Chapter 547 Can't Have Children Anymore

"Miss Miller, come with us." It was a man in that group.

Aurelie's hair was yanked, and fear instantly filled her mind, leaving her powerless to escape.

Meanwhile, Darian quickly tracked down Aurelie's last known location, it was an abandoned building in the suburbs, but the signal soon disappeared.

Darian glanced at the time, "It'll take us at least half an hour to get there. She's probably already been taken."

Cecily considered if Aurelie had offended anyone recently. After thinking it over, Cecily could only suspect one person.

Nathaniel's fiancée, Lillian.

Cecily looked up. "Go to the Lewis Manor and the hospital."

"What did you think of?"

"The person who kidnapped Aurelie is probably Lillian. Her target is the baby in Aurelie's belly, so Aurelie is either at the Lewis Manor or has been taken to a hospital for an abortion."Cecily explained.

"Got it." Darian notified his team to guard various hospitals while he drove Cecily to the Lewis Manor.

Blaise called, straightforwardly saying, "We found her at the Lewis Manor, but I advise you not to get involved."

"Why?"Aurelie was her best friend; Cecily couldn't just ignore it.

"Because it's a trap."

At Lewis Manor, Aurelie was forced to her knees as someone pinned her arms down.

She struggled to stay calm as the black hood was yanked off her head, the sudden brightness blinding her momentarily.

In front of her, sitting on a deep brown leather sofa, was Lillian. Beside her were her middle-aged parents, Brent Lewis and Laura Simmons.

Lillian walked over with an air of elegance and grasped Aurelie's chin firmly. "Miss Miller, I warned you I wouldn't let you off easy."

"What do you want?" Aurelie bit out through clenched teeth.

Lillian smiled, her tone chillingly pleasant. "What a question. We're not the villains here. In fact, I'm actually helping you this time. You should be thinking about how to thank me."

"Thank you for wanting my child's life?" Aurelie's eyes were filled with scorn. "Nathaniel already promised you the baby. Isn't that enough for you?"

Lillian's expression darkened abruptly. She grabbed Aurelie's neck, squeezing hard.

Aurelie gasped for breath, the air constricting in her throat.

"Why should I raise your child? Are you trying to insult me?" Lillian's voice was laced with venom.

"What do you want from me?" The pressure on her throat increased, and Lillian seemed almost ready to strangle her on the spot.

"Lillian! Stop it." Brent's voice cut through the tension. "Get Miss Lewis off her."

Two servants stepped in, prying Lillian away after a tense struggle.

Aurelie collapsed to the floor, gasping for air like a fish out of water.

Brent signaled his staff to untie Aurelie and helped her onto the sofa.

"Miss Miller, please don't take it personally. Lillian's a bit spoiled, but are you hurt?"

Laura examined Aurelie's neck with a concerned expression. "Lillian, you really went too far. Look at the damage you've done. Miss Miller, I'll have someone treat your wounds. Don't be upset."

Aurelie quickly realized that tonight wasn't just about making her miscarry.

"What do you want from me?" she asked warily, eyeing them all.

Laura's smile was soothing. "Actually, Lillian wasn't lying. We are here to help you."

She reached out and took Aurelie's hand, patting it gently. "Aurelie, I think you haven't seen your father in a while, have you?""What are you talking about?"

Laura waved her hand, and soon two bodyguards brought in a disheveled middle-aged man—Joshua!

Joshua couldn't even meet Aurelie's gaze, his eyes darting nervously.

Seeing Joshua like this, Aurelie sprang to her feet. "You? What have you done to him?"

Lillian snapped back, "Aurelie, stop playing the blame game. Your father was rescued by my brother. Otherwise, he'd have been left to rot overseas."

Aurelie's face went pale. She turned to Joshua. "You've been gambling again, haven't you?"

Aurelie stormed over and yanked Joshua's collar. "Last time Nathaniel lent you $16 million to cover your debts, did you use it to gamble again? Speak up! Tell me!"

Lillian sat back, looking rather amused by the spectacle.

"Miss Miller, please, calm down," Laura said in a sympathetic tone, stepping forward to pull Aurelie back.

Ignoring her, Aurelie demanded, "How much did you lose this time? How much?"

Joshua, trembling, lifted his hand and held up two fingers.

"Two million dollars?"

Joshua shook his head.

"Twenty million dollars?" Aurelie's eyes widened in shock, her lips trembling.

Joshua shook his head again.

Lillian let out a light, mocking laugh. "Stop guessing. Your dear father lost a whopping 200 million dollars. Surprised? It wouldn't even be enough if you sold your whole family."

The words hit Aurelie like a ton of bricks, crushing her completely.

"How is that even possible?" Aurelie's face turned pale, and she stood frozen, unable to move. "It can't be true."

"Can't be true?" Lillian sneered. "Do you think we're lying? Why don't you ask your precious father how he ended up being held down and almost had his hands chopped off? If it weren't for my brother stepping in and paying back 20 million dollars on his behalf, do you really think he'd be alive right now?"

It took Aurelie a moment to find her voice. "Is what she's saying true?"

Joshua, looking guilty, finally lifted his gaze and nodded vigorously, shattering Aurelie's last shred of hope.

Tears streamed down Aurelie's face in large, uncontrollable drops.

For a long time, Aurelie tried to speak but couldn't manage a sound.

How much had she paid off for Joshua? Too much to remember. Since she started working at twenty-one, nearly all the money she earned, aside from her own living expenses, had gone towards clearing Joshua's debts.

Six million dollars might have been manageable, but 200 million? She couldn't even fathom how to repay that amount.

Aurelie turned to the three people sitting on the sofa, her lips pressed into a thin, white line, and weakly asked, "How do you expect us to repay these 20 million dollars?"

Laura handed Aurelie a document. "Miss Miller, please take a look at this."

Aurelie took the agreement with trembling hands. Just one glance, and her face went even whiter.

A uterus donation agreement!

Aurelie's gaze lingered on the words for what seemed like an eternity, tears falling from her eyes onto the page.

"Miss Miller," Laura continued, "Lillian had a previous injury and had to undergo a hysterectomy. If you're willing to terminate your pregnancy and donate your uterus to Lillian, we can forgive the twenty million dollars. We've checked, and your blood type matches Lillian's. If the donation is successful, we might be able to get the Zagrabbit Casino to extend your father's deadline, saving his life."

Aurelie remained silent.

"Aurelie, we're offering to save your father and wipe out the debt. Your child and your uterus aren't worth that much money. Just sign the document," Lillian urged impatiently.

Laura glanced at Joshua. "Mr. Miller, you should convince your daughter. Her decision is the key to your life."

Hearing this, Joshua, terrified, dropped to his knees in agony.

"Aurelie, I don't want to die. Please agree to this. You'll just lose the ability to have children, but you can save me."

Aurelie looked up, her lips trembling with fear, and tightly shut her eyes.

Cecily arrived at the Lewis Manor and was about to get out of the car when Darian stopped her.

At that moment, another car pulled up quickly, and Blaise stepped out, blocking Cecily's path.

"Are you here to pay off the debt?" Blaise leaned against the car door, stopping Cecily.

Cecily frowned. "Is the 200 million dollars really true? How did Joshua lose so much?"

"He went in with 16 million dollars," Blaise explained, "He won a lot at first, but then he bet ten million dollars in one go, lost it all in one roll, and ended up owing 200 million."

"Was he conned?"

"It's a common trick at casinos. With Joshua's kind of brain, it's no surprise he got played," Blaise said with a faint smile.

"So, what does this have to do with the Lewis family?"

"Joshua tried to run away after losing the bet, but he was caught. It was the Lewis family that put up twenty million dollars to save him. However, they wouldn't do it for free. They're probably looking for something from Aurelie."

Cecily knew Aurelie's character; she wouldn't abandon Joshua, but 200 million dollars was beyond Aurelie's means.

Cecily tried to rush in, but Darian still held her back. "Don't be impulsive. The only thing you can do by going in there now is to pay off the debt for Aurelie. Do you really want to do that?"

"I can afford it; it'll help her."

Blaise found it amusing. "Yes, you can afford it, but have you thought about it? If you pay the debt in Aurelie's name for her father, she might never be able to pay you back. Clear accounts between siblings. You don't seriously think you don't need her to repay you, do you? Are you so rich that you have nowhere to spend your money?"
