Chapter 591: Go Check on Aurelie
Nathaniel had just strolled into the living room when a teacup came flying at him. The cup nailed him right on the shoulder, and warm tea started to drip down, leaving a wet stain on his clothes.
Nathaniel raised his hand, caught the teacup, and walked in without a word.
In the living room, Terry was sitting on the couch, looking pissed. The guy next to him, pouring tea for Terry, shot Nathaniel a smirk.
That guy was Stanley Kensington, Nathaniel's brother.
Terry had been quite the ladies' man back in the day, with a bunch of women and, naturally, a bunch of sons. Besides Stanley, Nathaniel had two older brothers and three younger ones.
Nathaniel used to be the golden boy of Terry's sons.
But a ten-year stint in prison had turned the once-promising Nathaniel into the Kensington family's black sheep.
Nathaniel walked over and set the teacup on the table.
Terry took a sip of tea before speaking slowly, "You still got the guts to come back?"
"You called me back," Nathaniel shot back, cool as a cucumber.
Terry glared at Nathaniel, "Is that how you talk to me?"
"Then why don't you show me how I should talk?" Nathaniel said.
Terry's glare intensified, "Tell me what kind of mess you've been making out there? Do I need to remind you? Aurelie!"
Nathaniel's eyes went cold, "Just a girl to have some fun with. Is it worth dragging me back here to ask about her?"
"Just a girl for fun? Nathaniel, I've heard you're pretty into Aurelie," Stanley said, crossing his legs and lounging on the couch, raising an eyebrow as he stared at Nathaniel, his eyes full of mischief.
"And I heard she's pregnant. Lillian is fuming about that. With your wedding day so close, this scandal is a slap in the face to both the Kensington and Lewis families. What were you thinking?" Stanley taunted.
Terry's eyes darkened even more.
Nathaniel chuckled, "How many women have you knocked up on the side? There is always someone who pops up now and then. Doesn't your wife just look the other way? Why do you care if I have just one?"
Stanley stared at Nathaniel, a cold smile on his lips, "I just heard you're really into Aurelie. Even today, when her dad got into trouble, you personally went to save her. She must be special to you."
"So what if she is? Since when did you get so interested in the life of a black sheep like me?" Nathaniel looked calmly at Stanley.
At the mention of it, Stanley raised an eyebrow. The two stared at each other for a few seconds before Stanley laughed, "What are you talking about? Black sheep? Dad gave you the chance to marry into the Lewis family, showing how much he values you. How can you call yourself a black sheep? Clearly, you're the golden boy."
Stanley deliberately emphasized "golden boy," his words dripping with sarcasm.
Everyone knew Nathaniel's current status in the Kensington family.
Golden boy?
What a joke!
Terry slammed his teacup on the table, "Enough bickering!"
He stared at Nathaniel, "From now on, you're not allowed to see that girl named Aurelie again. The kid in her belly won't be acknowledged by the Kensington family. You need to deal with it ASAP. The Lewis family called me, asking to move up the wedding date. I agreed. Stay home during this time, and if you cause any more trouble with that girl, I won't let her stay in Silver Frost Capital, whether you care about her or not."
Nathaniel shot Terry a look, his eyes hiding a cold, murderous intent. He smirked, "Relax, the kid's already been taken care of. As for the wedding date, do whatever you want. No need to loop me in."
Terry squinted at him, weighing his words, "If the kid's gone, then cut ties with her."
"Not gonna happen," Nathaniel said flatly.
Terry glared, "You're gonna defy me over a woman?"
"I can't help it, she's the only one I'm interested in," Nathaniel replied, cool as ice.
Both men knew exactly what he meant.
Terry pursed his lips, staring at him for a long moment, "Fine, keep her around, but if you piss off the Lewis family because of her before the wedding, you'll face the consequences."
Nathaniel said nothing, just nodded and turned to leave.
Stanley smirked and looked at Terry, "Dad, you're just gonna let him walk away like that?"
Terry explained, "Nathaniel was a threat to all of you for a reason. I know what you did back then, and so does he. I helped you but left him out to dry. He resents the Kensington family. He's not as simple as he seems. He's a wolf, ready to bite us at any moment. Keeping a woman he cares about close is beneficial. He's shown us his weak spot. With Aurelie, controlling him will be much easier."
Stanley smiled, "You always think ahead."
"Go check on Aurelie," said Terry.
Stanley had the same idea.

The Lewis family mansion.
"Lillian, the Kensington family has agreed to move up the wedding date. Terry even apologized on Nathaniel's behalf and promised to keep him away from Aurelie," Laura said to Lillian, who was sulking on the couch.
Lillian's expression didn't change, and she snorted, "What good are promises? Nathaniel cares so much about that woman. You think a promise will keep him away from her? Ridiculous."
"The Kensington family has shown a good attitude in their apology. Don't be mad anymore. Once you marry Nathaniel, you'll be his wife no matter what. And as for Aurelie, you don't need to be upset over her," Laura tried to persuade Lillian.
Lillian liked hearing this. No matter what, she would be Nathaniel's wife, and Aurelie would be nothing. If she kept clinging to Nathaniel, she'd just be the third wheel, despised by everyone.
Lillian smiled, raised her chin slightly, and her eyes were full of pride.
"Mrs. Lewis, Ms. Lewis, someone from the Miller family is here," a servant came in and said.
"The Miller family? Joshua is dead, and instead of handling his affairs, they come to our house? What do they want?" Laura frowned.
"They said they're here to beg Ms. Lewis for help," the servant replied.
Lillian rolled her eyes, "Help? For what? Tell them to leave."
"I tried, but they won't go. They're making a scene at the door, saying they won't leave until they see you," the servant said, looking troubled.
Laura frowned, knowing these people could be a nuisance. If they didn't see them, they might cause a scene at the door, which would be embarrassing, "Let them in."
"Mom?"
"It's better to make things clear to them, so they don't keep causing trouble at our door," Laura said.
Lillian thought Laura made sense and agreed to let them in.
Barbara came in with Nicole and John. Lillian looked at them disdainfully, "Mrs. Miller, what are you doing? Making a scene at our door. If you're not embarrassed, we are."
