Chapter 165 Never been Let off

Darian looked at the pitiful state of Ophelia, tightened his fists, and the waves of anger spread exponentially within him. 'Has Cecily lost her mind? How dare she? By doing so, she has angered the entire Flores family. Does she even understand what she will face?'

"Mr. Fitzgerald, Miss Ophelia is bleeding heavily, and her condition is not good."

Ophelia, sitting on the chair, was gasping for breath.

Darian forcefully closed his eyes. Right now, all he knew was that Ophelia must not die!

Darian suddenly lifted his foot and walked to Ophelia's side. He bent down and pulled out the dagger that was stuck in her leg, a dagger that the bodyguard didn't dare to remove.

Ophelia, who was on the verge of losing consciousness, trembled from the pain. She half-opened her eyes and saw Darian picking her up and quickly walking toward the exit.

Ophelia's lips turned pale, but her eye sockets were red, filled with tearful helplessness. She tightly bit her lip, displaying her pain and suffering vividly. "Darian, am I... going to die? It hurts so much, I'm really scared..."

Darian carried her hurriedly, moving toward the exit. "You won't die." How could she die? If she died, that insane woman Cecily would pay with her life.
"I'm so cold... it hurts, Darian..."

"Hang in there. We will be at the hospital soon."

Ophelia forcefully opened her eyes, looking at Darian. Although her body was in pain, her heart felt warmth for the first time. At least Darian was still concerned about her and still caring for her. She couldn't die. She had to stay alive to kill Cecily.

Darian rushed Ophelia to the hospital at the fastest speed. Watching Ophelia being taken into the emergency room, Darian's eyes turned completely cold.

"Mr. Fitzgerald." Larkin quickly walked to Darian's side and anxiously said, "The Flores family must have received the news, and they are rushing to the hospital." Darian furrowed his brow. "Where is Cecily?"

"Miss Cecily stood outside Rowan's hospital room."

Darian took off his blood-stained coat and threw it into the trash can before striding toward the intensive care unit.

His aggressive demeanor sent shivers down Larkin's spine.

Larkin quickly followed suit.

This situation was serious, and it was understandable that Darian was angry.

Without evidence, the Flores family would never let Cecily go after she harmed Ophelia.

Larkin worried for Cecily.

When Darian arrived, he saw Cecily standing by the visiting window, having a conversation with the doctor. Her expression was bleak, almost on the verge of collapse. However, Darian's anger overwhelmed his emotions, and he didn't notice Cecily's state.

After finishing the conversation with Cecily, the doctor shook his head and sighed before leaving.

Darian approached in long strides, grabbed Cecily's hand, and violently pushed her against the wall. "Cecily, have you gone crazy?"

Cecily, who already had injuries on her back, hit the wall hard, experiencing a dull pain.

Her face turned even paler.

"Why did you touch Ophelia?"

Cecily looked at the man before her, his face filled with coldness, and a cool smile curled up at the corners of her mouth. "What do you say? What do you mean by touching Ophelia? I have no idea."

"No idea? Cecily! Do you think you can hide this matter?"

"Well, go find evidence then. Once you find evidence, arrest me."

Darian squinted his dark eyes dangerously. "Ophelia's injuries and her words are evidence."

"Is that so? I am also injured. A killer chased me, and my child is now lying in the ICU. I can also say that Ophelia did all of this. Why can't all of this be considered evidence? Is it not laughable?"

Darian stared coldly at the stubborn woman before him, a hint of uncontrollable anger flashing in his eyes.

Cecily lifted her hand and slowly pried his fingers off her arm, forcefully pushing him away.

"She holds a grudge against me, so it's not normal for her to slander me, right?"

These words struck a familiar chord with Darian.

Because Ophelia often said the exact same things.

Every time something happened, that was the argument Ophelia used.

"Mr. Fitzgerald, instead of wasting time here, why don't you find evidence and then prosecute me for my crimes?"

"Heh." Darian laughed, but the amusement did not reach his eyes. What evidence was needed? Words that people believe in were evidence!

Darian felt anger rising in his heart as he looked at this audacious woman, and his icy stare could freeze anyone. "Some things don't need evidence. Saying it convincingly is the evidence itself."

Behind Ophelia stood the Flores family, Owen, and some people believed what she said.

Cecily had crossed the line now. The Flores family wouldn't let her go, and neither would Mr. Fitzgerald Sr.

"Yes, you're right. If someone believes it, then it's evidence. So what? Do you believe her and want to seek revenge for her?"

Cecily lifted her head, her gaze fixed on Darian.

"Do you think it's me who wants to seek revenge on you? It's the Flores family. They won't let you go."

Cecily clenched her teeth tightly, her eyes filled with irony.

Wouldn't let her go?

When had they ever let her go?

"Do you think they will spare me if I don't touch Ophelia?" Cecily shook her head bitterly and pulled Darian by the arm, bringing him to the observation window and pointing at the people inside.

"Darian, look, I never initiate conflicts, but my child is lying in there. If I don't provoke anyone, will my child be all right?"

"No, Darian, it's never like that. Even if I don't fight back, there are always schemes around me. What I want never comes true."

"A good person is always taken advantage of. I, Cecily, have been bullied by you all for three years. I've had enough. If she dares to harm my child, she will pay the price. No one can stop me."

She had never been let go, yet she was expected to let go of those who hurt her. Was that fair?

Was it possible for her to continue enduring silently?

She had never been let go, so she wouldn't let go of those who hurt her.

As Darian listened to Cecily's words, an unexpected sense of annoyance came over him.

Perhaps Cecily was not wrong.

However, she had no evidence, and her words carried no weight in this matter. On the other hand, Ophelia had the support of the Flores family and Mr. Fitzgerald Sr. With just a few words, Ophelia could make all these people go after her.

Setting aside the anger of the Flores family, Cecily was unable to defend herself against Mr. Fitzgerald Senior in any way.

Darian glanced deeply at her, then turned and left.

Cecily watched Darian's figure as his straight back bent, and she slowly squatted down. The unbreakable facade on her face crumbled, and she covered her mouth, sobbing softly.

'Darian, do you know that just now, the doctor issued a critical condition notice?'

'Rowan has been unconscious for forty-eight hours and is at risk of losing his life.'

'Do you even know that your son, your own flesh and blood, is about to die?'

'Why does the child have to suffer like this?'

'My child, my child...'
