Chapter 410 Is Bryan My Biological Father?
"Bryan, help! Freya tried to kill herself."
Bryan's pupils contracted sharply.
Jennifer continued to cry out, "She said she did something bad, that she let Cecily down, and she let you down too. She said she doesn't deserve to be your daughter. She even said she would atone for Cecily, and if Cecily couldn't forgive her, she would be willing to die. What should I do, Bryan? Freya is my only daughter. Why does she have to be driven to death?"
"Where are you now? Take her to the hospital immediately, I'll be there soon."
Bryan hung up the phone, his gaze filled with pain as he looked at Cecily. "Freya tried to kill herself. Are you satisfied now?"
Cecily's mouth twitched.
'Freya's suicide is my fault?' she wondered.
Bryan said nothing more, gave Vivienne a deep look, and turned to leave quickly.
Vivienne stepped forward and asked, "Cecily, what exactly happened?"
Cecily pursed her lips and replied, "Last night, Freya drugged me at the Fitzgerald Manor, and today I exposed her. Maybe she planned to die to gain sympathy."
Cecily let out a silent, cold laugh, summarizing the situation simply.
Vivienne didn't seem surprised that Jennifer and Freya would resort to such measures.
After all, it wasn't the first time.
And it always worked.
"Mom, I want to ask you something." Cecily looked at Vivienne seriously.
Vivienne nodded. "Go ahead."
"Is Bryan my biological father?"
Vivienne frowned, her hand at her side tightening and loosening repeatedly.
Seeing Vivienne's silence, Cecily became more certain of her suspicions.
Finally, Vivienne said, "You've guessed it."
As expected.
Her guess was correct.
Cecily's heart sank. At that moment, she didn't know how to respond.
She knew who her biological father was, but there was already someone else by his side who had become his cherished daughter.
And now, in his eyes, she was the villain who drove his precious daughter to death.
Cecily sighed.
She still felt a bit sad.
Growing up in the Watson family, she never received fatherly love from Raphael. She used to envy Elysia because Raphael loved her so much.
At that time, she didn't understand why, as daughters, they were treated so differently.
Later, when she found out Raphael wasn't her biological father, she was happy and looked forward to meeting her biological father.
Now she knew.
But it wasn't what she had imagined.
Maybe she really didn't deserve a father's love.
Cecily smiled bitterly.
"Cecily."
Cecily hid all her emotions. When she looked up, she smiled faintly and said, "It's not worth it."
She was used to not having a father's love. It was like that before, and she didn't care now.
Vivienne looked at Cecily with a heartache.
Cecily had endured too much for her.
Cecily's face had regained some of its usual indifference, and she smiled lightly.
Darian stood aside, watching Cecily's calm demeanor, his deep black eyes darkening.
His gaze was so intense that Cecily glanced at him, not wanting him to worry about her. So she gave him a faint smile on her beautiful face.
She hid her emotions well, but Darian still noticed the faint trace of sadness in her eyes.
When Bryan arrived at the hospital, Freya had just been taken in for a stomach pump. The doctor said she had taken an entire bottle of sleeping pills and was in critical condition.
When Jennifer saw Bryan, her light sobbing turned into fragile weeping.
"Bryan, you're finally here. The doctor said Freya's in danger. What exactly did Cecily say to her that drove her to do such a foolish thing? If anything happens to Freya, I really can't go on living."
Bryan knew Jennifer was anxious, and so was he was.
"Calm down for a moment. How is she now?"
"She's still having her stomach pumped."
"Don't worry. Freya will be fine."
Jennifer nodded vigorously, looking at the closed door with pursed lips.
Bryan frowned and glanced at Jennifer. "Freya said you were sick? Is it serious?"
"I have a bit of a fever. Freya was so worried about me that she went to find you."
"I understand. You don't need to explain. Right now, Freya is the priority."
Freya woke up in the evening after having her stomach pumped.
Seeing Freya's pale face, Bryan's heart tightened.
"Dad, Mom, am I still alive?"
Freya had just woken up and was weak, speaking feebly.
Jennifer's eyes were red from crying. "What are you talking about? You're alive and well. How could you think of doing such a foolish thing? If anything happens to you, what will I do?"
Seeing Jennifer cry, Freya also started to cry. "Mom, I'm sorry, but I really can't forgive myself for doing such a terrible thing. Even though Cecily is fine, I still can't forgive myself. I know Cecily won't forgive me."
Bryan frowned. "But you can't harm yourself like this."
Freya looked at Bryan with trembling eyes and asked, "Dad, I'm sorry for making you and Mom worry. Has Cecily forgiven me?"
Bryan looked at Freya's hopeful face and frowned slightly. "Don't worry. I won't let her bother you again."
Freya lowered her eyes in disappointment. "So Cecily still hasn't forgiven me. Dad, I'm sorry for putting you in a difficult position."
At this moment, Freya's face was pale, and she looked both pitiful and aggrieved. Coupled with her words, it was impossible to blame her.
Bryan sighed. "You've already admitted your mistake. If she doesn't forgive you, that's her problem. No one will blame you."
Hearing Bryan say this, Freya's expression finally improved a bit.
"Get some rest and stop overthinking. I'll have Sam bring your dinner. I have some things to take care of, so I'll leave for now."
Freya's eyes flickered, and she tried to sit up. "Dad, won't you stay with me a bit longer?"
"I have things to do. I'll come back later. Get some rest."
With that, Bryan left, looking exhausted.
As the door closed, Jennifer and Freya's expressions changed instantly.
Jennifer looked at Freya with lingering fear. "Why did you really take a whole bottle of sleeping pills? Do you know how dangerous that was?"
Freya propped herself up, her eyes filled with determination. "Mom, you didn't see the scene. If I hadn't been hard on myself, Dad would have definitely sent us back to Riverview today. I can't go back."
"But you can't risk your life like that."
Freya smiled lightly. "But I'm fine now, aren't I? Mom, I discovered something incredible today."
"What?"
"A man came to see Vivienne today. Dad heard that he was Cecily's biological father and got really angry. He almost got into a fight with him."
Jennifer's eyes lit up. "Really? Is his name Wade?"
Freya nodded vigorously. "Yes."
"Then it's true. I heard them mention it during an argument before. Now things are getting interesting. Cecily being Vivienne's child with another man has always been a thorn in Bryan's side. Now that thorn has come out on its own, there's definitely going to be a good show."
