Chapter 675 Acting Cute to Seek Forgiveness

Cecily looked at Giselle for a few seconds, silently tugging at the corner of her lips. Under Giselle's nervous gaze, Cecily turned back and shook her head at Darian. "I drank it myself; no one made me drink."

Darian looked at Cecily helplessly, his brows furrowing even tighter. "Knowing you can't drink, you still drank. Is your health not important?"

Hearing Darian's somewhat angry voice, Cecily softly apologized to him, "I really just had a little bit of red wine, not hard liquor. It's okay. Don't be mad, alright?"

Darian, hearing that Cecily was feeling unwell but still didn't take it seriously, got even angrier, "If you keep this up, I'll have to accompany you every time you go out to eat."

Cecily knew Darian was concerned about her health.

Bitterly pursing her lips, she thought about how she drank Giselle's glass not because she couldn't refuse, but partly because she was in a bad mood and wanted to drink a little, not wanting to suppress her feelings.

Who knew her alcohol tolerance had become so poor?

Giselle, listening to their conversation, was afraid Cecily might change her mind and complain to Darian, saying she forced her to drink to make things difficult. She stepped forward and said, "Darian, Cecily didn't drink much, just a little bit."

"A little bit is still too much, not even a drop is allowed. She can't drink." Darian's voice was very deep, and he seemed genuinely angry.

Giselle didn't understand why Darian was so upset about Cecily drinking. And it seemed more like he was afraid of her drinking rather than angry.

It was just a bit of alcohol, could it really be that serious?

Cecily felt like throwing up again. She leaned against Darian's chest, frowning uncomfortably, and tugged at his shirt with her small hand. "Let's go home; I want to sleep."

Seeing Cecily's discomfort, Darian didn't say a word, picked her up horizontally, settled her in the back seat, and quickly drove away.

As soon as they left, the people who had been afraid to gossip immediately started talking.

"Ms. Watson's husband is really Darian. She's so low-key, never mentioned it."

"Well, now Darian is fully in charge of the Fitzgerald Group. In the future, if Vivienne hands the company over to Ms. Watson, our Bennett Group and the Fitzgerald Group will join forces, and our future development will be much better."

"Shut up." Giselle, having held in her anger all night, finally exploded upon hearing them constantly talk about Cecily inheriting the company.

"Isn't the Bennett family more than just Cecily? The company isn't just hers either. We choose our successor based on ability, not who they marry. How can you be so sure Cecily will be the one?" she added.

The crowd fell silent for a few seconds, realizing she was upset about this issue. The smart ones quickly smoothed things over. "Giselle, don't mind us. We just had a bit to drink and were talking nonsense. Of course, the successor will be chosen based on ability."

"Yeah, we were just talking. Giselle. You and Ms. Watson are both excellent and have the potential to inherit the company."

"Exactly, you guys stop talking nonsense."

Giselle listened to these words but didn't feel any better and turned to leave.

Damn Cecily, why did she have to come!

Darian brought Cecily home, and she leaned limply against him.

Desmond saw Darian carrying Cecily in and quickly came forward with concern. "Mr. Fitzgerald, what happened to Ms. Watson?"

Darian replied, "She drank a bit, and got drunk."

"Then I'll have someone make some soup for her."

"Alright." Darian carried Cecily upstairs to their room.

Cecily softly said, "Darian, I feel a bit uncomfortable."

Darian placed her on the bed, took off her shoes, and covered her with a blanket.

He went to get her a glass of water and handed it to her. "Feeling lousy now, huh? Will you drink again next time?"

Hearing the obvious anger in Darian's voice, Cecily obediently shook her head, then took a few sips of the water he gave her.

"Didn't learn your lesson, huh? Next time you go out to eat, I'll be there to keep an eye on you."

"I really won't drink again."

"You said the same thing last time. You've lost all your credibility with me." Darian spoke very seriously to Cecily.

Cecily leaned unsteadily against Darian, who let her lean on him, his hand resting on her waist, his eyes filled with undisguised heartache and self-blame.

Seeing his stern face, Cecily thought he was still angry. She lifted her head and, under Darian's gaze, suddenly kissed his lips.

Darian maintained his hold on her, feeling the softness of her lips. His eyes darkened, and his hand on her waist tightened.

Cecily kissed him again and then pulled away, her beautiful eyes looking at him. Her face, slightly flushed from the alcohol, had a hint of a rosy glow. She softly promised, "Don't be mad, okay? I swear, I won't drink at all next time."

But Darian didn't plan to let it go so easily. If he did, she'd do it again next time.

Darian leaned closer to Cecily.

Cecily closed her eyes and pouted.

Seeing her like this, Darian wanted to laugh. He let go of her and said coldly, "Go to sleep."

"Huh?" Cecily thought Darian was going to kiss her, but instead, he suddenly told her to sleep.

Cecily looked at the man in shock as he walked out coldly.

Was this really the same Darian who couldn't get enough of her every time they kissed?

Cecily fell back onto the soft bed, only to hit her head on the headboard with a loud sound.

Cecily held her head, almost crying. The next second, Darian rushed in from outside. "Where did you hit?"

Tears welled up in Cecily's eyes as she looked at him, feeling aggrieved. "You didn't leave?"

Seeing her holding her head, Darian immediately understood she had hit it. He bent down to check. "You really need to be more careful!"

Cecily reached out and hugged his waist, her face pressed against his chest.

Darian paused, feeling both heartache and helplessness. He silently rubbed her aching head. "Does it still hurt?"

"Yeah." Cecily responded softly, her voice tinged with a bit of a sob.

Darian gently rubbed her head for a few minutes before letting go. Cecily grabbed his hand and placed it back on her head. "Keep rubbing, don't go."
