Chapter 575: Will They Still Want Us After Having a Baby?
"You're pregnant?" Darian's eyes lit up.
Seeing him so stoked, Cecily knew he was hoping for a little girl.
"It's barely been a week, how would I know? Do you even want it?"
Darian couldn't hide his excitement, "Absolutely."
Cecily chuckled, feeling a bit helpless. Talking about pregnancy brought back memories of the child she lost, and a wave of sadness washed over her.
But at least now, she had avenged her child.
"Cecily!" Karen rushed over, tears streaming down her face, grabbing Cecily's hand with trembling fingers.
She had pieced it all together. Today's wedding was a trap set by Cecily.
She didn't blame Cecily; she was just getting justice for herself and her child.
But as Percy's wife, she still hoped Cecily could spare him.
"Cecily, Percy messed up big time, he deserves it, but I'm begging you, can you let him go? Please?" Karen sobbed.
Cecily looked at the tearful Karen and pulled her hand back, cold and resolute, "I'm sorry. I know you all mean me no harm, so I won't drag anyone else in the Lockwood family into this. This is my final act of kindness."
"No," Karen shouted.
"Actually, whether it's you, Evander, Landon, or Bella, you all knew about Percy's schemes. You knew that after marrying into the Lockwood family, I was a goner, and everything I had would be taken away. But none of you warned me. You just watched as I walked into the lion's den. If he killed me, and I begged you to make Percy spare me, would you have helped me? Would he have spared me?" Cecily said.
Karen covered her mouth, sobbing uncontrollably, "I'm sorry, we were all too selfish."
Cecily shook her head, "People are selfish. I don't blame you, and I have my own selfishness too. So between your plea and my revenge, I choose revenge."
Karen was filled with regret and despair.
Percy walked over and grabbed Karen, still looking defiant, "Don't beg her. What's the point? She won't spare me."
Karen shook off Percy's hand and shouted at him, "It's all your fault! How dare you say this? I told you long ago not to do bad things. Why didn't you listen to me? Now you're facing ten or twenty years in prison. At your age, do you think you'll ever get out? What about me? What about Mom? She's so old, and now she has to worry about you. Percy, who do you think you're letting down?"
Karen cried bitterly. The Lockwood family was finished, and she didn't know what to do next.
This whole mess was a big deal. Even if Cecily and Darian didn't take action, the Lockwood Group would suffer greatly because of it.
"He deserves whatever he gets! Don't worry about him!" Bella, who had returned at some point, raised her cane and struck Percy. "How did I end up with a son like you? I didn't know you were the one who killed Cecily's unborn child. Percy, how could you do that?"
Percy just stood there, silently taking the beating.
Through the crowd, Cecily saw Evander standing at the back, silent.
Evander slowly raised his eyes, meeting Cecily's gaze. He gave her a faint smile, said nothing, and then turned to leave.
Watching Evander's desolate figure, Cecily felt only pity, but not regret.
She would never regret what she had done.
But perhaps, they could never be friends again.
Cecily sighed.
"I have some things to take care of. You go ahead," Darian gently touched Cecily's hair, his eyes tender.
"Okay."
Cecily picked up the microphone and addressed the guests, "Thanks for coming to this wedding today. Sorry you had to witness this drama. The wedding gifts will be fully refunded. The banquet is ready, so feel free to enjoy it before leaving."
After speaking, Cecily and Darian exchanged a glance, "Later, find the hotel manager and refund the money for this wedding to the Lockwood family."
Darian smiled, "Okay, go rest. I'll handle it."
Cecily smiled, "Okay."
With that, she ignored Percy and Josep and left directly.
Darian glanced at Josep on the ground and the trembling Aurelia and Victor, instructing Larkin, "Take them away."
He still needed Josep; Sandra's whereabouts were still unknown.
Percy was directly sent to the police station by Darian's men. With all the evidence in place, it was up to the court to decide his sentence.
Josep sneered at Darian, "Darian, I've got your mom stashed away. You really think you can touch me? If I die, she dies too. I've already given the order. If I don't check in within three days, my people will take her out."
Darian's eyes were ice-cold, his face not even flinching at the threat. "Is that so? Let's see how many rounds of inquisition you and your kids can handle."
Aurelia crumpled to the ground in fear. They knew all too well what Darian was capable of, and she turned pale as a ghost.
"No, Darian, please spare me. I didn't do anything."
Darian's lips curled slightly, "My mom didn't do anything either. Did your dad spare her?"
Aurelia got the message and clung to Josep's arm. "Dad, let Sandra go. If you release her, we might have a chance. I don't want to be tortured. Please."
Josep glared at Aurelia. "You think if I let Sandra go, he'll spare us? Don't be so naive."
"No," Aurelia shouted.
"Take them away," Darian commanded. Larkin and his men stepped up and dragged the three away.
Aurelia's cries for mercy echoed and gradually faded into the distance.
The banquet dispersed, and Cecily had already changed out of her wedding dress. As soon as she stepped out, she saw Blaise waiting outside with Rowan and Griffin.
Cecily smiled and ran over, hugging Rowan and Griffin tightly.
"Mommy, can we live with you and Daddy from now on?" they asked.
Cecily smiled and pinched their little cheeks, "Of course you can."
Rowan and Griffin grinned happily, "Yay!"
Blaise looked down at the three of them, "You're so happy not having to follow me anymore?"
These days, although Cecily had sent them to the Bennett family, it was still Blaise who took care of them most of the time.
Griffin reached out a small hand to hold Blaise's, "No, we're very happy to be with Mommy and Daddy, but it's also sad that we won't be with you every day."
"Sad?" Blaise bent down and looked at Griffin's big, toothy smile, chuckling softly. "You're so sad you almost laughed out loud."
Griffin clung to Blaise's hand, acting cute, "We really are sad. Why don't you live with us? We can all live together."
Cecily helplessly tapped Griffin's nose, "Do you think he'll spend his whole life with just you two? Won't he get married or have his own kids?"
Rowan looked up and weakly added, "But he said he doesn't want a wife. He wants to stay with us."
Cecily was taken aback, "He was joking. He's such a handsome guy. If he doesn't get married, how many girls would cry in secret, right?"
Cecily raised an eyebrow at Blaise, thinking he was just joking with the kids.
But Blaise stared at Cecily, lost in thought, and didn't respond immediately.
Seeing him dazed, Cecily waved her hand in front of his face, "Blaise?"
Blaise snapped out of it. "Yeah, I was joking."
Griffin pouted, "But if you have your own kids, will you still take us out to play?"
Blaise's eyes were filled with a deep sadness he hid well. He chuckled softly, "Of course I will. Why do you ask? Are you afraid I'll abandon you two?"
Griffin pouted, "It's not the same. If you have a wife and kids, you won't be able to take us out to play every day like before."
Even Rowan and Griffin knew that if Blaise got married and had children, he wouldn't just be their godfather.
He wouldn't be able to protect Cecily at any time like before.
Blaise raised an eyebrow and suddenly looked up at Cecily, staring into her eyes. In a low voice, he asked, "What about you?"
"What?" Cecily was confused.
"What do you think?"
Cecily blinked and looked at him seriously, "I hope you find happiness. When you get married, I'll definitely give my blessing."
Blaise lowered his eyes, his lips tightly pressed together. After a long time, he smiled, but it was a cold smile.
'Cecily, you know nothing.'
Blaise nodded and said, "Okay."
His voice was heavy, and after speaking, he left silently without saying goodbye or looking back.
Cecily wanted to call out to him, but no sound came out. She felt she might have said something wrong and sensed that Blaise was unhappy.
"Blaise seems unhappy," Rowan also noticed.
Griffin blinked and nodded.
Cecily pointed to herself, then looked at Rowan and Griffin, "Did I say something wrong?"
