Chapter 156 Even Want to Die

Cecily refused to let Darian pull her away, "I'm really fine."

"You're injured."

A slight twitch appeared on Cecily's forehead, "Just a minor injury."

"Nonsense."

Darian's dark eyes grew even darker, locking onto her pale face due to the pain.

Cecily took a deep breath, ignoring the pain in her body as much as possible, "Finding the child is important. I'm fine."

"Is the child that important, even more important than yourself?"

"Yes, the child is more important than myself. If you didn't consider them your own children, you wouldn't understand. Rowan has suffered so much since he was young, and now he's still in danger. For me, it's like signing my own death warrant."

Darian stared at her for a moment, his eyes filled with anger. He let go of her, "Alright, it's up to you!"

If she wanted to die, he couldn't be bothered with her.

Let her suffer the pain.

Cecily restrained Darian's hand, lowering her voice, speaking seriously, "Listen to me."

"The person who kidnapped the child was wearing Fitzgerald's Family clothing and sent the child to Fitzgerald's Family in order to frame you."

"That person knows how important the child is to me. They used the child to destroy our relationship, so now the child is in great danger. If something happens to the child at Fitzgerald's Family, no matter what, I will suspect you. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

Cecily spoke quickly, and Darian listened with deep concern in his eyes.

Cecily continued, "Only you know about the child. You need to investigate the people around you."

"And furthermore, the person who can hide the child in a place where none of us can find it must be very familiar with Fitzgerald's Family."

Darian frowned, "I understand."
...
"Stop right there, are you trying to revolt?" Sandra's voice came angrily from upstairs.

The two of them immediately went upstairs and saw Sandra with her arms open, blocking the doorway.

Larkin looked hesitant. "Ms. Thompson, The young master could be in danger right now. Let us go in and take a look."

Sandra was furious. "Young master? That is Cecily's child, what kind of young master is he? And this door is always locked, how could the child have gotten in? Are you all out of your minds? Get out!"

"This..." Larkin was in a difficult position.

Ophelia quickly spoke up to help. "Mr. Larkin, what are you doing? Don't you know where this place is? How can you search it so casually? Who gave you the orders?"

"I did." Darian walked over with a serious face, and Larkin immediately stood behind him.

"Darian, have you gone mad? You believe this woman's words?" Sandra looked at Darian sorrowfully. "Now you want to search this room? Are you trying to kill me?"

Darian knew what this room meant to Sandra. He lowered his gaze and said, "I'm sorry, Mom. It's a matter of life and death, otherwise we wouldn't search this room."

"Search."

"No one is allowed to move, Darian. Why do you believe this woman? Just because she said the child is in our house, does that mean he really is? Can't she lie?" Sandra massaged her head, getting increasingly agitated.

Ophelia quickly supported Sandra. "Aunt, are you okay?"

Sandra gasped for breath and said, "If you want to enter this room today, you'll have to step over my dead body."

Cecily's forehead tightened when she heard that.

Ophelia was extremely happy and turned to Cecily angrily. "Miss Cecily, how much more are you going to stir up trouble? Are you only happy if you drive Aunt insane? Do you know what this room means to her? It's not a place you can just enter. What if you accidentally damage something inside? Will you take responsibility?"

Ophelia angrily questioned Cecily, as if speaking up for Sandra.

However, in reality, she was afraid the person inside hadn't died completely and was just buying time.

Cecily took a deep breath and pleaded, "Ms. Thompson, I-I beg you. My child might be in there. Please let us take a look..."

As soon as Cecily finished speaking, a faint sound of something striking the floor came from inside the room.

"Mommy," Griffin quickly called Cecily.

Cecily's heart suddenly trembled. Ignoring Sandra's tug, she took a big step forward and leaned against the door, carefully listening. Her eyes lit up. "Darian, there really is a sound. There really is a sound inside."

Darian clenched his fists. "Open the door."

"No, you can't open it," Sandra scolded.

Tension filled the air.

Larkin and the servants stood frozen. No one dared to make a sound, unsure of what to do.

Darian's icy gaze swept across Sandra's face.

Sandra trembled with anger. "Darian, everything in there is your father's belongings. Are you going to forcefully enter for the sake of this woman and make me sad?"

"I'm sorry, Mom. No one will damage Dad's things. If the child is really in there, it's a matter of life and death. We can't not save them."

Ophelia's face turned slightly pale. She hurriedly said, "Miss Cecily, could it be a misunderstanding? None of us heard any sound."

Griffin quickly added, "There is a sound. There really is."

Cecily anxiously said, "Darian..."

Darian furrowed his brow. "Larkin."

Larkin only took orders from Darian. He immediately stiffened and stepped forward. "I'm sorry, Ms. Thompson."

"Stop, I'm telling you to stop, can't you hear me?"

Cecily was so anxious that her whole body was trembling.

She was certain that the child was inside this room. Otherwise, there wouldn't be faint knocking sounds, and they wouldn't be without the strength to even call for help.

Cecily now only knew that her child was in danger.

She couldn't wait any longer.

Sandra still firmly held the key in her hand, determined.

Larkin and the bodyguards couldn't act against her...

Cecily's heart hardened. "I'm sorry, Ms. Thompson."

Cecily stepped forward and grabbed hold of Sandra's wrist. Sandra suddenly felt a sharp pain in her hand, and her grip loosened, causing the key to slip from her palm.

Cecily anxiously picked up the key, not caring about anything else, and went to open the door.

Ophelia's heart tightened, and Sandra angrily yelled, "Cecily! Stop it!"

Cecily disregarded everything and opened the door. Sandra, in her haste, fell from her wheelchair and crashed onto the ground.

Darian didn't let anyone else in. He and Cecily rushed in together.

In the dim room, there was a faint glimmer of light.

Just as he entered, a wave of blood odor hit him in the face.

Cecily's heart tightened as she frantically searched the room when the lights turned on.

Suddenly, her pupils contracted sharply as she saw a pool of blood in the corner.

In that moment, Cecily felt a desire to die.

Ignoring everything else, she rushed forward and saw a barely breathing child behind the cabinet, lying in a pool of blood with a deathly pale face.

"Rowan!" Cecily screamed.
