Chapter 632 Negotiating the Acquisition of Kensington Group

"Dad," Stanley walked over to Terry, leaned in, and whispered, "What's this meeting really about?"

He had a bad feeling about this.

Terry patted his shoulder, "Just sit down first."

Right then, the conference room door swung open, and in walked Nathaniel, looking sharp in a black suit.

Seeing Nathaniel made Stanley even more uneasy, "What are you doing here? Haven't you messed up the company enough?"

Before Nathaniel could reply, Terry cut in, "I called him here. Sit down, I have an announcement."

Stanley's eyes narrowed, "What announcement?"

He had a hunch but didn't want to believe it until Terry stood up and declared that Nathaniel would be the new heir to Kensington Group, handling all its affairs. Stanley felt like he was in a bad dream.

Under Stanley's shocked gaze, Nathaniel took a seat next to Terry, looking calm, a stark contrast to Stanley's furious expression.

Stanley couldn't believe it, "Dad, you can't be serious!"

"I'm dead serious. This is final. Kensington Group will announce that Nathaniel is the heir, and I'm giving him ten percent of my shares to make up for his ten years in prison."

Terry's tone was firm. It wasn't what he wanted, but he knew it was the only way to save Kensington Group.

"I don't agree." Stanley slammed his fist on the table, "He's an illegitimate child, a criminal who spent ten years in prison. How can he be the heir of Kensington Group?"

Stanley pointed angrily at Nathaniel, but Nathaniel just looked back calmly.

The winner was clear.

"Shut up," Terry slammed the table, "This is final. No more discussion. Anyone else have any objections?"

The board members and shareholders murmured among themselves.

They figured Terry was doing this to get through the current crisis. Nathaniel's position in Kensington Group was shaky, and he'd been in prison for ten years. They didn't know what he was capable of.

Once the crisis was over, Terry would probably rally everyone to replace Nathaniel.

With that in mind, everyone nodded in agreement.

Terry stood up, "Since no one has any objections, it's settled. Serafina Nightingale, you can announce this to the media. Meeting adjourned."

As Terry turned, he glanced at Nathaniel and lowered his voice, "I hope you keep your word."

Nathaniel smiled and nodded slightly.

Nathaniel knew Terry was just trying to stabilize him to get through the crisis and then find a way to kick him out.

But Nathaniel wasn't going to give them that chance.

Everyone had guessed Terry's plan, but Stanley was too blinded by anger to see it. He lunged forward to attack Nathaniel.

Everyone around was stunned and quickly moved to hold Stanley back.

Kensington Group was now in Nathaniel's hands, and they needed him to fix the mess. If Stanley attacked Nathaniel and Nathaniel decided not to help, they'd be in deep trouble.

"Stanley, chill out. Don't do anything rash. You guys are brothers. You should apologize to Nathaniel and ask for his forgiveness," one shareholder urged.

"Yeah, man, you're brothers. Whatever beef you have, it's been years. Settle it, Stanley. Apologize to Nathaniel. This is on you," another added.

Everyone tried to calm Stanley down because they knew pissing off Nathaniel wasn't a smart move right now.

But Stanley wasn't having it. He angrily shook off their hands, "Get lost, you traitors. I've always treated you well, and now you're all backing this illegitimate guy to run Kensington Group. You're all shameless!"

Stanley was fuming.

Nathaniel stayed calm, his eyes steady as he looked at Stanley.

"I won't let you get away with this," Stanley threatened him in front of everyone.

Nathaniel knew Stanley was genuinely pissed and planned to fight him.

There would be a showdown between them eventually, but Nathaniel had bigger fish to fry first.

Terry announced to the public that Nathaniel would be the heir to Kensington Group and that he would give Nathaniel ten percent of the shares as compensation.

The news was met with skepticism because Nathaniel hadn't said anything online. He didn't say he'd forgiven Terry and Stanley, nor did he confirmed Terry's announcement.

So speculation continued online, with most people thinking Terry was just bluffing and that the announcement was fake.

Two days after the announcement, it had no effect. Kensington Group's stock kept dropping.

Nathaniel did nothing, and Terry grew more anxious. But that wasn't the worst of it.

Soon, a wave of buried scandals involving Kensington Group broke online, exposing years of Terry's shady business practices.

Public outrage grew, and Kensington Group became the target of widespread criticism. Terry and Stanley each had their scandals and became the subjects of public scorn.

Nathaniel seemed to think this wasn't enough. He let the situation simmer for a week, during which Kensington Group's stock hit rock bottom, and the company was on the brink of bankruptcy within two weeks.

At this moment, Nathaniel sat in Darian's office. Two of them were discussing the price for acquiring Kensington Group.

From the start, Nathaniel had never wanted to take over Kensington Group. He didn't care for it.

His goal had always been to destroy Kensington Group, the thing they cared about most.
