Chapter 506 Cecily Woke Up
Vivienne nodded.
She didn't want Bryan to know that Cecily was his biological daughter before because she hated him.
Now, Vivienne desired for Bryan to truly comprehend the magnitude of his mistakes, to witness the consequences of his actions, and ultimately feel genuine remorse for them.
"Get the DNA report to me as soon as possible."
Gary nodded, "Okay, I got it. You don't look well, let me take you back first."
"Alright."
At this moment, it was in Aurelie's ward.
When she woke up, the man sitting beside her was Nathaniel. Caught off guard, she instinctively recoiled slightly, struggling to fully comprehend the situation at hand.
Nathaniel raised an eyebrow. "Do I look like I eat people?"
Aurelie was a bit flattered. Shouldn't he be with Lillian? Why did he come to see her?
"Why are you here?" she asked.
Nathaniel's gaze shifted down to Aurelie's abdomen. "Let me tell you a joke. When I came in, the doctor congratulated me on becoming a father. Funny, isn't it?"
Aurelie's mind went blank for a moment.
Right, the baby!
She placed her hand on her lower abdomen, feeling uneasy.
But she quickly realized that if the doctor said that, it meant her baby was still there.
Aurelie nervously asked, "If I'm pregnant, do you want this baby?"
Nathaniel's narrow eyes stared at her intently. "Are you serious?"
"Three months. Do you think I'm joking?"
Nathaniel clicked his tongue lightly. "Are you sure it's my child?"
"What do you mean? Do you think I'm faking a pregnancy to trap you? Nathaniel, I like you, but I'm not that shameless." Aurelie's emotions were so intense that her voice was trembling.
She hadn't expected to be pregnant, but she was, and it was his child. What was he doubting?
"What are you planning to do?" Nathaniel's voice softened a bit as he considered she was carrying his child.
Aurelie was resolute, "I'll have it."
Nathaniel nodded, "I respect your decision, but once the child is born, then what? My child won't take another man's surname, and the Kensington family would never allow their descendants to be left outside."
The Kensington family knew they had been together. Once the child was discovered, they would take custody, and in the end, she would have given birth to a child for the Kensington family without even getting to see the child.
"So, still want to have it?" Nathaniel pressed.
Aurelie gritted her teeth. "Yes, I'll have it. If I have to, I'll leave after giving birth, escape to the ends of the earth, but I'll keep my child."
Seeing Aurelie's determined look, Nathaniel thought she was naive.
"Escape? You want to be like Cecily? But you don't have a Blaise to protect you. If you can escape Silver Frost Capital, I'll admit defeat."
Aurelie understood what he meant.
"You want me to abort the child, don't you?"
"It's best for both you and the child."
"Best for both me and the child?" Aurelie propped herself up. "Do you have the nerve to say that again?"
Nathaniel saw her almost ready to jump up and slap him and raised an eyebrow. "Still insisting on having it?"
Aurelie didn't speak, but her gaze was firm.
Nathaniel stood up. "If you want to have it, then have it."
Was he agreeing?
Aurelie wanted to ask more, but Nathaniel just told her to rest well and then walked out.
Aurelie didn't react immediately. When she chased downstairs to ask clearly, she saw Lillian running up to take Nathaniel's arm. "Nathaniel, how is Miss Miller?"
"She's fine."
"And her child? Do you want it?" Lillian asked tentatively.
Nathaniel frowned slightly, remaining silent.
Lillian pursed her lips. "Nathaniel, I think you should persuade Miss Miller to abort the child. It's best for both her and the child. If you want a child, I can give you one."
Nathaniel's eyes flickered, looking down at Lillian beside him. He said gently, "Let her have it."
Lillian's smile froze on her face.
Nathaniel continued, "If you like children, once the child is born, you can raise it. Having a child is too hard; I can't bear to see you go through that."
Aurelie quickly sought refuge behind the wall, her fists clenched tightly as she listened to Nathaniel's indifferent words.
So he agreed to let her have the child because he wanted to give her child to Lillian?
Aurelie slowly squatted down, taking deep breaths to stay calm.
"Aurelie?" Gary, after taking Vivienne back, returned to the hospital and saw Aurelie squatting in a corner, crying. "What's wrong?"
Aurelie quickly stood up, wiped her tears, and shook her head. "Nothing. Didn't you take Aunt Vivienne back? Why are you back?"
"You’re still in the hospital, I was worried, so I came back to keep an eye on you."
Aurelie wiped her tears and quickly said, "What's Cecily's condition now? Take me to see her."
"Are you sure you're okay?"
Aurelie shook her head. "I'm fine."
Seeing Cecily in the ICU, Aurelie burst into tears again. "How did she get so badly hurt? When will she wake up? What about her baby?"
Gary lowered his head, clenched his fists, and shook his head heavily.
Aurelie couldn't contain her grief. Everything was fine just yesterday, yet now everything had changed.
Two days passed in a blur, and Cecily showed no signs of waking up.
Darian went to work during the day as usual, showing no signs of anything being wrong.
At night, he went to the hospital. Josep still didn't know that Darian hadn't lost his memory. The people he sent to investigate reported seeing Darian visiting Freya, but in truth, Darian had spent several consecutive nights with Cecily.
The guards at Freya's ward were all Darian's men, so Josep had no idea what was really happening at the hospital and was already at his wit's end.
Percy was even more anxious than Josep. Evander had been missing for three days, and despite sending many people, he couldn't even track Blaise's whereabouts.
From Freya's ward came the sound of painful pleas for mercy.
Her wounds had to be "treated" every day, with the scabs being peeled off and new medicine applied once a day.
She liked to scream in pain and act pitifully, so she was given plenty of opportunities to do so.
After finishing a cigarette, Darian walked into the ward. Freya was being held down on the floor by two bodyguards, her face covered in tears and snot. When she saw Darian enter, her whole body tensed up, and the air seemed to freeze around her.
"Darian, I know I was wrong. Please let me go. I promise I'll disappear from your sight."
Freya was in unbearable pain, feeling like she could die from it at any moment.
Darian grabbed her chin and lifted it forcefully, making her look into his icy, bone-chilling eyes.
"I have no patience right now. From now on, you answer whatever I ask."
Freya nodded vigorously. "I'll tell you everything."
"This kidnapping was a play you helped Josep put on, wasn't it?"
Freya's mind raced. She couldn't admit that she hadn't really been kidnapped.
"No, I was really kidnapped, truly."
Freya felt like her jaw was about to be crushed by Darian.
"I'm not here to listen to your nonsense."
Darian already had the answer in his heart. If she continued to lie, she would be dead.
"Yes, it was Josep. He found me and asked me to help him stage a kidnapping to test you by capturing Cecily."
"Who else was involved in planning this kidnapping besides him?" Darian asked.
"No one else, I only saw Josep. I really don't know anyone else."
Darian narrowed his eyes. "Do you know the consequences of lying to me?"
"I know. I'm telling the truth. I've already given up Josep. If I knew anyone else, I wouldn't hide it."
Darian stood up, took the handkerchief Larkin handed him, and wiped his fingers with disgust. "Did you record it?"
"Yes." Larkin replied.
"Send it to Bryan." Darian gave the cold order, then threw the handkerchief aside and walked out.
Outside the ward, Larkin followed Darian and said, "Boss, Blaise just sent someone to ask you to go over."
"Got it."
Half an hour later, Darian arrived at a secluded villa. Blaise, dressed in black, sat on the living room sofa, his face cold.
Blaise gestured towards the gun on the table. "Familiar?"
"What do you mean?" Darian asked.
"The bullet that hit Cecily was fired from this gun, and this gun was used by one of your men." Blaise lit a cigarette, his cold gaze fixed on Darian.
Darian frowned, picked up the gun, and looked at it. It was indeed used by one of his men.
"The people I brought that day were all my trusted aides. It's impossible that it was them. There was a fight, and it's not impossible that the gun was dropped and used by someone else."
Blaise didn't deny Darian's guess. "So, according to you, the trail is cold. All the captured people insist they are Josep's men. As for Evander and the people he brought, they are suspects, but there's no evidence."
"Evander wouldn't harm Cecily." Darian was certain of that.
"His men might." In Blaise's view, everyone was a suspect until the culprit was found.
"Release Evander. Keeping him is useless."
"Aren't you afraid he'll go back and reveal that you haven't lost your memory?" It was because Blaise had detained everyone that nothing had been leaked.
"Then teach him what to say and what not to say. I'm counting on you." Darian glanced at his watch and stood up. "I need to get back to Cecily."
Blaise watched Darian's stance and sneered.
"Thanks." With that, Darian was about to leave.
"Boss." Larkin came over quickly after taking a call, a hint of joy on his face. "Boss, the hospital just called. Miss Watson has woken up."
