Chapter 481 Blaise Beats Up Darian

Sawyer paused before saying, "No, after Miss Watson left, I went in to give Owen some water. He seemed fine then."

Josep immediately got angry and grabbed Sawyer by the collar. "What are you talking about?"

Josep had never expected Sawyer to turn on him now.

"How am I talking nonsense?" Sawyer asked innocently.

Josep gritted his teeth, staring at Sawyer.

Sawyer lowered his voice. "Josep, Owen found some things before he died. I still have them."

Josep's face changed.

He had searched Owen's room for evidence linking him to Patrick's death but found nothing. Given Cecily's stance, it wasn't with her either, so it had to be with Sawyer.

Sawyer was the only one who knew everything and could prove it.

Now that Sawyer was holding all the evidence, Josep felt a chill down his spine.

Sawyer stayed calm.

Josep gritted his teeth, the veins in his hand bulging as he gripped Sawyer's collar.

Sawyer was now more dangerous than Cecily. If he revealed the evidence, Josep was done.

Josep suppressed his anger and let go of Sawyer's collar, smoothing it out and forcing a smile. "You didn't say anything wrong."

Kevin jumped in, "So you're the one lying, Josep. Why are you framing Miss Watson?"

Josep couldn't answer, and Sawyer added, "Josep wasn't home. Maybe a panicked servant gave him wrong info, causing him to get the wrong idea about Miss Watson."

Sawyer was helping Josep again.

Cecily was puzzled. Sawyer had helped her but also lied to help Josep. What was his game?

Josep secretly sighed in relief.

"Even if Cecily had nothing to do with my dad's death, he wouldn't have given her all his shares," Josep insisted.

Paul stood up and asked Cecily, "Miss Watson, can you show us the share transfer agreement?"

"Of course." Cecily handed it over. After examining it, everyone confirmed the signature was Owen's.

Paul held the agreement. "Everyone can see the signature is Owen's. Sawyer's statement also proves Miss Watson had nothing to do with Owen's death, and Owen was fine when she left. This shows that Owen willingly gave the shares to Miss Watson."

Josep slammed the table and stood up. "Paul, how much did Cecily pay you? That might be my dad's signature, butwho can prove he wasn't forced to sign?"

"Do you have proof he was coerced?"

Josep's face twitched. "As Owen's son, I won't let his shares go to Cecily unless I'm dead. She won't get a single share."

The atmosphere grew tense.

Shareholders and board members started discussing the situation in small groups.

Kevin stood up.

"Since this is still controversial, why don't we discuss it later? Owen has just passed away, but you're all fighting over his money. It's inappropriate."

Kevin looked meaningfully at Josep, clearly directing his words at him.

Kevin walked over and patted Josep on the shoulder. "Josep, listen to me. What's yours will always be yours. Owen's funeral hasn't even happened yet. This isn't the time to fight over money. It looks bad."

Josep glared at Paul and Kevin. "How much did Cecily pay you two to back her up?"

"You can'taccuse us of anything. We're just stating the facts and following Owen's wishes."

Josep was furious, scanning everyone in the room. When he realized he couldn't win today, he snorted angrily and glared at Cecily.

"Cecily, you won't get those shares. You'll have to give them back. Just wait."

With that, Josep glared at Sawyer and stormed out.

Cecily watched Josep leave without saying a word. Although he hadn't succeeded today, she hadn't won either.

Without those shares in her name, she couldn't give them to Darian.

Josep wouldn't give up so easily, and Cecily didn't know what would happen next.

Cecily stood up, gave a grateful glance to Paul and Kevin, then put away the share transfer agreement and left the conference room. Catching up to Sawyer, she called out, "Sawyer, wait."

Sawyer's expression remained formal. "Miss Watson, is there something else?"

"Thanks for backing me up earlier."

Sawyer lowered his eyes. "I was just telling the truth. No need to thank me, Miss Watson."

"Telling the truth? Did you really?" Cecily knew he hadn't.

Sawyer had helped her, so the transfer agreement in her hand wasn't nullified. But he had also helped Josep cover up the truth.

Judging by Josep's reaction, he hadn't known Sawyer would help her, indicating they hadn't planned this together. Sawyer had turned on him at the last minute, catching Josep off guard.

So, why had Sawyer done that?

"Everything I said was the truth."

Cecily raised an eyebrow. "You're hard to read."

"Miss Watson, you must be overthinking it. I'm just a simple person. What's so hard to understand?"

Cecily looked at Sawyer. He remained calm but never looked her in the eye.

Was it a habit, or was he hiding something?

"Miss Watson, is there anything else? If not, I need to go back. There's still a lot to do for Owen's funeral."

"There's nothing else. Go ahead."

Cecily watched Sawyer's back. From today's events, it was clear that Sawyer wasn't on Josep's side, nor was he a straightforward person.

Her phone vibrated with a message.

It was from Freya. Just as Cecily wondered what trouble Freya was up to, her heart tightened.

The message was a photo of Freya taking care of Darian in the ward. In the photo, Freya looked as happy as if she had won the whole world.

"Is Darian cheating on you?"

A voice suddenly sounded behind her, startling Cecily. She clutched her chest and turned to see a handsome face.

"Tsk, you scare easily."

Cecily stared blankly at Blaise. "How did you get in here?"

Blaise raised an eyebrow. "I killed everyone in this building and broke in."

The chilling tone in his voice almost made Cecily believe him, but her surroundings were calm.

Cecily wasn't in the mood to joke. "Darian has amnesia."

Blaise almost laughed. "He's got amnesia again?"

Cecily walked into the elevator, and Blaise leisurely followed. Their good looks made them a stunning pair as they walked side by side, and the people in the elevator couldn't help but steal glances at them.

"What are you doing at Fitzgerald Group?" Cecily asked.

Blaise leaned casually. "Take a guess."

"I..."

Cecily wanted to say, "I don't want to guess," but Blaise smirked, his eyes amused. "Smart guess. I'm here for you."

Cecily fell silent.

Cecily chose to keep quiet as she notived the eyes on her in the elevator. As soon as the elevator doors opened, she quickly stepped out.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome. Where to? I'll give you a ride."

"The hospital."

Blaise leisurely followed the storming Cecily. "Going to catch him cheating?"

Cecily paused. Blaise's question was like a bucket of cold water. She instantly calmed down.

Right, what was she going to do?

Darian didn't remember her. Was she really going to storm in and catch him cheating?

Now that Cecily was calm, her face looked even worse.

Darian had amnesia and had called her a random person, kicking her out.

But he hadn't called Freya a random person, and it seemed she was allowed to take care of him.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got.

Blaise saw Cecily's murderous look. She looked as if she was about to storm the hospital and skin Darian alive. He watched her with a deepening gaze.

Suppressing her anger and finding every excuse for Darian, Cecily lifted her head and took a deep breath.

It was fine, Darian had amnesia. She could endure it.

Blaise stood aside when he saw Cecily's sadness, his face shadowed and looking particularly grim.

Cecily looked at Blaise. "Let's go home. I didn't get to thank you properly last time. Come to my place for dinner."

Blaise smirked, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Are you cooking yourself?"

When they got back home, Blaise regretted the suggestion.

Aurelie sat in the living room, nervously popping a grape into her mouth, almost choking at the sounds coming from the kitchen.

"Um, what is Cecily doing?" Aurelie cautiously asked the chef who had been kicked out.

The chef shuddered as well. "She's chopping cabbage."

"Chopping cabbage, huh?" So it was just cabbage, not a person.

Blaise's eyes darkened.

That evening.

The door to Darian's ward was kicked open, and Blaise stood at the entrance, the bright light casting a chilling aura over his face.

Freya stiffened. "Who are you?"

Darian's eyes fell on Blaise, who raised an eyebrow, anger flashing in his eyes. "You're living quite comfortably," he said, striding forward and raising his fist.

Darian's eyes turned cold as he dodged Blaise's punch. Blaise didn't let up, swinging his left fist again.

Darian noticed the people at the door watching and took the punch. Blaise frowned. "What? Have you forgotten how to fight back because of amnesia?"

Darian tasted blood in his mouth, glaring at Blaise. "Are you crazy?"

Darian and Blaise were evenly matched in strength, but Blaise's punches were more vicious, carrying a deadly intent. Darian fought back. The two were evenly matched.

Josep's men at the door deliberately didn't intervene immediately.

"Stop fighting." Freya watched the fight, too scared to intervene, only shouting uselessly from the side.

Finally, the people at the door stepped in to stop them. Both Darian and Blaise had injuries on their faces. Blaise's eyes were still filled with killing intent and he was not satisfied. He grippedDarian's collar. "Do you know why I'm hitting you? Cecily fought for shares for you at the board meeting, and you're here cozying up with an ugly woman. Do you think that's fair to her?"

Darian's expression was cold, devoid of any other emotion. "Who's Cecily? I don't know her. What does any of this have to do with me?"

"You can't remember and you don't know her, huh? Looks like I didn't hit you hard enough."

Darian and Blaise exchanged more punches.

More people gathered, and doctors came in to stop them. Only then did they separate, but Blaise's eyes still held a murderous glint. He smirked. "See you next time."

"Darian." Freya approached him with tears in her eyes when Blaise left, looking terrified.

Darian pushed Freya away, the coldness in his eyes startling her.

"Did Darian get into a fight?" Josep, who had been fuming at home, frowned upon hearing the news.

"Yes, I heard it was Blaise, and he came for Cecily."

"What was Darian's reaction?"

Mark replied, "He said he didn't know Cecily, and then they fought even harder."

"He didn't show any unusual behavior?"

"No unusual behavior."

Josep squinted his eyes. Today's events felt off to him.

He walked to the liquor cabinet, grabbed a bottle, and poured himself a drink, but the anger in his heart wouldn't subside.

He had planned everything, thinking Cecily would be isolated without Darian, but he hadn't expected so many people to help her.

Logically, Cecily wasn't familiar with Fitzgerald Group. She couldn't have thought to contact people within the company to help her in such a short time, and Paul and Kevin had been with Owen for a long time.

Today, Paul and Kevin had worked together seamlessly. They hadclearly known the whole situation in advance, and had helped Cecily unconditionally.

The more he thought about it, the stranger it seemed.

Suddenly, a fierce glint flashed in his eyes. "Who do you think could have contacted Paul and Kevin to help Cecily?"

Mark thought quickly. "Maybe it was Owen before..."

"Impossible, he couldn't predict the future!"

Mark pursed his lips. He couldn't think of anyone else. Darian had amnesia and was in the hospital, unaware of these matters. Could it be Owen wasn't dead and was secretly helping Cecily?

That was even more impossible.

Josep gripped his glass tightly, gritting his teeth. "It's Darian!"

"But Darian has amnesia, and he's been in the hospital the whole time. He's had no chance to get involved in these matters," Mark said.

"What if he knew all along and was just acting for me?"

Josep's initial trust in Darian reignited with suspicion.

Something felt off everywhere.

"Someone is helping her, definitely." Josep was 100% sure.

Who was it? Was it Darian?

Josep felt restless. "Get someone to keep a close watch on Darian immediately. Also, have Freya stay by his side at all times and report everything he does to me."

Josep had placed Freya by Darian's side not just to test him but also to monitor him closely.

"Yes, I'll do it right away."

After giving all the orders, Josep still couldn't calm his anger. He pounded his fists on the table in frustration, grimacing in pain as a result.

Cecily knew Freya was doing it on purpose. In the following days, Freya kept sending her photos of herself with Darian.

Freya's smile in the photos was full of happiness and provocation. Cecily never replied but saved all the photos, planning to make Darian explain when he regained his memory.

"Don't be angry for the sake of the baby in your belly." Aurelie gently patted Cecily's still-flat stomach, softly comforting her, "If you're really angry, why don't you chop some cabbage? Blaise had someone send over ten pounds of cabbage."

After she had eaten cabbage for two days last time, Aurelie thought she could still eat it, as long as it helped Cecily vent her anger.

"I'm not angry." Cecily smiled. "I'll save it. When Darian gets better, I'll settle the score with him."
