Chapter 207 Say I Love You Before Death

Cecily was about to operate her phone, but the sudden impact threw her forward, causing the phone to slip from her grasp.

Gunshots rang out, and Darian, his face contorted with anger, quickly reached out, pressing Cecily's head down. "Stay down, don't move," he commanded.

The car's windows shattered, and the cold wind rushed in.

Cecily reached for her phone, but another jolt from the car forced her to steady herself.

The pursuers were relentless, and more vehicles were closing in, determined to leave no escape for her.

Cecily knew without a doubt who had sent these people; it could only be Ophelia.

Meanwhile, news of the situation had already reached Owen through his connections in the Fitzgerald Family.

Upon hearing that Darian was with Cecily, Owen's expression hardened, "What did you say? Is he hurt?"

"Not at the moment," the Fitzgerald Family member replied.

They wouldn't dare harm Darian, and others wouldn't dare either. But accidents happen, and it was a risk to continue.

Owen's brow furrowed, and he gave a decisive order, "Withdraw."

"Yes."

Ophelia immediately protested, "Grandpa Owen, we can't withdraw. Our target is Cecily, and no one will harm Darian."

Owen's gaze turned cold as he questioned, "Can't withdraw? What if those people harm Darian? Can you take responsibility?"

Owen would never allow his grandson to be in danger.

Even if they stopped pursuing Cecily, he couldn't put Darian at risk.

"Tell everyone to withdraw," Owen's tone brooked no argument.

Ophelia clenched her fists, knowing that it wouldn't be that simple.

Even if the Fitzgerald Family retreated, the Flores Family wouldn't. Cecily's life was in grave danger tonight.

Ophelia gritted her teeth, her eyes fierce as she signaled to her men.

The continuous impacts and high-speed driving had taken a toll on the car, leaving it battered and Darian's face tense. He held the steering wheel tightly, his foot not easing off the gas.
The pursuing cars gradually slowed down, seemingly giving up the chase.

Darian glanced at the rearview mirror, recognizing some of the cars as belonging to the Fitzgerald Family.

A cold glint appeared in Darian's eyes. Tonight's pursuit had more than one mastermind, and Owen was involved. But it was also he who called off the chase.

Darian turned to the woman beside him.

Cecily was frightened, but not to the point of being paralyzed with fear.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice tense.

Cecily was sweating but shook her head, "I'm fine."

Darian tried to brake, but his expression suddenly changed, and he pressed the brake pedal twice more, but the car showed no signs of slowing down.

The car had suffered a serious malfunction due to the excessive impact. The brakes had failed.

"Darian, be careful!" Cecily, who had just looked ahead, suddenly screamed.

It was pitch black, and the headlights couldn't illuminate the road anymore.

Cecily looked in panic, and by the dim moonlight, she recognized the place.

Ahead was the sea, and in front of them was a steep cliff.

Cecily's heart tightened!

The car still showed no signs of slowing down, and she widened her eyes, "Darian, brake!"

She screamed.

They would plunge down into the car if they couldn’t stop the car.

The height below was unknown, and the chances of survival were extremely low if the car fell into the sea.

Darian's face was filled with a grim expression, and they were less than twenty meters away. At this high speed, there was no time to even turn.

Cecily watched in horror as the car hurtled toward the cliff's edge, her heart pounding in her chest.

Darian showed no sign of slowing down, and a wave of fear washed over her, draining the color from her face.

Then, in a moment of sheer disbelief, Darian unfastened her seatbelt.

"What are you doing?" Cecily's voice trembled with fear as she stared at him, her eyes wide with shock.

"Jump," Darian said, his voice firm.

His heart ached, realizing he had fallen deeply in love with her.

"I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused you. Live well. I love you, Cecily."

Cecily's eyes filled with panic, and she cried out, "Darian!"

With a sudden, powerful push, Darian sent her tumbling over the cliff.

Cecily's body rolled uncontrollably, her head hitting a nearby rock.

A sharp pain shot through her.

Moments later, a deafening crash echoed behind her as the car plunged into the abyss.

Cecily's heart constricted as she saw the vehicle disappear from view.

She stood frozen in place, her mind unable to process what had just happened.

"Darian," she whispered, her voice filled with desperation.

"Darian, please don't leave me." Cecily tried to get up, but a searing pain shot through her knee, making it impossible to move.

Ignoring the pain, she crawled toward the edge of the cliff, her hands and knees scraping against the rough ground.

"Darian! Darian!" she called out, her voice growing louder with each desperate plea.

The cold and indifferent moonlight illuminated her broken body as she continued to climb.

"Darian, no... Please, Darian!" Cecily's voice echoed in the stillness of the night, but there was no response.

The vast expanse of the ocean below seemed to swallow her cries, leaving her feeling utterly alone.

Tears streamed down her face, and her body trembled uncontrollably.

The pain in her heart was unbearable.

'Why? Why did this happen?'

'To save her, Darian...'

'He was too late to bail out because he was trying to save her.'

"Darian!" Her anguished cry pierced the night, startling a flock of birds into flight.

The cold wind blew, and in the faint moonlight, all that remained was the silhouette of a woman, shattered and alone.
