Chapter 502 She Hates Bryan and Herself

Josep's face looked terrible.

Percy's heart skipped a beat as he grabbed Colin with both hands and asked, "Besides that, what else did he say?"

"No, nothing else."

"Then what did you guys say to him?"

Colin shook his head like a dice. "I don't know, I don't know anything."

Josep got up, pulled the already terrified Colin from Percy's hands, and loudly questioned, "What exactly happened at that time? Speak!"

"I don't know, I really don't know." Colin cried bitterly, shaking his head desperately. He had long been scared out of his wits by Blaise and dared not say anything more, just kept shaking his head.

But Josep didn't let him go, roaring in anger, "Don't know? You were there at the scene, and you tell me you don't know? Speak! What exactly happened then? Who did Darian choose to save in the end?"

Colin shook his head in pain, unable to say anything under Josep's furious questioning.

"Speak!"

Josep kept pressing Colin; he had to know who Darian chose to save at that time, had to know what exactly happened then.

He felt very uneasy now, with a fear that he might be killed the next second.

"It was Cecily, Cecily," Colin shouted.

Josep was shocked. "You said he chose to save Cecily?"

"It was Freya, Freya."

Josep closed his eyes tightly. "Who did he choose to save?"

"It was Freya, it was Freya."

"You just said it was Cecily." Josep wanted to continue pressing.

A now calm Percy raised his hand to stop Josep. "Enough, he's already scared out of his mind. No matter how much you press him, he won't give you an accurate answer."

Looking at the current situation, Percy had already roughly guessed what had happened.

Darian must have saved Freya, and then Blaise arrived to save Cecily. His men must have succeeded in their actions, which was why Blaise was so furious.

So Cecily should be in the hospital now.

And in that situation, as long as his men succeeded, Cecily's child would definitely not survive.

He thought, 'But how does Evander disappear? Could it be that Blaise, in his rage, captured everyone?'

If that was the case, Evander was now in Blaise's hands.

Percy jolted violently. He glanced at Josep, who hadn't fully recovered from his fear. He didn't have time to waste here with Josep.

After thinking it over, Percy said directly, "You better clean this up quickly. I have things to do, so I'm leaving."

As Percy was about to stride away, Josep grabbed him. "Don't go yet, what should I do?"

Percy had initially decided to wash his hands of Josep. After all, why should he care about Josep's fate?

But then he thought about it. With Josep around, there was still a chance to use him. If he were out of the picture, the Fitzgerald family would fall entirely under Darian's control.

Percy glanced at the few coffins. "You're a member of the Fitzgerald family. It's not that easy for him to kill you. Get more people to protect yourself. These are just things to scare you. As long as you're not afraid, just forget about it."

Percy spoke with a casual air, but for Josep, there was nothing easy about it. His heart felt like it was lodged in his throat. Each corpse on the ground seemed to spell out his own potential demise.

Percy patted Josep's shoulder heavily. "Calm down, don't let yourself be scared to death before anyone else kills you."

Josep swallowed and forced a smile. "Easy for you to say."

Percy said no more. With Evander still in Blaise's clutches, he was too preoccupied to deal with Josep's issues.

Seeing Percy leave, Josep immediately returned to the house and instructed his people to clean up. The more he looked at these things, the more frightened he became.

That night, no one was destined to sleep.

Meanwhile, Bryan wandered aimlessly, unsure of where to go. He had no desire to see Freya and wanted to check on Cecily, but he couldn't bring himself to get close. He stood outside the hospital room, peering through the observation window at Cecily.

Vivienne was inside with Cecily. The once cold and noble Vivienne was now holding Cecily's hand tightly, head bowed, crying so hard her shoulders trembled, fragile as if she would break at a touch.

Vivienne was consumed with regret.

Surrounded by the beeping machines monitoring Cecily's lifeless state, Vivienne's heart felt like it was breaking into pieces.

"Cecily, I'm so sorry. I should have told Bryan everything sooner. Maybe you wouldn't be in this dangerous situation if I had. I was wrong, and you didn't deserve this. Please, wake up. Please."

If she could, Vivienne would have gladly traded places with Cecily.

She apologized over and over, her prayers unanswered, drowning in self-blame. She resented Bryan and herself, knowing she was responsible too.

She had been too selfish, depriving Cecily of the right to have a father.

The medical staff, witnessing Vivienne's desperate and heart-wrenching sorrow, couldn't help but feel moved. They quietly lowered their heads, sharing in her grief.

Vivienne stayed with Cecily in the ward all night, and Bryan stood outside all night.

He couldn't get close, but he didn't dare to leave.

Darian had a lot on his plate. He'd heard about the Fitzgerald family drama from the previous night.

Blaise had sent coffins to Josep, and Josep was too scared to leave his house today.

But that wasn't enough, far from enough.

Josep had killed Patrick, almost killed Owen, put Cecily in grave danger, and caused them to lose a child.

In Darian's heart, any remaining familial affection for Josep had been exhausted. Now, even killing him wouldn't ease Darian's hatred.

Darian walked towards Cecily's ward and saw Bryan standing there like a statue, motionless.

Darian directly ignored Bryan's presence.

Bryan was Cecily's father, but he was also the one who almost got Cecily killed. Ignoring him was Darian's greatest mercy.

Bryan saw Darian and wanted to speak, but his throat felt paralyzed. He opened his mouth, but no words came out.

The doctor and Vivienne happened to come out of the ward. Vivienne's face was very pale, and as she walked out, she suddenly blacked out and fell forward without warning.

Bryan's eyes widened in alarm, and he lunged forward instinctively.

But the doctor and Darian were closer to Vivienne, and they caught her directly. Bryan's steps faltered, and he hesitated, knowing he was not the one to help.

Vivienne probably didn't want to see him the most right now.

The doctor looked at Vivienne's poor complexion. The weather wasn't particularly hot, but Vivienne's forehead was covered in sweat. The doctor frowned and asked, "Ms. Bennett, are you feeling unwell?"

Vivienne shook her head, indicating she was fine. "Please take good care of my daughter. Don't let anything happen to her. I can't lose her, please."

The doctor nodded, "Don't worry, we will do our best."

Vivienne nodded. She was in severe abdominal pain but didn't want anyone to notice. She turned and slowly walked away by herself.

The doctor watched Vivienne's back and then looked at Darian. "Mr. Fitzgerald, Ms. Bennett seems to have some health issues."

"What issues?" Darian asked.

The doctor pressed his lips. "I can't tell just by looking, but from her condition, I suggest you accompany her for a full body check-up, or at least pay more attention to her health regularly."
