Chapter 172 Sandra Felt Sorry for Her Grandson
The two bodyguards of Fitzgerald's Family immediately moved forward to protect Cecily.
Suddenly, a furious reprimand came from behind, "Let's see who dares."
Everyone turned their heads toward the voice and saw Sandra sitting in a wheelchair, being pushed by a servant.
Due to her guilt, Sandra hadn't come to see Rowan for the past two days. She was planning to come today, but she didn't expect to witness such a scene.
"What's all this commotion? What place is this? A hospital! Who allowed you to cause a ruckus here?" Sandra angrily questioned, looking at the chaotic scene.
'Too out of line.'
'Don't they even know where this is?'
'The child's life is hanging by a thread, and yet they have the audacity to cause trouble outside their hospital room.'
Cecily let go of Tabitha, who was about to faint in pain. Tabitha took a few steps back, but Tristan supported her.
Tristan said angrily, "Sandra, you saw who made the first move. She hurt my daughter, and now she has hurt my wife. How can I tolerate her?"
"Tristan, do you see whose hospital room entrance this is?" Sandra pointed to the room and interrogated him, "You bring people here to cause trouble, and you don't allow them to fight back?"
"She hurt Ophelia first."
"No matter what, it's not a reason for you to cause trouble here. If something happens to the child inside because of your commotion, will you take responsibility?"
Seeing Tristan's enraged veins popping, Sandra continued, "Deal with your grudges after the child's condition stabilizes."
After speaking, Sandra gestured for the servant to push her to the entrance of the hospital room.
Her stance was resolute.
If they wanted to go in, they would have to step over her body.
Tristan and Tabitha saw this scene, their hearts filled with anger, enough to flip the roof of this place.
At that moment, a nurse hurriedly came out from inside and said, "Doctor, Miss Cecily, the child has woken up."
Cecily was taken aback, and Tristan and Tabitha's faces immediately changed.
'What? The child has woken up?'
Cecily rushed in with the doctor.
"Rowan."
The doctor quickly approached the little one to perform a check-up.
The child on the hospital bed had half-closed eyes, and his gaze moved a bit in the eye sockets before landing on Cecily.
Cecily stood behind and clearly saw the movement in the child's eyes.
Cecily's eyes filled with immense joy. She covered her mouth, and tears streamed down her face. "Rowan, Rowan, it's mommy."
Cecily was so excited that her whole body was trembling. She quickly observed the readings on the instruments.
After the doctor's examination, he said to Cecily, "Miss Cecily, it's great that the child has woken up. Waking up means that the critical period has passed."
The doctor's voice was also filled with excitement. They had been eagerly waiting for the child to wake up for so many days.
Seeing such a young child endure such pain was heart-wrenching.
A faint smile finally appeared on Cecily's haggard face, and her empty eyes finally had a glimmer of light. She didn't know how to describe her feelings at this moment.
It all felt like a dream. Cecily cautiously held the little one's hand, afraid that it was all just a dream and it would shatter if she wasn't careful.
"Rowan, Rowan," Cecily called the little one's name cautiously twice.
Rowan was still very weak at the moment, wearing an oxygen mask and unable to respond to Cecily. However, the handheld in Cecily's palm moved ever so slightly.
Cecily cried tears of joy.
"Miss Cecily, the child will be observed here for a few more days. Once the situation stabilizes, he can be transferred to a regular ward, and we will conduct a comprehensive examination for the child afterward."
Cecily's eyes were red. She sniffed and stood up, looking at the doctor. "Alright, thank you, doctor."
The doctor gave some instructions and was about to leave when Cecily called out to him, "Doctor, please wait."
"Miss Cecily, is there anything else?"
Cecily glanced at the situation outside and lowered her voice, "I would like to ask you for a favor..."
After hearing Cecily's request, the doctor looked outside, nodded, and said, "Alright, I understand."
"Thank you."
"This is also to ensure the patient's safety. It's only natural."
Tristan and Tabitha, who were outside, were still reluctant to leave. Hearing the news of the child waking up, their faces fell.
When the doctor came out, Sandra approached and asked, and the two of them also listened attentively.
"Doctor, how is the child? Once he wakes up, is he out of danger?" The doctor shook his head, looking regretful. "No, that's not the case. The child just woke up briefly and fell back into a coma. His condition is still critical, and he is still in imminent danger."
Sandra frowned with worry and continued to ask, "Wasn't it said that he would be fine once he woke up? Why is he still in danger?"
"Because the child's injuries are quite severe, it's already a miracle that he has held on until now. It's difficult to say what happens next." The doctor sighed heavily.
"I see..." Sandra's face darkened, feeling uneasy.
Tristan and Tabitha, upon hearing the doctor's words, secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
They had just thought that the child was really going to wake up.
They didn't expect that he was still in danger.
Now, they felt relieved.
The two returned to Ophelia's room, and Ophelia immediately sat up and looked at them. "Mom, Dad, what's the situation? Mom! Your hand!"
Tabitha's fingers were swollen at that moment, causing her face to pale in pain.
Seeing their angry expressions, Ophelia felt that something was wrong. "What happened? What's wrong with mom's hand?"
Tabitha gritted her teeth. "It's all because of that Cecily. She's a difficult woman to deal with. Darian's people have been protecting her, and then Sandra came over. We never had a chance to make a move."
Ophelia's hopeful expression fell.
Tabitha said fiercely, "Her child woke up."
"What?" Ophelia's voice rose several degrees in shock.
Tristan snorted. "But luckily, he fell back into a coma quickly. The doctor said he is still in danger and could die at any time."
Ophelia furrowed her brow, not quite believing it.
"The doctor really said that?"
Tristan nodded. "Yes, the doctor said it himself."
Ophelia clutched her chest and took deep breaths.
This child should have died a long time ago, but he stayed alive for a couple more days. Now he suddenly woke up, but the doctor said he was still in danger. Something felt off to her.
"No, I'm worried. This child absolutely cannot have any chance of survival. We can't wait any longer."
Tristan disagreed. "No, it's not possible. Darian is keeping a close eye on us. If we make a move, we'll be easily exposed. Besides, according to the doctor, his chances of survival are slim."
Tabitha also spoke up, "Yes, I asked around before, and that child's life depends on a ventilator. This awakening might just be a temporary improvement, and there's no need for us to go the extra mile."
Ophelia squinted her eyes, still feeling uneasy.
