Chapter 304 Announces the Real Cecily Has Been Found

Ophelia quickly answered Eliza's call.

"What's going on?"

Ophelia said, "I've told Darian about this, but he doesn't believe me."

Eliza had anticipated this. Darian wouldn't easily believe Ophelia's words based on just a few sentences.

However, he definitely harbored doubts and suspicions.

Her task now was to amplify these doubts until the whole truth was revealed to Darian.

Eliza gently touched her face, confirming that her disfigurement from the accident was real.

The accident she mentioned was the one she experienced with Patrick, where she was in the car and witnessed everything that happened.

She saw Patrick trapped in the car, burning to death because he couldn't escape in time.

Eliza clenched her fists, closed her eyes tightly, haunted by the images of that night, fear rushing back instantly.

"What if Darian doesn't believe? Why are you silent?" Ophelia on the other end, seeing Eliza quiet, asked urgently.

Eliza's eyes narrowed with determination as she coldly remarked, "It's okay if he doesn't believe us. We just need to sow the seed of doubt in his mind. You've handled this situation admirably, so you're in the clear for now. Let's end the call.”

"Wait."

"Is there something else?"

"You told me you would deal with Cecily sooner or later. When will do start?"

Ophelia despised Cecily so much that she wanted her gone immediately.

"No need to rush, it will happen in due time. If you want her gone, just do as I say. Do you understand?" Eliza asked softly.

Cecily was willing to do whatever it took to ensure that she was no longer in the picture.

"Yes."

With Cecily out of the way, she could have a chance with Darian and become Mrs. Fitzgerald.

Ophelia looked forward to that day.

Eliza smiled. "I'll call you if needed later. Don't reach out to me unnecessarily. Too much contact might expose us. Besides, my identity..."

"I'll keep it a secret from anyone."

Currently, Eliza was her only ally, and she wouldn't risk revealing her identity.

Except for Cecily, anyone could become Ms. Bennett, and she wouldn't mind.

"That's good." Eliza hung up directly, staring at her phone, her eyes narrowed.

Suddenly, there was a commotion outside, like an argument.

Eliza furrowed her brow and called out, "Someone come in."

A servant entered. "Miss."

"What's going on outside?" Eliza pushed herself up, feeling a sharp pain spreading through her back, causing cold sweat.

Enduring the pain, Eliza wished she could get rid of the foolish Ophelia.

“The Watson family members are being asked to leave the Bennett family at Desmond's request," the servant replied to Eliza's inquiry.

"What?" Eliza frowned, a sudden movement almost causing her unbearable pain.

The servant hurried over to support her. "Miss, be careful."

"Why would he do that?"

They were being asked to leave Bennett's Family, and Eliza sensed a crisis.

Eliza found the Watson family members to be helpful, so she quickly went outside where the manager, Keaen, and Hunter were waiting.

"What are you all doing?" Eliza asked quickly.

"Cecily, they want to kick us out" Raphael stood by Eliza, looking anxious.

The Bennett family relished in the finest things and had no desire to depart.
"Desmond, what's going on? Why are they being asked to leave? They are my family," Eliza questioned the managers.

Before Desmond could reply, Keaen smirked and said, "No, they are your family, not ours. Your identity seems questionable. The Watson Family has been relying on the Bennett Family for far too long. Isn't it time for them to move on? Are you planning to take control of the Bennett Family?”

"That’s nonsense. My daughter is the Miss Bennett. I'm not only Cecily's family but also Vivienne's husband. Vivienne is the head of Bennett's Family, and as her husband, I should live here. Any problem with that?" Raphael retorted angrily.

"Can you be more shameless? You had an affair and had a daughter with your mistress. Then you brought your mistress into the family. Do you have the nerve to call yourself my sister's husband?" Keaen mocked disdainfully.

"That's because I and her never..." Raphael was about to spill the beans about the arranged marriage with Vivienne.

Vivienne was never truly his wife. She was already pregnant when they tied the knot, and she entered into the marriage for personal gain. Throughout the years, Vivienne never allowed him to be intimate with her. Did this mean he wasn't even permitted to engage with other women?

Raphael was furious but couldn't reveal these details.

"You and her never what?" Hunter asked with narrowed eyes.

Raphael gritted his teeth, remaining silent.

Seeing this, Eliza intervened, seemingly helpless, "Alright, since Desmond and Uncle have made up your minds, I'll have Grandma and Dad leave later."

Raphael had expected Eliza to keep them there, not send them away. "Why..."

"Dad!" Eliza interrupted, halting Raphael's speech. "Since they are suspicious of my identity and won't allow you to remain at the Bennett's Family, you should leave for the time being. I am Cecily, and I trust that the manager can reveal the truth and vindicate me.”

“But Desmond," Eliza's tone shifted as she gazed at him, "This incident has made the Bennett Family a laughingstock in front of the guests tonight. Plus, with numerous media outlets in attendance, it's likely that someone has already leaked this online.”

Eliza's guess was right. Even if Desmond had intervened in time, some quick media reporters would have spread the incident online.

With the internet being so developed, and this incident being so sensational, it would soon become widely known.

“Moreover, tonight, these guests may refrain from openly discussing it out of deference to the Bennett Family's influence, but there's a chance that private conversations could spread the news. With two Ms. Bennetts surfacing, what is your plan until the truth is unveiled?"
Desmond frowned in concern.

What could he do? He had tried to control the situation, but with so many people present, it was impossible to silence everyone.

"Are you suggesting a solution?" Desmond looked at Eliza.

Eliza nodded. "I have a way to stop the gossip. I just don't know if you all agree."

"Go on."

Eliza suggested, "I believe we should announce tomorrow that the Bennett family has located the genuine Cecily. This will help put an end to any more rumors. However, this will be our official statement, and we will continue our private inquiry. Given that my appearance is identical to the imposter's, it's merely a case of mistaken identity. It will be impossible for anyone to discern the truth.”

Eliza's proposal had its merits. It would quell the gossip and give them time to investigate privately.

Since their faces were identical, with different people behind them, no one would notice the switch.

Eliza looked at the managers. "What do you think?"

After some thought, weighing the pros and cons, Desmond nodded. "Let's go with that."

Eliza smirked inwardly.

The next day, Cecily woke up from her sleep and saw two little ones sleeping peacefully beside her.

With a gentle expression, she adjusted their blankets and then looked to the other side, finding it empty.

It was early, and Darian shouldn't be up yet. Did he not come back last night?

Cecily felt a slight worry and carefully got out of bed, putting on her slippers and heading to the living room.

The quietness in the living room revealed no sign of Darian. Cecily walked towards another study room.

In the luxuriously decorated study, the curtains were drawn, and it was silent inside.

Cecily was about to turn on the lights when she noticed a man on the sofa.

Darian was still in his white shirt, slightly unbuttoned, eyes closed as if asleep. Even in slumber, his brows were furrowed.

Did he sleep here last night?

Cecily lowered her voice, took a blanket, and walked over.

The man, not fully asleep, heard the movement and opened his eyes, catching the woman's hand reaching out to him.

His eyes held no warmth, just a chilling coldness.
