Chapter 692 What Should You Call Me?
Giselle lifted her chin, her smile growing more pronounced.
She stepped forward, looking at the members of the Vasquez family and the manager, and said, "You didn't need to come out to greet me; I just arrived as well."
Their gazes lingered on Giselle's face for a moment before quickly shifting away.
"Miss Bennett, we're not looking for you."
"Not me?" The smile on Giselle's face visibly stiffened.
"How could it not be Giselle?" Her friend Cecilia stepped forward and asked directly, "If it's not Giselle, then who could it be? Could it be that Ms. Bennett who just returned to the Bennett family? If so, you came out for nothing; she didn't even show up."
"Who said I didn't come?" Cecily said calmly.
At these words, everyone's eyes turned to her.
Giselle's face grew increasingly unpleasant.
The woman who had just called Imogen saw Cecily speak and walked forward with her arms crossed. "Are you kidding? Have you ever seen Ms. Bennett? How dare you impersonate Ms. Bennett? Are you really crazy? Well, someone like you, who tried to sneak into the party with a fake invitation, wouldn't hesitate to impersonate someone else."
Cecily chuckled. "I really am."
"How ridiculous! Does anyone believe her?" Imogen sneered at the others.
The onlookers glanced at Cecily's unbranded, ordinary dress and shook their heads. How could Ms. Bennett wear such a plain dress, especially with a fake invitation?
"Stop joking. Ms. Bennett is not someone you can impersonate. Do you know what kind of family the Bennett family is? Do you know the consequences of impersonating Ms. Bennett?"
"Exactly, it's disgraceful. Just leave. First, you tried to sneak in with a fake invitation, and now you're impersonating Ms. Bennett. It's shameless."
"She probably doesn't even know what kind of family the Bennett family is, yet she dares to impersonate Ms. Bennett here."
The crowd chattered, looking at Cecily with increasing disdain.
Cecily didn't rush to say anything, her gaze falling on Giselle from a distance.
Giselle pressed her lips tightly together, her mouth twitching as if she wished she could disappear, not saying a word.
Griffin listened to the chatter and covered his face. "Crazy."
Imogen sneered at Cecily, continuing to mock her, "See? Does anyone believe you? Do you see how clumsy your lie is? Hurry up and leave, or I'll have someone throw you out."
Cecily ignored her and slowly walked towards the silent Giselle.
Standing in front of Giselle, their eyes met, and Giselle saw the coldness in Cecily's eyes.
Giselle bit down hard on her molars.
Cecily chuckled coldly. "Why aren't you speaking? When did you become mute?"
Giselle's molars were about to shatter; Cecily was definitely approaching her on purpose.
"What are you doing?" Imogen walked over and pushed Cecily. "First, you impersonate Ms. Bennett, and now you're approaching Giselle. What do you want to do?" Then she shouted at the security, "Get her out! She's ruining the party."
As Imogen's words fell, the surrounding security guards indeed stepped forward. "You all should leave immediately and stop causing a scene."
Cecily's face turned cold, still staring at Giselle, waiting to see how long she could play mute.
Seeing Cecily not cooperating, Imogen raised her voice, "Go on."
The security guards stepped forward. "Since you won't cooperate, we have no choice."
As they reached out to grab Cecily, her bodyguards, who had been protecting her from the shadows, rushed out, grabbing the hotel security's hands and quickly subduing them.
"What are you doing? Where did you come from?" Imogen was dumbfounded, seeing the security guards pinned to the ground.
Cecily remained calm, showing no emotion. As everyone was confused, Cecily looked at Giselle and spoke again, "Miss Bennett, what should you call me?"
Giselle felt a chill down her spine under Cecily's gaze. She clenched her hands tightly, finally showing a hint of panic in her eyes.
She had deliberately remained silent, letting Imogen and Cecilia mock and ridicule Cecily. Now, Cecily was forcing her to reveal her identity, leaving her with no way to explain.
Giselle was furious.
Cecily saw the panic in Giselle's eyes but had no intention of letting her off. She stepped forward and continued to ask, "Miss Bennett, what should you call me? Didn't you call me quite affectionately before? Why are you mute today?"
Giselle bit her lip hard.
"Giselle, what's going on?" Cecilia, standing nearby, asked Giselle. Giselle was at a loss for words under Cecily's questioning, which was clearly unusual.
Giselle addressed Cecily as "Cousin" under her breath.
"What?" Cecilia's eyes widened in disbelief. "What did you call her?"
The surrounding noise prevented others from hearing Giselle's voice, but Cecilia, standing next to her, heard it clearly.
The woman was really Ms. Bennett.
Cecily heard Giselle's barely audible voice and sneered, "Louder, I can't hear you."
