Chapter 345 The Truth of Patrick's Death

"Yes, I know very well." Eliza gritted her teeth as she faced Vivienne. "I know exactly what happened."

She then turned to Darian, stepping forward and grabbing his sleeve forcefully. "Darian, didn't you not believe me before? Didn't you always want to know the truth? I'll tell you now. I'll tell you everything that happened that day."

Eliza spoke urgently, "It was her, it was Vivienne who caused your father's death. That day, father was supposed to take me to school. This woman sent him a message, and then he called her. He changed his route to go to the airport. On the way there, the car lost control, collided with another car, flipped over, caught fire, and then exploded. Father was burned alive in the car."

Cecily frowned as she listened to Eliza's words.

The car lost control?

How could a perfectly good car lose control?

"If Vivienne hadn't sent him that message or made that call, he would've safely taken me to school, gone to his company, and returned home safely as usual. Our family would still be happily together. He wouldn't have been trapped in the car and blown up to pieces.

If it weren't for Vivienne, our grandfather wouldn't have lost his son, our mother wouldn't have lost her husband, and you wouldn't have lost our father. It's all Vivienne's fault. She caused our father's death and brought pain to the entire Fitzgerald family. It was her."

Eliza shouted loudly, trying to make everyone hear.

Cecily felt Darian's grip on her hand tighten.

Eliza continued, "Vivienne, everything I've said, do you admit it?"

Vivienne stood there, lowered her eyes, and then looked up with determination. "I admit it."

Eliza laughed out loud, "Darian, did you see that? She admitted it. It's all her fault. Everything is her fault."

Everyone was shocked by this revelation.

Patrick's car accident had been a tragic event, with explosions reported by numerous media outlets. Almost no one was unaware of it.

Not only did Patrick die in the accident, but the driver of the other car also died. It was a major accident.

Everyone only knew that Patrick died in a car accident. No one knew about these events leading up to it.

"If what Eliza said is true, she does remember Mr. Fitzgerald fondly and wants to avenge her foster father. Her intentions are good."

"I agree. She did all this to avenge Mr. Fitzgerald. Although her methods were extreme, it's understandable. She was so young at the time, and seeing her beloved foster father die in front of her eyes. It is also normal for this incident to be caused by hatred."

"But Ms. Vivienne Bennett couldn't have known the car crash would happen. And Mr. Fitzgerald chose to go. You can't blame Ms. Vivienne Bennett entirely."

"Isn't anyone curious about what kind of relationship Ms. Vivienne Bennett had with the late Mr. Fitzgerald? Why would he go to her just because of a message from her?"

"Who knows? Could it be that they had an affair?"

The crowd buzzed with speculation, and some even made bold guesses.

Bryan had just returned after picking up Jennifer and Freya, only to hear everyone discussing the relationship between Vivienne and Patrick.

Jennifer gave Freya a look, and Freya stepped forward to take Bryan's arm. "Dad, what's going on with Aunt Vivienne? Why are they talking about her and Mr. Fitzgerald?"

Bryan's brow furrowed, and his face was stern.

"Dad? What's wrong? Why aren't you answering me?" Freya pouted.

"Why do you want to know so much?"

"I'm just curious."

"Alright, stop asking so much." Jennifer stepped in to interrupt Freya. "Bryan, thanks for picking us up. We'll be fine on our own. You should go check on Vivienne. She doesn't seem to be doing well."

Jennifer noticed Bryan's cold expression and secretly smiled.

On stage, Cecily held Vivienne's hand tightly and noticed that Vivienne was trembling slightly. She asked, "Mom?"

Vivienne pressed her lips together and patted Cecily's hand, signaling that she was okay.

The murmurs around Vivienne grew louder.

Vivienne raised her voice slightly and said, "I admit that the incident was caused by me, and I apologize to the Fitzgerald family. But you've said so much, why don't you talk about what happened inside the car? Why don't you mention who Patrick died trying to save?"

Eliza's face tightened as she said, "What are you trying to say?"

"I reviewed dashcam footage from nearby vehicles. Patrick had a chance to escape when the car caught fire, but you were too scared to jump out. He delayed to save you, throwing you out of the car first, missing his chance, and was consumed by the explosion."

"You're lying!"

"You claim to want revenge for him, but now you can't even admit that he died saving you?" Vivienne asked calmly.

Eliza yelled, "Shut up."

"Is what she's saying true?" Owen's strong voice rang out from the back.

Owen had just arrived, originally looking for Darian, but hearing this conversation made his heart ache.

Eliza saw Owen and her lips trembled.

Owen's body trembled slightly, but his steps were steady. He looked at Eliza, who immediately knelt before him. "Grandpa, please save me."

In this situation, as long as Owen was willing to help her, she still had a chance.

Owen's face showed no emotion. "Is what she said true?"

"Grandpa, I..."

"Answer me!"

Owen's authoritative voice made Eliza's body tremble. After a few moments of silent struggle, Eliza finally answered shakily, "Yes."

His face immediately darkened as he said, "Why didn't you say anything before?"
