Chapter 464 You Will Pay for This Slap

"Come have breakfast," Vivienne called the servant to serve Darian and Cecily. She then looked at Darian and asked, "How are you recovering?"

"There's been no problem at all."

Darian sat up straight, looking like he was meeting his girlfriend's parents for the first time.

"That's good. Thanks for saving Cecily that day."

"She's my wife, it's my duty."

"Wife?" Vivienne raised an eyebrow, put down her spoon, and looked at Darian.

Cecily saw Vivienne's expression and felt a pang in her heart.

"Mom."

"Don't say anything yet."

Darian nodded. "Yes, she is my wife."

"Are you planning to remarry Cecily?" Vivienne asked seriously.

Cecily turned to look at Darian, who was also looking at her.

"As long as Cecily is willing, I can do it anytime. Whether we remarry now or not, I'll always treat her as my wife."

Vivienne chuckled and shook her head. "There are still many unresolved issues between you. You shouldn't say such things before you deal with everything. The Fitzgerald family has a lot of messes to clean up. No one can predict the future. I don't want Cecily to follow you into danger again, and I believe you don't want that either."

Vivienne's message was clear: until the Fitzgerald family issues were resolved, she wouldn't allow Cecily to remarry Darian.

Darian agreed with Vivienne. Cecily couldn't follow him into danger again, so the Fitzgerald family issues needed to be resolved quickly.

Darian had already asked Larkin to arrange for his discharge last night. After breakfast, he had to go to the company today.

Cecily had promised to accompany Aurelie to the hospital for a prenatal checkup yesterday and hadn't forgotten about that.

Before leaving, Vivienne gave Cecily a lot of advice.

Cecily accompanied Aurelie to the hospital. Aurelie looked tired. There were faint dark circles under her eyes, probably because she hadn't slept all night.

Cecily held Aurelie's hand and gently comforted her, "Relax, don't be nervous."

Aurelie smiled lightly and leaned on Cecily's shoulder, her mind in turmoil, hesitating about whether to keep the baby.

The prenatal checkup report came out quickly. The fetus was twelve weeks old and currently very stable.

The doctor advised, "The fetus is stable, but you still need to be careful. It's only been just over three months, so avoid intercourse for the next few weeks, and make sure to supplement with nutrition and vitamins. If you experience any symptoms..."

The doctor saw that Aurelie was sitting in the chair absent-mindedly and not listening at all. Her face was full of confusion and indecision.

"Miss Miller?"

"Doctor, if I want an abortion, can it be done today?" Aurelie asked after hesitating for a long time.

"Abortion?" The doctor gave Aurelie a deep look.

"Aurelie, you need to think this through. Don't make a hasty decision," Cecily quickly walked in from outside.

The doctor said, "Miss Miller, abortion is a big decision and requires a family member's signature. Where is your husband?"

"I don't have a husband."

The doctor paused, seeming to understand the situation. Such things were not uncommon in the hospital, so the doctor wasn't too surprised.

The doctor continued, "Regardless, I would still advise you to think it over before making a decision. Abortion is not just about terminating a pregnancy; it also causes irreversible damage to your body. Discuss it with your family and friends first."

Aurelie pressed her lips tightly, looking at the doctor with eyes full of hesitation.

Cecily thanked the doctor and pulled Aurelie out.

"Do you really not want this baby? Have you thought it through?"

Aurelie smiled bitterly. "The baby's father is about to marry someone else. What's the point of keeping his child? Should I let him grow up without a father?"

"I don't know what's going on between you and Nathaniel, but you should at least ask his opinion. Otherwise, you might regret it."

"I don't need to ask him anything. It's my child, and I'll decide."

"Miss Miller?" A voice called from behind.

Aurelie turned to see Lillian walking over in high heels. Aurelie looked at her coldly.

What a coincidence to run into Lillian here.

"Miss Miller, why are you at the hospital? Are you feeling unwell?" Lillian glanced at Aurelie and then at the department she had just walked out of.

Obstetrics and Gynecology!

Lillian's eyes narrowed, and her gaze shifted to Aurelie's abdomen. She hesitantly asked, "Are you pregnant?"

Aurelie clenched the prenatal checkup report in her hand. "Is it any of your business?"

Aurelie didn't want to talk to her and was about to leave with Cecily.

But Lillian caught up and blocked their way. "You're pregnant with my fiancé's child. How is it not my business?"

Aurelie looked at her coldly.

"Aurelie, if you are really pregnant, I hope you get an abortion immediately."

"You hope?" Aurelie found it laughable. "Do you think you have a say over my child? Cecily, let's go."

Lillian shouted from behind them, "Aurelie, Nathaniel and I are getting married soon. We'll be legally married, and your pregnancy will mean nothing. Even if you give birth, it will mean nothing. Will you be a mistress and an illegitimate child?"

Lillian's tone carried a sense of superiority. Every word dripped with sarcasm.

"Or do you think having a child will bind Nathaniel to you? You've been with Nathaniel for a year, right? Has he ever told you he loves you?"

Aurelie froze in place, clenching her fists. Cecily listened to these words and turned back, but Aurelie reached out to stop her.

Cecily ignored Aurelie and walked toward Lillian. "Lillian, is it?"

"Yes."

Cecily nodded. "I just heard you use the word 'mistress.' Do you understand what that word means?"

Lillian squinted her eyes in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"I think you might not understand the meaning of that word. Aurelie was with Nathaniel first. They were boyfriend and girlfriend.

You went to the hotel to throw yourself at Nathaniel and even sent photos to Aurelie to show off. You still did these things even though you knew Nathaniel had a girlfriend. The word 'mistress' seems more fitting for you, don't you think?"

Lillian was annoyed by Cecily's words. "The one who isn't loved is the third wheel. Do you know why Nathaniel was with her? Because her features resemble mine. That's why Nathaniel was with her. She was just a stand-in for me when I wasn't around Nathaniel."

"Really? If Nathaniel loves you as much as you say, why didn't he touch you when you were lying naked on his bed at the hotel?"

Cecily hadn't known about this originally; Aurelie who told her about it. It had happened on the night of the Lockwood family banquet.

"Why, you!" Lillian was hit where it hurt and trembled with anger.

"So what? He's willing to marry me now. If you give birth, the child will be an unacknowledged illegitimate child, and you will be a shameless mistress."

Aurelie slapped Lillian.

Lillian screamed, feeling a numb pain on her cheek. She looked up at Aurelie in disbelief. "You dared to hit me?"

Aurelie clenched the prenatal checkup report in her hand, looking at Lillian with icy eyes. "Whether I have this child or not is my business. It has nothing to do with Nathaniel, and even less to do with you. Also, please understand your position. You were the one who came between us."

Aurelie pulled Cecily away.

Lillian covered her face. No one had ever dared to hit her like this. "Aurelie, you will pay for that slap."
