Chapter 443 Regretting Deeply After Knowing the Truth

Freya yelled, making the already chaotic ward even worse. Bryan, already irritated, snapped, "Enough, Freya! How long are you going to keep this up? Isn't it messy enough?"

"Everyone, out!" Bryan shouted, pointing to the door.

The reporters, seeing Bryan's anger, quickly left. Sam hurried in to restore order. Freya, feeling wronged, pulled the blanket over her head and sobbed.

"Sir," Sam said cautiously.

"What is it?" Bryan asked.

"Mrs. Whitaker sent this for you," Sam said, handing him a manila envelope.

Bryan frowned and took out the papers. As he read, his expression darkened with each page. The documents showed Freya's name linked to the assassin, contradicting Jennifer's claim that Freya knew nothing about it.

Bryan looked at Freya, feeling drained. After a long silence, he spoke, "Freya, I know your mother's death is tied to Vivienne, but it wasn't Cecily or Vivienne who pushed her. You know why things got this bad. Think about the consequences before harming others. People will retaliate."

Vivienne's retaliation was something Jennifer and Freya couldn't handle. Jennifer and Freya hired assassins to target Cecily, crossing Vivienne's line. Jennifer's actions led to her own downfall.

Bryan looked at Freya, who had been like a daughter to him for years. He realized he had spoiled her too much.

"If you still see me as your father, stop making a fuss. It won't help you. Get some rest."

With that, Bryan left the ward.

In the shadows, Josep, Olivia, and Aurelia watched. They weren't surprised the reporters were kicked out. They came to inform Freya about Jennifer's death, expecting her to react this way.

"Dad, is Freya even useful? Her mom got killed; she shouldn't just let it go," Aurelia said, smiling with satisfaction.

Jennifer and Freya had plotted against her to get to Cecily, hoping to benefit. Now, Jennifer was dead because of Freya's schemes. It was satisfying.

The best part was seeing Cecily getting bashed online. Aurelia was thrilled to see them both miserable.

"Dad, how did I do this time?" Aurelia asked Josep, beaming.

But Josep seemed lost in thought and didn't respond.

Olivia noticed he was absent-minded, too. "Josep, what are you thinking about? Aurelia's asking you something."

Josep squinted. "I heard Bryan talking to Cecily about getting a blood sample. It seemed odd."

"Blood sample? What's so strange about that?" Aurelia looked puzzled.

Olivia asked, "Did you think of something?"

"Why would they need a blood sample?" Josep asked quietly.

"For a health check or something."

Josep chuckled. "Bryan was talking to Cecily just fine, then suddenly wants a health check? Does that make sense?"

"Then what else could it be?"

Josep's eyes followed the direction Bryan left. "DNA test."

"Paternity test?" Olivia and Aurelia's eyes widened.

Olivia asked again, "Are you saying Bryan wants a paternity test with Cecily?"

"Yes." Though it was just a guess, Josep couldn't think of another reason.

It didn't make sense for Bryan to suddenly want a health check for Cecily.

"Are you sure?" Olivia was skeptical. "Bryan and Vivienne are married, and Cecily is Vivienne's daughter. But Cecily's last name is Watson. Isn't she Raphael's daughter?"

"From my investigation, Vivienne and Raphael had a marriage of convenience. They did a DNA test with the Bennett family. Cecily isn't Raphael's daughter."

Olivia seemed to realize something big. "So, Cecily's biological father is unknown, and Bryan wants a paternity test to see if she's his daughter?"

Josep nodded. "That's right."

Olivia's eyes widened. "So, Cecily might be Bryan's daughter?"

"I’m not sure. Even Bryan doesn't know. How would I? I'm just guessing. Bryan wouldn't suddenly think of a paternity test for no reason."

Josep sneered, "This is getting interesting. If Cecily is Bryan's daughter, what does all Bryan's effort for Freya mean? He'll definitely regret it."
