Chapter 658 The Ridiculous Giselle

Cecily turned to Giselle, "Hey, did you and Darian have a little misunderstanding just now?"

Giselle's mouth twitched, feeling choked up and unable to speak for a bit.

After a moment, she forced a smile, "Nah, it's nothing."

"Alright then." Cecily bent down, picked up the phone from the ground, and handed it to Giselle. "If there's any misunderstanding, it's better to clear it up."

"No misunderstanding, I just accidentally bumped into Mr. Fitzgerald." Giselle took the phone back, mentally kicking herself for being so clumsy.

"Got it." Cecily glanced at Darian. "Since it's nothing, we'll be heading out."

Giselle forced another smile, "Okay."

As Cecily was about to leave, Giselle couldn't help but call out, "Cecily, I didn't know he was your husband."

Cecily turned back with a smile, "I could tell. It's fine, don't worry about it."

Cecily walked off with Darian. Darian moved closer, trying to hold her hand, but Cecily pushed him away and shot him a glare.

Darian wrapped his arm around her waist, speaking softly, "Cecily, I'm really innocent here."

"Innocent of what?" Cecily asked.

"She grabbed me, you can't be mad at me," Darian said, sounding helpless.

Giselle stayed silent.

Everyone else was quiet too.

Was this the Darian they knew? They could hear a hint of grievance in his voice. What was going on?

Giselle clenched her fists, feeling utterly humiliated.

The worst part was that the humiliation came from Cecily.

She had always looked down on Cecily. Even though Cecily was now the eldest daughter of the Bennett family, she had returned midway. She used to be in the Watson family. Who knew what kind of upbringing she had there? How could she compare to someone who grew up in the Bennett family like her?

But she didn't expect Cecily to be so lucky, marrying such a rich husband.

She could tell that Darian treated Cecily very well.

Giselle took a few steps towards the private room, then turned back to look in the direction Cecily and Darian had left, her gaze falling on Darian's back, squinting, not sure what she was thinking.

Back in the private room, Giselle's face was tense. Hunter immediately noticed her mood and asked, "Who made you angry?"

"No one." Giselle lowered her head, absentmindedly playing with a fork.

Hunter, having only this one daughter, could read her emotions easily. "Come on, tell me, what happened?"

Giselle slammed the fork on the table, "Dad, why didn't you tell me Cecily's husband is Darian!"

Hunter looked at her, puzzled, "What's wrong? You never asked me before."

"I asked you about Cecily's situation before she returned to the Bennett family. You told me she was divorced with two kids, blind, and couldn't stay in Silver Frost Capital, so she came back to Detroit." Giselle was still fuming, feeling humiliated in front of Cecily and Darian.

"She was indeed divorced with two kids, blind, and couldn't stay in Silver Frost Capital, so she returned. I didn't lie to you." Hunter was confused.

"That's not true. Her current husband is Darian. You said she was divorced before. Would someone like Darian marry a divorced woman with two kids?" Giselle couldn't wrap her head around it.

"She was divorced, but her ex-husband is Darian. They probably got back together." Hunter explained.

Giselle's eyes widened.

So that's how it was.

No wonder Darian would marry a woman who had been married and had kids.

Damn it, because when she saw Cecily last time, Cecily was blind and looked miserable, she automatically thought Cecily had married an ordinary person and had an unhappy marriage.

Who would have thought her ex-husband was Darian?

It was also her fault for not taking Cecily seriously, so she never thought much about it or tried to understand Cecily.

This led to her embarrassment today.

The more she thought about that scene, the angrier Giselle felt. She had never been so embarrassed before. Cecily must be laughing at her behind her back!

"Dad, can you be clearer when you speak in the future? You never told me Cecily's ex-husband was Darian," she shouted.

Hunter found Giselle's reaction inexplicable. Why would he bring up Cecily's husband out of nowhere?

Hunter was confused. "What did you go out for? Why are you asking such strange questions? When you asked me, Cecily was indeed divorced. I didn't expect her to remarry Darian later, so I didn't mention it."

Giselle was annoyed, "I ran into them just now."

"Darian and Cecily?" Cecily was in Detroit, and Darian came with her. Hunter didn't find it strange.

But seeing Giselle so angry, Hunter suspiciously asked, "What happened?"

Giselle bit her lip, thinking of that embarrassing scene, unwilling to say more, lowered her head, and started eating, "Nothing."

Hunter clearly saw Giselle's eyes redden, his heart sank, and he asked a few more questions. Giselle, feeling annoyed, ate a few bites and then threw down her fork and left.

Hunter called out to her from a distance. Seeing Giselle's obviously wrong reaction, Hunter frowned, guessing that maybe they had a conflict with Cecily here, and Cecily, feeling upset, took it out on Giselle when Giselle ran into her.

The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed. Hunter's face turned grim.

Cecily accompanied Darian to have another meal. Including them, there were seven people in the large private room. Darian introduced each one to Cecily.

The main purpose this time was for these people to get familiar with the area, making it easier to find people and ask for their help.

Cecily knew that Darian's promise to help her find Vivienne last night wasn't just talk, he was serious about it.

After the meal, Cecily followed Darian out of the hotel. Darian had drunk some wine and looked a bit tipsy. When they reached a secluded spot, he pressed Cecily into a corner, his voice low and coaxing, "Cecily, I can explain what happened just now."

Cecily's heart pounded nervously. She didn't expect Darian to talk about this, she thought he was going to kiss her.
