Chapter 661 She Was Also Moved
Darian pulled Cecily over to the car and opened the passenger door, just then noticing the nearby chatter.
They were talking about his fancy car. Darian glanced over at them and said, "It's my wife's car. I'm just living off her now."
The crowd went silent.
Cecily heard someone say, "Such a handsome guy living off a woman! That lady must be loaded. He's probably her boy toy."
Cecily coughed a bit, feeling uneasy.
But Darian stayed cool, like being misunderstood and gossiped about while with her was no big deal.
"Don't forget my allowance when we get home," Darian said with a grin.
Cecily motioned for him to get in the car quickly.
Once they were driving away, Cecily looked at him, "Why'd you say that? Now people have the wrong idea."
"See, this way no one else will be interested in me," Darian smiled.
Cecily couldn't help but laugh, "You really don't care about being talked about like that?"
Most guys wouldn't want to be seen as a kept man.
Darian didn't answer right away. He stopped at a red light, turned to her, and smiled calmly, "I don't mind as long as being with you. No matter what they say, I'm yours."
Cecily propped her chin with her hand, smiling at him, "You're getting pretty smooth with your words."
"Am I?" Darian leaned over, lifted her chin, and gave her a gentle kiss, "Only for you."
Cecily's heart fluttered, and her face turned red.
Watching the car leave, Giselle stood there, squinting, lost in thought.
When Giselle saw Darian at noon, she thought he was incredibly handsome. But she wasn't just about looks. Seeing Darian's attitude and affection towards Cecily, Giselle stood silently, clenching her fists.
With just one sentence from Cecily, Darian immediately declared he had a wife and even joked about being kept by her. Without Cecily having to lift a finger, he shut down any thoughts other women might have about him, leaving Cecily worry-free.
Any woman would be proud to be loved and cherished like that.
Giselle had to admit, she was moved, just like the other women around her.
That evening, in the big Bennett family dining room, it was just Cecily and Darian eating, making it feel a bit lonely.
Darian served Cecily some food, but she just picked at it, clearly worried about Vivienne.
Seeing her barely eating, Darian thought maybe the food wasn't to her liking.
He tried a bite himself and found it pretty good. These were all dishes she usually enjoyed.
"This steak is really good, give it a try," Darian said, cutting a piece and placing it in her bowl.
Cecily picked up the steak with her fork, took a bite, and nodded, "Yeah, not bad."
Seeing this, Darian decided to keep feeding her. Noticing the food being brought to her mouth, Cecily snapped back to reality and looked at him, "What are you doing?"
"You skipped lunch yesterday, barely ate dinner, didn't eat much today at noon, and now you're not eating again. Aren't you hungry?" Darian could see what was on her mind.
"I don't seem to be very hungry." Cecily didn't know what was wrong with her. She hadn't eaten much lately but didn't feel hungry.
"Come on, just a little," Darian said patiently, trying to coax her.
Cecily smiled helplessly, "I feel like you're coaxing Griffin now."
Griffin also didn't like eating and always needed coaxing. Cecily would often leave this task to Darian, who would stare at Griffin until he ate.
"I'm not this patient with Griffin. Open your mouth," Darian said.
Cecily took a bite, but the next moment she suddenly felt a wave of nausea. She quickly stood up, covered her mouth, and ran to the bathroom.
Darian immediately put down his utensils and quickly followed.
Cecily dry-heaved, but nothing came out. The nausea passed quickly. Darian walked in with a worried look, "Are you feeling unwell?"
"I'm fine now." Cecily rinsed her mouth, tidied herself up, and walked out of the bathroom.
Darian frowned slightly, his eyes filled with concern.
Seeing his worried expression, Cecily joked, "You look like I have some serious illness. I'm really fine. Maybe the dinner was a bit greasy. I'll go back to have some soup."
Cecily returned to the dining table, served herself a bowl of soup, and started sipping it slowly.
Darian watched her for a while. Seeing she had no further discomfort, he finally relaxed.
After dinner, Darian accompanied Cecily for a walk in the garden. The weather was nice, with bright stars in the sky. Walking slowly together, they felt a sense of happiness.
After the walk, they returned to the living room where Desmond was already waiting for Cecily. He had a document in his hand, presumably to give to Cecily. Seeing her return, he stood up and walked over.
