Chapter 711 Blaise Saved Cecily

Cecily was a bit puzzled by Rufus in front of her. He should be on Hunter's side, and normally, he should have helped Giselle mock her first.

Rufus drank the coffee Cecily poured for him, stood up, and said, "Alright, I have things to do. I won't stay long after seeing you."

With that, Rufus nodded slightly and walked out.

Cecily raised an eyebrow slightly, not quite understanding this person. Was he just here to say hello?

Cecily called her assistant back in. "How long has Rufus been here?"

"Not long, he just arrived shortly before you came in."

"Okay, got it. You can go out now."

Cecily felt she had been too sensitive lately, thinking everyone related to Hunter and his group were bad people.

But Cecily didn't let her guard down.

After all, she was an enemy of Hunter and Keaen.

Cecily stayed at the office until six before leaving. The driver drove the car upstairs, and Rowan and Griffin texted her saying they wanted to go out tonight.

Cecily had promised Rowan and Griffin yesterday that she would take them out, but the events at the banquet delayed her, so she couldn't make it.

Cecily replied with an "okay" and asked the driver to go to the Bennett Mansion to pick them up. Kids love to be active and can't stay at home all the time.

After picking up Rowan, Griffin, and Aurelie, the four of them went to a scenic place for dinner.

"Darian has been quite busy lately, constantly traveling between Silver Frost Capital and Detroit," Aurelie chatted with Cecily casually.

Cecily nodded. "Probably busy with company matters."

"Traveling back and forth is quite tiring. When do you plan to go back, after your birthday or after finding Vivienne?"

Cecily had thought about Aurelie's question for a long time. She decided that after her birthday, whether she found Vivienne or not, she would return to Silver Frost Capital.

Because Vivienne didn't show up here, so it didn't matter where Cecily stayed.

"I plan to go back after my birthday. As long as I stay here, they will keep an eye on me."

"They? Hunter and his group?"

"Yes."

Aurelie took a sip of juice. "That's true. After what happened last night and this morning, they probably hate you. Now that you're pregnant, if they use any tricks to retaliate, the consequences would be unimaginable. Although Darian and Desmond have people protecting you, there could still be accidents."

Cecily thought the same. Now that she was pregnant, she had to be more careful than before.

"Have you told Darian?"

"I'll discuss it with him when he comes back."

After dinner, it was completely dark, but it was still early. The four of them planned to go shopping since the mall was close to where they had dinner, so they decided to walk there to take a stroll and digest their food.

It was early summer, and the evening breeze carried a bit of warmth. The weather was nice today, and there were many people walking on the sidewalk.

Rowan and Griffin ran ahead, while Cecily walked slowly with Aurelie behind them. Bodyguards followed at a distance, as two pregnant women couldn't afford any mishaps outside.

Aurelie held Cecily's hand with one hand and touched her own belly with the other. She looked up at the stars in the sky and sighed softly, "Cecily, it's been almost two months. If Nathaniel were still alive, why hasn't he come back to find me?"

Cecily paused slightly, hearing her somewhat sad words.

Aurelie continued, "Do you think he might be watching me and the baby now, like one of those bright stars in the sky?"

Cecily looked up at the stars and then turned to look at Aurelie.

It had been a long time since they talked about Nathaniel. If Aurelie didn't bring it up, Cecily wouldn't either. But she knew Aurelie waited for Nathaniel to come back every day.

But what she said today sounded like she had accepted that Nathaniel was dead.

Cecily's eyes darkened.

No one had the heart to tell Aurelie the truth, but Cecily had learned a lot over the past two months. The rescue team had made it clear: Nathaniel had no chance of survival.

So now they hadn't given up looking for him, but it was just an obsession, believing that as long as they didn't see the body, he was still alive.

"Don't say that. Maybe he's thinking about you somewhere right now, just unable to come back for some reason."

Aurelie smiled bitterly. "Don't lie to me. I'm not stupid. I know he was seriously injured. Everyone else in the car who wasn't injured died, let alone him who was seriously injured."Cecily watched her with concern.

Aurelie's eyes glistened with tears, "I'm fine. Even if he's really dead, I'll raise our child well."

"Yes, no matter what, you need to take care of yourself and live for both of you."

Aurelie nodded vigorously. "I will."

"Don't cry. You need to be happy. The baby can feel the mother's emotions."

Aurelie raised her hand to wipe away the tears from her eyes and forced a smile. "I'm fine."

"Let's hurry up. Rowan and Griffin are running too fast and have left us far behind."

The two of them quickened their pace, walked around the mall, and each of the four ended up with an ice cream in hand.

Griffin licked his cold ice cream and blinked. "Mommy, didn't Daddy say you can't eat cold things? You're eating ice cream behind his back."

Cecily was craving it today and pouted. "He's not here right now."

At home, Darian controlled everything she ate, afraid she might feel unwell. It was rare for Darian not to be around.

"Daddy will be mad if he finds out."

"I'm eating it secretly, and I'm a doctor. I say I can eat it, not him."

"So Mommy can be naughty too."

Although Cecily said that, she didn't dare eat much. A few bites to satisfy her craving were enough.

After finishing their shopping, they planned to go back. Cecily called the driver to bring the car over. Rowan and Griffin ran off to throw away the trash, and Cecily called out from a distance, "Don't run too far."

Because the weather was nice tonight and it was the weekend, this bustling commercial street was crowded with people out shopping. Cecily was afraid Rowan and Griffin might get lost, so she sent two bodyguards to follow them.

"I'll go," Aurelie said, about to follow.

"You shouldn't go. You can't keep up with them."

Aurelie looked into the distance and saw an incredibly familiar figure in the crowd. Her eyes widened, and she murmured, "Nathaniel!"

Cecily had just reported her location to the driver when she saw Aurelie, seemingly attracted by something, quickly walking forward.

"Aurelie! Where are you going?"

The crowd surged ahead, and Cecily saw Aurelie walking fast, completely ignoring her six-month pregnant belly. Cecily was terrified and couldn't catch up.

She quickly instructed the remaining two bodyguards, "Quick, follow her. Don't let her wander off."

The bodyguard glanced at Cecily. "Mrs. Fitzgerald, you stay here and don't move."

"Okay, I know. You go bring her back."

The bodyguards quickly chased after her, but because of the crowd, they soon lost sight of Aurelie and could only quicken their pace to catch up.

Cecily stood in a less crowded, conspicuous spot waiting for them and took out her phone to call Aurelie.

Before Aurelie could answer, a pair of eyes that had been watching Cecily for a long time suddenly saw an opportunity. A flash of malice crossed them, and the person started the car, stepped on the gas, and charged directly toward Cecily.

Cecily seemed to sense the danger. As she turned her head, the car was already very close.

Cecily's heart skipped a beat, and she took a step back, losing her balance.

With a loud sound, the people who had been leisurely strolling around turned their attention to the scene.

They saw two people lying on the ground, and the driver of the car sped away without stopping to check.

"Oh my God, it looks like there was an accident over there."

"What's with that car? Driving so fast!"

"Go check if those two people are okay. It's terrifying. Was the driver trying to kill someone, driving so fast in such a crowded place?"

"Call the police."

More and more people gathered. Cecily, still in shock, opened her eyes and looked at the man who had saved her and rolled with her, now lying beneath her.

"Blaise?" Cecily puzzled.

Blaise had rushed over so quickly that Cecily hadn't even had time to see who had saved her.

Seeing Blaise now, she became worried. "Blaise, are you okay?"

Blaise's face was grim. He protected Cecily with one hand and propped himself up with the other, his hoarse voice asking, "Are you okay?"

Cecily shook her head vigorously. "I'm fine."

Luckily, Blaise had appeared in time. Otherwise, even if she had dodged the car, she would have fallen due to losing her balance.

Because Blaise had held her, she had fallen on him and was unharmed.

Cecily, still shaken, was pale.

Blaise helped Cecily stand up, his dark eyes scanning her carefully. Only after confirming she was okay did he relax.

"Are you two alright? That was so dangerous. That car was like a weapon."

"Exactly. I already called the police. They should be here soon. The driver fled the scene. We need to catch him. It's terrifying to drive so fast in such a crowded place. If he had hit someone, the consequences would have been unimaginable."

Cecily calmed down, her eyes turning dark. That car wasn't just speeding recklessly. She could feel that the car was aiming for her.

The bodyguards brought the two children back. Seeing everyone gathered around Cecily, they realized something might have happened and immediately asked, "Mrs. Fitzgerald, what happened?"

"Mommy, what's wrong?" the kids asked worriedly.

"Mommy is fine. There was just a little accident. Luckily, Blaise saved Mommy," Cecily comforted.

Blaise's eyes were dark, seemingly understanding something. He said to Cecily, "Where's your driver?"

"On his way."

"Let's go back. It's not safe here," Blaise said.

"Okay." Cecily nodded but then realized Aurelie hadn't returned yet.
