Chapter 492 Bryan's Final Decision

His biological daughter?

A thunderclap exploded on the horizon, making his eardrums ache.

Bryan felt as if all sounds had drifted away from him, even the rain seemed to have paused.

He stood there, gripping his phone, his heart contracting violently, skipping a beat. Vivienne's words were both an illusion and incredibly clear.

Cecily was his biological daughter!

Cecily, his biological daughter?

Was he hearing things?

What was Vivienne talking about?

Was he hallucinating?

Vivienne was saying Cecily was his biological daughter?

How could Cecily be his biological daughter?

He must have misheard.

"Bryan, did you hear me?

Cecily is your biological daughter, the daughter you've always longed for."

Vivienne kept repeating, "She's pregnant, with your grandchild. How can you bear to exchange them for Freya? Freya has harmed Cecily so many times, why should Cecily and her child's lives be exchanged for Freya's?"

"I'm begging you, please bring them back. Bryan, don't let yourself regret this for the rest of your life."

Vivienne's voice was hoarse and desperate. She didn't know if Bryan was listening. Her lips were pale, her voice was already ragged, but there was only silence on the other end of the line.

Bryan remembered Vivienne saying she would never have children with him, telling him to give up on that idea for the rest of his life.

Bryan remembered the day Vivienne came out of the operating room after her abortion, her face pale, indifferent, and heartless.

Bryan had always wanted a child with Vivienne. It wouldn't have mattered whether it was a boy or a girl. If it were a boy, he would give everything to raise him; if it were a girl, he would shower her with all his love, make her a little princess, and not allow anyone to bully her.

Everyone said he needed an heir, and he understood that. But from that day on, he never forced Vivienne to have children again.

He was afraid of seeing Vivienne come out of the operating room again, telling him she could never have his child.

Many memories surged back like a tide.

Vivienne was a ruthless woman; she hated him and wanted to fight him to the end.

Bryan pressed his lips tightly together, a bitter smile on his face.

How could Cecily be his biological daughter?

Those were just lies Vivienne made up to stop him from exchanging Cecily for Freya.

A gunshot pulled all his thoughts back to reality.

Bryan squinted at the approaching cars. His hand that was holding the phone dropped. The thinning air made it hard to breathe.

As the cars got closer, Bryan's heartbeat pounded louder in his ears.

"Bryan, what's happening? Bryan?" Vivienne's voice was gradually drowned out.

"Have you located him?" She urgently asked the two people frantically working on the machine beside her.

One of them stopped and quickly said to Vivienne, "We've located him."

"Send it to everyone, send it to Darian, immediately." Vivienne ordered loudly, her heart clenching painfully, worse than before.

A bad premonition rose in her heart.

That premonition was enough to drive her to despair.

Bryan watched as Freya was dragged out of the car, his heart clenching painfully.

Her hands and feet were bound, and when the person holding her let go, she collapsed weakly to the ground. Her black dress was tattered, revealing her bloody skin.

She struggled to lift her head, her face covered in hair, but her red, fear-filled eyes were still visible.

She moved with difficulty, her broken voice calling out faintly, "Dad, save me."

Freya's pitiful state was hard to watch, and Bryan's heart ached deeply.

All the people who had come were masked, their real faces hidden, forming a dark mass like demons from hell.

The leader, Steven, had a deep scar over his left eye, the regrown skin fused together, forming a grotesque patch. His sharp eyes and fierce expression made him look like a desperado.

"Bryan, don't you want your daughter to live? If you keep stalling, I might as well send her to her death myself." Steven stood behind Freya, pointing a gun at her head.

Freya trembled in fear, her eyes shaking as she looked at Bryan. "Dad, I don't want to die, please save me, save me."

"Don't touch her." Bryan's voice was heavy, his eyes dark as he stared at Steven.

Steven sneered, not displeased with Bryan's attitude, but instead, he put away his gun mercifully. "Then hand over the woman to us, one for one, it's fair."

Bryan's face was grave. He didn't believe Vivienne's words, but they kept replaying in his mind.

His eyes showed more struggle.

Whether Cecily was his biological daughter or not, he shouldn't exchange Cecily for Freya. He had no right to decide whether someone else lived or died.

But he cared about Freya's life. Over the years, he had watched Freya grow up and had feelings for her. He had also promised Jennifer he would protect Freya.

But now Freya was in this state.

He couldn't bear it, nor could he abandon Freya.

So he could only save Freya first and then find a way to save Cecily. It was the only option.

Bryan didn't speak, finally making a decision, pointing to his car.

"She's in the car."

Steven gave a signal to his men to bring the woman from the car.

Bryan took a deep breath. At that moment, it felt like he was inhaling not air, but icy spikes. His blood froze, suffocating him completely.

His heart ached, filled with immense pain.

The car door was opened.

The man looked inside, then angrily raised his head and shouted, "Steven, there's no one inside!"
