Chapter 475 Darian Lost His Memory Again

"Darian's inside."

Cecily's eyes were cold. She pushed open the ward door and walked in without a word.

Josep moved to the observation window, squinting as he watched.

Cecily's eyes lost focus for a moment when she saw Darian on the bed. He looked fine but was lying there motionless, making her heart race.

She walked over, lifted his blanket, and checked his body. He had no injuries.

She sighed in relief and placed her hand on his.

Suddenly, Darian's eyes opened, cold and dark. He saw Cecily and yanked his hand away.

Cecily was startled.

Outside, Josep squinted harder, focusing on the scene.

Cecily felt a surge of joy when she saw that Darian was awake, but his eyes were icy.

She didn't notice and said, "Darian, you're finally..."

"Who are you?"

Cecily froze. "I..."

Darian frowned, looking at her with cold detachment.

"Darian, what's wrong?" she asked, reaching out.

"Don't touch me."

He avoided her hand, glanced at the blanket, and his gaze grew colder. "Who are you? Who let you near me? Get out."

Cecily was confused. "Darian, it's me, Cecily!"

Darian didn't seem to recognize her, his voice growing colder and more impatient. "Get out!"

"I..."

"Don't make me say it a third time." He had no patience left.

Cecily stood frozen, seeing the disgust and coldness in his eyes.

Josep, who was outside, was also stunned. Darian wasn't supposed to be like this. He didn't seem foolish at all, he just didn't recognize Cecily.

"Are you sure Darian ate that food?" Josep asked, now suspecting Darian was faking it.

"Yes, sir. Our people watched him eat every bite," Mark confirmed.

"Then why doesn't he look foolish?" Josep's face darkened as he continued watching them.

"I don't know. Maybe the dosage wasn't enough. We haven't tested this drug, so we don't know its strength."

Josep kept watching, now more suspicious.

Cecily snapped out of her daze, realizing something was wrong. Darian didn't recognize her, just like last time.

That cold, disgusted look made Cecily's heart sink.

When Darian saw her still there, he called out, "Someone, come in."

Outside, Josep nodded at Mark. "Go in."

"Alright." Mark walked in. "Mr. Fitzgerald."

Darian looked displeased when he saw it wasn't Larkin. "Who are you? Where's Larkin?"

"Mr. Fitzgerald, Mr. Thompson had something to attend to. If you need anything, just tell me," Mark replied.

"Get this woman out of here!" Darian ordered coldly.

Mark glanced at Cecily, then back at Darian. "Mr. Fitzgerald, are you sure? She is..."

"Is what? You just let someone appear by my side, is this how you guard the door?"

Mark couldn't read Darian's expression, so he grabbed Cecily's arm and tried to drag her out. "Miss Watson, you're not welcome here. Please leave."

Cecily stumbled and almost fell.

Outside, Josep watched Darian's face, trying to figure him out. But Darian remained calm, showing no emotion as Cecily was dragged out.

It was like he really didn't recognize her.

"Did you drug him again?" Cecily asked, thinking it was the only explanation.

Josep chuckled. "I didn't. Don't accuse me of anything. I heard he hit his head when he fainted. Maybe that's why he's like this."

Cecily didn't believe him.

The doctor soon came to examine Darian.

"Mr. Fitzgerald has lost his memory of many past events," the doctor said.

Josep squinted. "Is it true? What caused it?"

"The cause is uncertain, but he already had a head injury. It might have been aggravated when he fainted and hit his head."

"Can it be cured?" Josep asked.

"His head injury can heal naturally, but the memory loss depends on him. Maybe over time or with some stimulation, he might remember some things, but we can't be sure if he will remember everything."

After giving a few more instructions, the doctor left.

Cecily's heart sank further. As a doctor, she knew most of the doctor's words were just said to comfort. Memory might come back, but the time frame was uncertain. It could be a year, or it could be a lifetime.

Although the doctor had said that, Josep was too cautious to fully believe it.

Darian had lost his memory, forgotten many things, and forgotten Cecily. This meant Cecily was no longer the most important person to him.

It was now pointless to use Cecily to deal with Darian.
