Chapter 453 Sowing Discord
"Freya, you're alive? Are you okay?"
Aurelia looked at Freya, afraid to speak too loudly.
Freya looked drained and was barely moving. She asked weakly, "What do you want?"
Aurelia and Olivia exchanged glances. Aurelia put down the flowers and said, "Freya, we heard about what happened last night and wanted to check on you."
Freya closed her eyes and didn't respond. The morning light on her face seemed cold.
Aurelia pouted at the silence.
Olivia pulled Aurelia back and stepped forward. "Freya, don't be sad. Your mom wouldn't want this. If you stay down, who will avenge her?"
"Exactly, Freya. Aunt Jennifer was murdered. She needs you to avenge her."
Freya's eyes snapped open. "You think my mom was murdered too?"
Aurelia and Olivia stepped back, startled.
Olivia cleared her throat and held Freya's hand. "Yes, Freya. Your mom was open-minded. She wouldn't commit suicide. The police found out that someone followed her to the rooftop."
Freya's eyes widened. She didn't know that.
Freya propped herself up, gripping Olivia's hand. "Are you serious?"
Olivia nodded sincerely. "Yes. Check the footage if you don't believe me. It shows someone following your mom, and the police haven't ruled out homicide."
"Why didn't anyone tell me? What about the footage Cecily showed me?"
Aurelia stepped forward. "They were helping Cecily. The footage she showed you was tampered with."
Freya clenched the bedsheet. If Olivia and Aurelia knew about this, Bryan must have known too. Everyone was helping Cecily.
They had all lied to her, including Bryan, the man she called father.
She hated it. Why was everyone helping Cecily, the murderer?
Freya swept everything off the table beside her.
Olivia and Aurelia stepped back, clutching their chests.
"Why did everyone lie to me? Why did they help Cecily?"
Aurelia quickly said, "Because Cecily is Bryan's daughter!"
Freya froze, her eyes filled with disbelief.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" Freya squinted.
Cecily was Bryan's daughter? Ridiculous!
Jennifer had told her Vivienne didn't want kids with Bryan. How could Cecily be his daughter?
"I'm not lying. I heard Vivienne tell Cecily that."
Aurelia hadn't actually heard it. But since they were lying to Freya anyway, she made it up to sound believable.
Freya stared at Aurelia. "When did you hear this?"
"Yesterday. We passed by Vivienne and Cecily talking about it. They were probably planning to tell Uncle Bryan."
Aurelia spoke convincingly, but Freya still didn't believe it.
