Chapter 567: Scandal Exposed
"Fake or not, having this one chance is enough for me," Bryan grinned.
Cecily stared straight ahead, dodging Bryan's eyes. She spotted Vivienne in the crowd, watching them with a satisfied smile.
Vivienne gave her a nod, and Cecily smiled back. She parted her lips and said to Bryan, "This enough for you? What about when I marry Darian?"
Bryan paused, catching her drift, his eyes lighting up with joy.
Being able to actually give his daughter away was a dream come true.
Evander was already at the center of the stage, waiting for Cecily.
Seeing Cecily in her stunning white wedding dress, Evander couldn't muster any happiness.
Even though he had imagined this moment countless times.
Cecily looked at Evander. As they reached the center, all eyes were on them. Suddenly, someone in the crowd shouted, "Oh my God, look!"
"What's happening?"
"This is wild."
Guests below the stage, one by one, grabbed their phones, covering their mouths in shock.
More and more people were buzzing, "What are you talking about? What's so wild?"
"Check your phone, quick."
"Oh my God, is that Cecily?"
"Yeah, it is. No way it's fake. Turns out it's not just Evander messing around. No wonder they ended up together; they're a perfect match." The guests murmured.
Word spread fast, and soon everyone was glued to their phones.
Declan, sitting behind Darian, looked at his phone, eyes wide.
Hayden leaned over, pressing his hand on Declan's phone, his face going pale.
Declan's phone slipped from his hand, startling Darian in front of them.
Darian, who had a cold look, frowned and glanced back at the panicked Declan and Hayden.
He seemed to ask, "What are you doing?"
Declan and Hayden shook their heads frantically, quickly picking up the phone. Seeing the video still playing, Declan hurriedly turned it off.
Darian, uninterested in their antics, turned back around.
Hayden and Declan exchanged looks.
Finally, Hayden whispered, "What's going on? How do you have this kind of video?"
Declan was anxious, "What do you mean? The video is online, and everyone has seen it."
Hayden's playful look vanished, his face tense, "Did you see clearly? Is it Cecily?"
Declan looked bitter, "I didn't, but it sure looks like it!"
At that moment, Larkin hurried over with his phone, bending down and whispering to Darian, "Sir, something's up."
"What is it?" Darian asked.
"It's about Mrs. Fitzgerald," Larkin said, handing the phone to Darian.
Darian glanced at it briefly, his face instantly darkening.
Larkin felt a chill run down his spine.
"Find out when that video was taken and who the guy is, pronto," Darian ordered.
Larkin nodded, "Yes, right away. But sir, who’s the person in the video?"
Darian's cold stare pierced through Larkin, "Do you think it could be Cecily?"
"Of course not, it can't be! I'll get on it now." Larkin quickly dismissed any wild thoughts.
If it really was Cecily in that video, Darian would’ve lost it by now, not stayed this calm.
Larkin hurried off to dig up the details.
Aurelie, sitting next to Vivienne, covered her mouth in shock as she looked at her phone, then handed it to Vivienne, "Aunt Vivienne, something bad’s going down."
Vivienne took one look and shook her head confidently, "Don't freak out, this isn't Cecily."
She glanced over at Darian, seeing he had already sent someone to investigate. Feeling a bit relieved, she turned her attention back to the stage.
The wedding on stage continued, but the crowd below was buzzing with whispers and chaos.
Percy was still watching Evander take Cecily's hand as they walked to the front of the stage together.
Percy clapped his hands in satisfaction, but no one joined in.
"Why is Mr. Lockwood still so happy? Is he out of his mind?" a guest wondered.
Someone replied, "The Lockwood family really hit the jackpot this time."
"That's not right. Isn't Evander the same? The couple is a perfect match."
"Who says otherwise?"
The constant chatter and mockery reached Karen's ears. She turned to look at the people behind her.
They pursed their lips and smiled, "Mrs. Lockwood, your family really scored with this daughter-in-law, congrats."
Karen didn't buy their sincerity; it felt more like mockery.
She didn't know what had happened or why people were saying this, but she could tell something was off.
Percy also sensed something was wrong. His previously smiling face now frowned.
Landon saw everyone looking at their phones and pulled out his own to check. His face turned pale.
"What happened?" Percy saw the discussions growing louder, and everyone seemed to be looking at them like they were a joke.
No matter how hard Percy tried to stay calm, he couldn't keep his cool.
Just as Percy asked, the romantic music suddenly cut off, replaced by the low moans of a man and woman getting it on.
Percy's face darkened, and he shot up from his seat. The large screen on the stage went black, then a video of a man and woman making love appeared.
The man in the video was unidentifiable, but the woman, though her eyes were covered with a white cloth, was clearly Cecily!
Percy's pupils contracted sharply.
Cecily and Evander also turned to look at the screen, the high-definition video suddenly coming into view.
