Chapter 286 The Bennett Banque

As Cecily was thinking, she walked out. She had thought she was the only one in the entire presidential suite, but as she pushed open the door, she was instantly stunned. Darian's gaze turned towards her, raising an eyebrow slightly as he stood up and walked towards her. "Awake?"

"Mama."

"Mama."

Rowan and Griffin ran over without hesitation and embraced Cecily.

Cecily squatted down to catch the two children and looked at them with surprise. "Rowan , Griffin, when did you come?"

Griffin happily replied, "We came last night. Daddy said you were asleep and didn't want us to disturb you."

Rowan nodded. "You fell asleep very early last night. Daddy said you were tired. Have you been working hard here?"

Cecily felt a bit embarrassed, her face turning slightly red. "I'm not working hard. Have you both had breakfast?"

Rowan nodded. "Yes, we did. Daddy also prepared breakfast for you. Mama, please go and eat."

Darian held Cecily's hand and led her to the sofa. "I knew you would wake up soon. I had someone bring this. Please have some."

Cecily nodded and casually asked, "Did you prepare the dress in the room?"

Darian handed her a pair of utensils. "No, it was sent by the Bennett family."

Cecily paused her actions. "The Bennett family? Did they say anything?"

"They said it was a gift for you. I checked, and the dress was ordered by that imposter. Caleb's people delivered the dress."

Cecily's eyes sparkled. "So, you mean Caleb sent me the dress without that imposter knowing?"

"Something like that."

Cecily immediately understood and shook her head with a smile. "I have to say they really know how to stir things up."

With this, it seemed that someone was destined to lose face at the evening banquet. Not only that, the one who had undergone plastic surgery would definitely not stay quiet before the banquet. She would surely try to stop Cecily from attending, but Cecily wondered what other tricks she would use.

Cecily lowered her head and looked at the oatmeal in her hand, pausing for a moment. Darian noticed her concern and spoke, "I've tried it. The oatmeal is safe to eat. Please don't worry."

After experiencing being poisoned, Cecily dared not take any risks. "Have you eaten it?"

Cecily took a sip of the oatmeal and looked at Darian. Darian reached out and tucked her stray hair behind her ear, speaking gently, "I have."

At that moment, Griffin seemed to notice something and widened his eyes, suddenly leaning closer. "Mommy, there's a dark mark on your neck. Were you bitten by a mosquito?"

Cecily choked and almost sprayed the oatmeal. Her eyes turned red from choking, and Darian reached out to gently pat her back. Cecily glared at Darian.

A hint of amusement appeared on Darian's handsome face. Cecily pursed her lips. How could he still laugh? She thought for a few seconds and answered Griffin's question, "There were mosquitoes last night, and I was bitten by one."

"But it's cold now. Are there still mosquitoes?" Rowan asked.

Cecily touched her forehead and said, "There are still mosquitoes. Maybe that one is particularly persistent."

Darian, who was called "mosquito" by Cecily, smiled and nodded. "Yes, there are mosquitoes."

"Rowan , Griffin, come here. Do your grandparents know that you're here?" Cecily quickly changed the subject to prevent more probing questions from the children.

"Grandpa didn't know yesterday. We sneaked out with Uncle Hudson and Uncle Austin," Griffin replied.

Cecily glanced at Darian and said, "ThenOwen probably knows by now."

Darian responded softly, "I will handle this."

Hearing Darian's words, Cecily didn't say anything more. After all, she couldn't communicate withOwen on that matter.

"Have some more to eat."

"Okay."

Meanwhile, Eliza had been kneeling in the hall all night as a punishment and had received a scolding from Desmond. She returned to her room with anger.

Caleb had already found a dress identical to the one Eliza had worn last night and had it sent to her room.

Eliza saw the hanging dress but didn't notice anything unusual. She had no interest in the dress now.

She was determined not to let Cecily attend the banquet tonight. With Caleb and Evan causing trouble as well, she couldn't afford to let Cecily go.

Eliza's eyes turned fierce, and she gripped the table tightly.

She was determined to eliminate anyone who stood in her way.

As night fell, the Bennett family was bustling with activity.

Young masters and misses from prestigious families arrived one after another. It had been a long time since the Bennett family had hosted such a grand event, especially since the news of the disappearance of their family head, Vivienne.

It was said that the banquet was held to celebrate the return of Vivienne's only daughter, the heiress of the Bennett family and the future successor.

The heiress of the Bennett family was undoubtedly the most eye-catching presence tonight, attracting countless media who wanted to catch a glimpse of her.

"I heard that the banquet is for the newly found heiress of the Bennett family. I wonder what she looks like."

"It doesn't matter how she looks. Being found by the Bennett family changes her destiny."

"But did you hear? On the day they found the heiress of the Bennett family, two people who looked exactly the same appeared, both claiming to be the heiress of the Bennett family."

"Ah? Is that so? What happened in the end?"

"The real one stayed, and the fake one was driven away. It's understandable. After all, who wouldn't want to be one of the Bennett family? It's not surprising that someone would try to impersonate her."

"Exactly, there are always impostors trying to claim what doesn't belong to them. They are the most shameless."

Ophelia's family, who had just gotten out of the car, frowned upon hearing this. Ophelia tightly held her skirt and trembled slightly. "Dad, are you sure? Is the heiress found by the Bennett family really Cecily?"

Tristan shook his head and replied, "The Bennett family has kept the information tightly sealed. The rumors circulating may not be true. We haven't seen the person yet, so I can't be certain."

Ophelia's heart was consumed with jealousy, and she prayed repeatedly that the heiress found by the Bennett family would not be Cecily. She couldn't bear the thought of Cecily becoming the heiress of the Bennett family.

"How could Cecily be worthy of becoming the heiress of the Bennett family?" Tabitha squeezed Ophelia's hand and said, "Don't worry. That despicable person could never become the heiress of the Bennett family. You're overthinking it."

Ophelia gritted her teeth and nodded. "Let's go in."

At that moment, a luxurious Rolls-Royce slowly pulled up. The door opened, andOwen stepped out of the car, leaning on a cane.

On the other side, a servant helped Sandra out of the car and into a wheelchair.

Sandra wore a simple and elegant emerald green dress, with a large fur shawl draped over her shoulders, exuding grace and elegance.

SeeingOwen and Sandra from the Fitzgerald family attending the Bennett family's banquet surprised everyone. After all, the Fitzgerald family rarely attended such events, so their presence tonight showed the importance they placed on the Bennett family's heiress.

Both the Bennett and the Fitzgerald families were top families from different regions. The fact that the Bennett family's heiress and Darian were both unmarried had already sparked speculations about a possible alliance between the two families.

The Flore family of three set their sights onOwen and Sandra.

Tabitha gently tugged at Ophelia's arm, signaling her to go and greet them.

Although the Flore family and the Fitzgerald family had a strained relationship, they didn't openly confront each other.

Tristan and Tabitha approached with Ophelia, wearing forced smiles. Tabitha, with a gentle expression, asked, "Owen, Sandra, you're also here for the banquet. Sandra, how have you been lately?"

Sandra didn't give them a warm reception. "Because of your daughter, I haven't been feeling well."
