Chapter 262 Finding a Professional Plastic Surgeon for Evaluation
Eliza glanced at the corridor's security camera as the three elders behind it monitored their every move.
Cecily and Eliza knew that the elders had left them alone to eavesdrop on their conversation.
From the moment they both appeared, the three elders of the Bennett family had already begun to distinguish the true from the false of their identities.
They had their suspicions at the moment. Eliza understood, and Cecily understood even better.
So Eliza wouldn't expose any flaws. "Are you not anxious when you ask me this question? Clearly, I am the real Cecily, and you, the imposter, dare to ask me this question?"
"We both know very well who is pretending," Cecily replied, her gaze icy as she stared at Eliza.
Eliza smirked, "It seems like you're still set on lying. Well, then, you can wait. I've already advised you, but you chose not to listen."
After saying that, Eliza was about to walk into the room.
Cecily looked at her retreating figure and spoke, "In fact, no matter how successful the plastic surgery is, there will always be traces left. A professional doctor can tell at a glance."
Cecily's voice was crisp and clear, her words distinct. Eliza heard it loud and clear, and so did the three elders in the monitoring room.
This sentence was also a reminder for them.
Eliza's back stiffened for a moment before she turned around and looked at Cecily, nodding gently. "You can bring a doctor for a close examination."
Cecily looked at the face that mirrored her own, a chilling feeling in her heart.
It was somewhat disgusting to see someone else with a face exactly like hers.
Eliza walked into the room, and Cecily didn't linger in the corridor either, turning to enter the room.
The three elders in the monitoring room took note of Cecily's words and sent someone to find a professional doctor to determine who had undergone plastic surgery.
With some progress made, the elders felt slightly more at ease.
When the Watson family arrived, it was already late, but in order to find out the truth as soon as possible, Desmond called them all over.
At this moment, Matilda, Raphael, Liora, and Elysia were all in the Bennett family's living room.
Raphael, Matilda and Elysia looked around the entire living room, their eyes filled with greed.
"Mom, this place is so much bigger than our home." Elysia leaned in next to Liora, her voice filled with excitement.
She wished she could live in a house like this.
Compared to the naive expressions of Liora and Elysia, Matilda remained calm. She sat in a wheelchair, wearing her most amiable expression when she saw the two Cecilys coming down the stairs.
She looked utterly shocked and unbelieving at the sight of them. "What?"
Liora and Elysia looked even more shocked than Matilda did. Elysia was so surprised that she stood up directly. "Cecily? You? Oh my! What's going on? Am I seeing things?"
Matilda looked back and forth between the two and couldn't help but ask, "What is going on? Who are you two? Why did you bring us here? And how did my Cecily become two?"
Cecily looked at Matilda, hoping that she would remain oblivious to everything. She hoped that her speculations were wrong. She hoped that her grandmother was still the loving grandmother she knew.
Raphael furrowed his brow and said, "Exactly, what is going on?"
Desmond spoke up, "Everyone, you are all family members who have lived with Miss Cecily since she was young. We've invited you guys here to help us identify who among them is impersonating the other."
After speaking, Desmond didn't look at the others but turned his gaze directly to Matilda and said, "Madam, could you please help us with this?"
Matilda seemed momentarily stunned before slowly shifting her gaze onto the two.
Eliza looked at the elderly woman, her lips curling slightly. She bent down and deliberately took out the crystal pendant. "Grandma, I'm Cecily."
Matilda's eyes flickered as she looked at Eliza, who subtly signaled at her.
Naturally, the elderly woman received and understood the signal. She averted her gaze and looked at the real Cecily.
She seemed to be carefully and earnestly discerning before reaching out to Cecily, pulling her hand into hers.
As Matilda held Cecily's hand, she also held Eliza's hand.
After much contemplation, she looked at Eliza and released Cecily's hand, saying, "This is my granddaughter Cecily. The crystal pendant she holds was given to her by me; there can be no mistake."
Listening to Matilda's resolute voice, Cecily, though she had anticipated it, still felt a wave of intense pain in her heart.
Indeed!
Eliza tightly grasped the elderly woman's hand, shooting Cecily a triumphant smile.
"Are you sure, Madam?" Desmond, seeing Matilda so certain, reminded her, "Matilda, having a crystal pendant doesn't necessarily mean it's genuine. It could also have been stolen. Please make sure to discern carefully."
Matilda nodded. "I am sure. There won't be any mistake. I've watched Cecily grow up. No one knows her better than I do. Even if there is an exact imposter, I would recognize her immediately. As for you..."
Matilda looked at Cecily and said, her tone heavy, devoid of the previous affection, "I don't know why you are pretending to be my granddaughter, but please, stop lying and leave on your own. Stop causing trouble.
"Cecily is Cecily, and you, an imposter, don't have the right to replace her."
Cecily gently pressed her lips together. Upon hearing these words, she couldn't reconcile the person in front of her with the loving grandmother she knew.
Was she sad?
She was very sad.
Desmond observed the expressions on everyone's faces: the determination of Matilda, the joy of the one confirmed, and the sadness of the one denied.
But it didn't seem like sadness.
Desmond looked at Cecily's face and her teary eyes. The expression was clearly one of disappointment, as if she couldn't understand why her closest person would hurt her.
But that disappointment disappeared quickly. In the blink of an eye, her face returned to its usual indifference, as if she had put on an indestructible armor.
Just then, a servant entered with a professional plastic surgeon.
