Chapter 328 Cecily's Blindness
Matthias didn't dare to argue and immediately lowered his head, "Miss, you're right, I deserve to die."
Eliza grabbed his collar, "You do deserve to die, but even if you die ten times, it won't make up for the mistake you made this time."
Matthias kept his head down. After finding that recording pen, he thought everything was foolproof. He never expected Cecily to hide a miniature camera in her necklace.
"Miss Cecily is really too insidious."
Eliza was furious.
"Miss, what should we do next?"
"What should we do?" Eliza angrily kicked him again, "You ask me what to do. How should I know?"
The video was in their hands; killing them was not an option, and letting them go was even worse.
Eliza was extremely angry and very annoyed.
"Miss, why don't you give her the same poison as Vincent so she has to rely on your antidote for the rest of her life? That way, she won't dare to reveal the video."
Eliza squinted her eyes, "Do you think I haven't thought of that? Do you think Cecily hasn't thought of that? She must have an expert in detoxification by her side; otherwise, how do you think she survived last time?"
"It was my ignorance."
Eliza hadn't come up with a countermeasure yet when a few gunshots rang out from next door.
Eliza's heart skipped a beat, "Not good."
As Eliza ran to the door, it was kicked open, and she barely avoided being knocked over.
"Sis, you go first." Vincent grabbed a gun and fired a few shots.
Cecily didn't delay either, taking down one person and running toward the door, bumping into Eliza.
Eliza's eyes turned fierce. She pulled out a bottle from her pocket and threw it at Cecily. Faced with the overwhelming powder, Cecily couldn't avoid it.
Cecily's eyes felt a strong burning sensation.
"Sis!" Vincent immediately rushed forward, raised his gun, and aimed at Eliza, pulling the trigger.
Eliza quickly pulled someone nearby to shield her.
The gun didn't fire; it was out of bullets.
Vincent didn't hesitate to throw the gun away, lifted his leg, and kicked hard. Eliza and her bodyguard were sent flying.
Eliza hit the wall hard, and the pain left her momentarily stunned.
"Sis?" Vincent bent down to check on Cecily.
Cecily only felt a burning pain in her eyes, making it impossible to open them, but now was clearly not the time to stop.
"We need to go," Cecily said, enduring the pain in her eyes.
"Okay, can you still walk?" Seeing Cecily couldn't open her eyes, Vincent bent down and carried her, running quickly.
Gunshots rang out behind them. Despite Vincent's speed, the dense gunfire still hit him in the shoulder.
Vincent grunted, gritted his teeth, and continued running with Cecily.
By now, it was completely dark outside, surrounded by dense woods.
Eliza stood up in a mess, glaring at the door, and roared, "Chase them! Don't let them escape."
If Cecily escaped, she was done for.
"Miss, don't worry. The terrain here is complex; they won't get out easily."
Eliza's eyes turned fierce, "They might not get out easily, but can you guarantee they won't get out forever?"
"Useless, why aren't you continuing the chase?"
"Yes."
Eliza gritted her teeth, looked at the bottle of powder she had just thrown in a panic, picked it up, and slowly, a smile curled on her lips.
She poisoned Cecily.
"Send everyone to chase them. An injured person carrying a blind one won't get far." Eliza strode out.
Darian had already tracked the car that took Cecily through surveillance, but there were no cameras in some remote areas, and the car disappeared from the footage. Darian was anxious.
At this moment, Griffin called him, and Darian answered, "Daddy, go save Mommy. She's in danger."
Darian frowned, "How do you know?"
He hadn't told Rowan and Griffin about this.
"I sent you a video. It's a bad woman who looks exactly like Mommy through plastic surgery who took her. She wants to kill Mommy. Daddy, go save Mommy."
Rowan and Griffin were crying anxiously when they saw Cecily's situation.
Darian's face was tense, "Don't cry, let me see."
Darian hung up the phone and opened the video. It was shot from Cecily's first-person perspective, facing Eliza.
After quietly watching the entire video, Darian remained silent, exuding a chilling calmness.
Even without seeing the video, Larkin in the front could tell from the sound that Cecily was in extreme danger.
The video froze at the last second, and Darian watched it repeatedly, observing the room's setup to identify Cecily's location.
Meanwhile, Eliza was still searching for Cecily in the mountains.
Vincent kept running with Cecily. The dim moonlight shone on the overgrown path. Vincent was injured, his stamina depleted, and his speed slowed.
They were unfamiliar with the terrain, and the dense trees made it easy to lose their way.
"Vincent, put me down." Cecily's voice trembled.
Vincent quickly put Cecily down, "Sis, are you okay?"
Cecily raised her head, struggling to blink her bloodshot eyes. The cold moonlight filtered through her fingers, and gradually, her blurred vision turned completely dark.
"I..." Cecily repeatedly waved her hand in front of her eyes, finally realizing her blindness wasn't temporary.
Losing her sight made her ears more sensitive. She couldn't adapt to the blindness, and any slight noise made her panic.
Vincent noticed Cecily standing still and realized something. He cautiously reached out to her face and gently waved his hand in front of her eyes.
Her beautiful eyes showed no reaction.
"Sis, are you..."
"I can't see." Cecily felt panicked, fear spreading, but her expression remained calm because it wasn't the time to panic; they hadn't escaped Eliza's pursuit yet.
Cecily reached out, and Vincent immediately took her hand.
Cecily bit her lip, "It's the powder Eliza threw. I can't see now, so I'll rely on you."
"I'll risk my life to get you out."
Cecily shook her head, "I came to save you, hoping we could continue living together. We must leave together."
"Okay."
The feeling of blindness was terrible. She couldn't see anything, just darkness, with unknown dangers everywhere.
She heard footsteps on the ground behind her.
"Keep searching." It was Eliza's voice.
"They just ran that way."
Vincent was about to run with Cecily when she suddenly slipped.
They slid down, and the sudden loss of balance almost made Cecily scream, but she held it in.
"Where are they? There was a noise here just now; they can't be far. Keep searching."
The voices were right above them. Hearing the number of people, they held their breath, not daring to make a sound.
"Miss."
"Where are they?"
"They were just here, but now they're gone," Matthias reported.
Eliza, "Search. They must be nearby."
"Yes."
Eliza slowly walked forward with a flashlight.
Hearing the approaching voices, they grew more nervous.
Just as Eliza was about to get close, a sudden phone call broke the silence.
Eliza stopped, took out her phone, and saw it was Desmond calling.
Letting it ring a few times, she answered, "Desmond, what's up?"
"Come to the Bennett family immediately."
Eliza's eyes flickered, "Is something wrong?"
Desmond's voice was very serious, "Come and see for yourself."
Desmond's call to the Bennett family made Eliza's heart race at this critical moment.
