie's arm, "You're so stubborn. What if your dad's people come looking for you again? You can't handle it alone. Come with us."
Aurelie knew Cecily was right, but she also understood she couldn't hide at Cecily's place forever, "You're right, but I can't stay at your place forever. I have to face some things on my own eventually. Go back with Darian. It's hard for your family to be together, don't worry about me. I'll be fine."
Cecily frowned.
There was a commotion behind them.
A car stopped, and the window rolled down, revealing Nathaniel's handsome but expressionless face. He didn't say anything, staring at Aurelie, with no intention of getting out.
Cecily looked at him curiously, "Nathaniel?" She turned to look at Aurelie.
Aurelie was surprised to see Nathaniel at this moment, but she quickly looked away, "Cecily, you guys go ahead."
"But what about you?" Cecily was worried.
"Don't worry about me. I have some things to talk to him about. You go on."
Since Aurelie said so, Cecily couldn't stay any longer, "Alright, call me if you need anything."
"Okay, don't worry."
After Cecily and the others left, only Aurelie and Nathaniel were left in the empty night. Nathaniel looked at her coldly and sneered, "I thought you were going to hide at Cecily's place forever."
Since the last incident, Aurelie had been ignoring Nathaniel. The last time they met was at the bridal shop.
Aurelie had nothing to say to him. She just said she wanted to talk to him alone so that Cecily and the others could leave with peace of mind.
Aurelie turned to leave, but Nathaniel didn't give her the chance. He got out of the car, took a few steps to catch up, grabbed her, and pulled her into his arms. He chuckled, "Not even a hello?"
"What do we have to talk about?" Aurelie controlled her emotions and looked at him.
Last time, Barbara had brought a group of people to humiliate her, and Nathaniel had stood by watching. At that moment, she knew how cold Nathaniel was at his core and that he had no feelings for her.
Out of guilt towards him, Aurelie had been very humble and tolerant in front of him. But she was also proud. She couldn't keep approaching him after he treated her like that.
Aurelie couldn't do it, so she chose to stay away.
"Let go of me. You're about to marry your fiancée, and you're here hugging your ex-girlfriend. Is that appropriate?" Aurelie glared at Nathaniel angrily.
Nathaniel looked at her coldly, his deep eyes revealing no emotion.
But his gaze made Aurelie feel a sense of danger.
Aurelie was really scared of him. She wanted to stay away.
She just wanted to give birth to the child, nothing more.
