Chapter 432 Counterattack, Vivienne Kidnaps Jennifer
The doctor looked at Jennifer with a helpless expression and said, "You need to prepare yourselves mentally." Then he walked into the ICU.
Jennifer watched the door close, her vision went black, and she collapsed.
Bryan rushed forward. "Jennifer? Jennifer? Doctor! Someone get the doctor!"
Owen echoed, "Get the doctor!"
Soon, another doctor arrived. Bryan picked up the unconscious Jennifer and placed her on the mobile bed the doctor had brought.
The scene was chaotic, and the reporters' cameras captured everything.
The reporters shook their heads, muttering, "This is so tragic."
Cecily stayed in the ward with Darian. Larkin quickly walked in. "Boss, Miss Watson, something happened."
"What's up?" Cecily asked just as her phone rang.
She glanced at Larkin and answered Aurelie's call.
Aurelie sounded anxious. "Cecily, where are you right now?"
"At the hospital, what's wrong?"
"Don't go out alone. Check the news I sent you. Just a heads-up, you need to be mentally prepared, or you'll be furious."
Cecily sensed something was wrong, said "okay," hung up, and immediately checked her phone.
Larkin handed his phone to Darian.
It was a viral video from that morning at the operating room door, with a flood of hateful comments below it.
[Oh my God, I can't believe people like this exist. It shatters my understanding.]
[This woman is unbelievable. It's not just about character anymore. Not being grateful is one thing, but insulting and beating the parents of the rescuer? This Cecily is simply inhuman.]
[The girl who saved the person is so pitiful. Isn't this Cecily the eldest daughter the Bennett family found? The one next to her is her mom, right? They look pretty, but they're not good people.]
[I really hope people like this die immediately. They don't deserve to live in this world.]
Darian saw the malicious comments too. Several media outlets were competing to report on this, and soon there was an interview video with Jennifer.
He frowned, took the phone from Cecily's hand. "Stop looking at it."
"Take down all the videos," Darian instructed Larkin sternly.
"No need."
Cecily's expression remained unchanged, seemingly unaffected by the online hate.
"Taking down the videos won't help. We have evidence. We don't need to be afraid of them."
Cecily thought of Vivienne taking the evidence, saying she would handle it. She wondered what she would do.
"Where's the evidence?"
"At my mother's. I reckon she has her own plans," Cecily said calmly. After thinking for a moment, she stood up. "I need to call Auntie Sandra. Rowan and Griffin are still at home. With these people cursing so crazily, I'm afraid someone might incite trouble."
Darian looked at Larkin. "Get a few capable people over here, and arrange more security at Fitzgerald Manor. Also, investigate these media outlets."
"Yes, I'll do it right away." Larkin took his phone back from Darian and immediately got to work.
After finishing her call, Cecily walked back and asked, "Do you suspect someone is stirring things up behind the scenes?"
"You bet, otherwise, things wouldn't have escalated so quickly."
In just one morning, the video was posted on major platforms, followed by interviews with reporters, and it went viral. It is certain that someone was manipulating it from behind the scenes.
Cecily sneered inwardly. ’Jennifer was now focused on Freya and had no time to arrange these things. The only one who could do this was Josep.‘
Of course, Jennifer wouldn't miss such a good opportunity and would definitely cooperate with every question the reporters asked.
After thinking for a moment, Cecily shook her head and said, "They really went to great lengths."
"For the next few days, you need someone with you whenever you go out. I'll arrange it," Darian said.
Cecily nodded, not wanting any more trouble.
By evening, the doctors managed to save Freya again. After she woke up, Jennifer returned to the ICU door, leaning against the observation window, watching Freya inside, covered in tubes and medical devices.
Her face was filled with extreme sadness, but her heart was full of hatred.
Freya saved Rowan, yet Cecily showed no gratitude at all. Why?
Why should Cecily not be grateful to them?
Why didn't Cecily die last night? If Cecily had died, the one who would be in pain and crying would be Vivienne.
Jennifer clenched her fists tightly, anger and resentment growing wildly in her heart.
"Mr. Whitaker, Ms. Bennett would like to see you." The sudden voice made both Bryan and Jennifer turn around.
They saw Desmond standing behind them. Bryan and Jennifer both knew Desmond's identity. Jennifer stared at him with cold, resentful eyes for a few seconds.
What did Vivienne want to talk to Bryan about at this time?
Desmond completely ignored Jennifer, kept his gaze on Bryan, raised his hand slightly, and coldly said, "Please."
Jennifer didn't want Bryan to leave.
For some reason, Vivienne wanting to see Bryan at this time made her feel very uneasy.
"Bryan, please don't go, okay? I can't stay here alone." Jennifer looked pitiful.
Bryan clearly felt the fearful trembling in Jennifer's hand as she clutched his.
But it was Vivienne who wanted to see him, and he didn't want to refuse.
He had also been here with her without rest for a whole day and night. "I'll be back soon." Bryan refused Jennifer.
Jennifer's tears fell profusely, and an even greater sense of unease crept into her heart.
"No, Bryan, I'm really scared, please don't go."
"I'll have Sam stay with you. Don't worry, I'll be back soon." Bryan pressed Jennifer's hand down and looked at Desmond. "Lead the way."
"Bryan." Jennifer took two steps forward, but seeing Bryan's determination, she had no choice but to stop.
As Bryan followed Desmond past Darian's ward, Cecily happened to walk out.
Cecily saw them, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "Elder Desmond, where are you going?"
Desmond respectfully nodded slightly to Cecily. "Miss Watson, Ms. Bennett wants to talk to Mr. Whitaker."
Cecily then glanced at Bryan who looked at Cecily with an equally unfriendly expression.
"Since you're here, you should come too. We need to talk about this morning."
Cecily initially wanted to refuse, but after thinking for a few seconds, she nodded. "Alright."
Meanwhile, as Bryan followed Desmond, Vivienne arrived with two people by Jennifer's side.
Jennifer's face changed dramatically at Vivienne's stance. "What do you want to do?"
"Just to talk." Vivienne's tone was indifferent, and the two people behind her immediately stepped forward and grabbed Jennifer.
Jennifer immediately realized. "You deliberately sent Bryan away. What do you want to do to me?"
Vivienne ignored her and said, "Take her away."
Sam saw this and stepped forward to stop Vivienne. "Mrs. Whitaker, what are you trying to do? Mr. Whitaker said..."
"What did he say?"
"He said..."
"Not my concerns." Vivienne's face was cold, not giving Sam a chance to speak.
"Sam, how many years have you been with Bryan?"
"About eight or nine years."
"Then know your dos and don'ts." Vivienne glanced at the phone in Sam's hand.
Sam pressed his lips tightly, gripping his phone. Under Vivienne's oppressive gaze, he finally raised his hand and handed his phone to Vivienne.
Jennifer was shocked. "Sam, if Bryan finds out you did this, he won't let you off."
Sam thought to himself, 'He can't see it anyway!'
