Chapter 445 Daddy, Mommy, I Found Something
Larkin got the hint and led them out without a fuss.
Cecily leaned back on the sofa, exhaled, and looked at Darian. "What's your plan for dealing with Josep?"
"Let's handle the current mess first."
The main issue was Cecily getting slammed online, with all the hate aimed at her.
Josep was causing trouble because of Darian, but that was more of a family issue they could tackle later.
If the online attacks kept up, Cecily's life would be a nightmare.
"Alright," Cecily agreed.
Josep's problems were bigger than just this; they'd need to be sorted out over time.
Cecily sighed. "What do you think Owen would do if he knew all the bad stuff Josep's done?"
She was talking about everything, including Patrick's death. There wasn't solid proof, but it was likely.
Darian's face turned serious as he thought about it.
After a long pause, he finally said, "He's his only son."
Cecily pressed her lips together.
Yeah, he was Owen's only son.
Owen was old and just wanted family peace and lots of grandkids. It'd be tough for him to be hard on his only son.
When the truth came out, it would be brutal for the over-eighty-year-old Owen.
Cecily actually felt a bit sorry for the stubborn Owen.
"Are you worried about Owen?" Darian asked, noticing her concern.
Cecily met his gaze. "You really get me now. You can even see that."
Darian raised an eyebrow. "Your emotions are all over your face. It's not hard to guess."
Cecily softly replied, "Then I'll keep everything inside from now on and not show anything."
Darian looked at her seriously. "You need to do that outside, but with me, you can express your emotions freely. No need to hold back."
Cecily's eyes softened, and she smiled. "So, can I vent my anger on you?"
Darian felt she was missing the point.
"Really?"
"Yes," Darian said.
Cecily snorted. "You hesitated, which means you're not really okay with it. Might as well not answer."
When a girl wanted to be difficult, everything you do was wrong. Darian was caught off guard.
Cecily pushed him away. "I don't want to talk to you anymore. Go play with your two sons."
Rowan and Griffin were at the computer, fiddling with something.
Darian stayed silent.
Cecily tried to stand up, but Darian pulled her back into his arms. "Where are you going?"
"To get dinner ready. Don't we all need to eat?"
"I already asked someone to handle it. You don't need to."
Cecily pressed her lips together. "Fine, the video repair service hasn't replied yet. I need something else to do."
"Ask me that question again."
Cecily was puzzled. "What?"
"Ask it again," Darian said patiently.
Cecily hesitated. "So, can I vent my anger on you?"
"Yes." This time, Darian answered without hesitation, worried she'd get upset if he delayed.
Cecily stared at him, stunned.
After a moment, she realized how childish this Q&A was. She had been joking, but Darian took it seriously. She smiled. "I was joking."
"I'm serious."
Cecily's eyes widened.
They were very close, their breaths mingling.
Darian's affectionate gaze was fixed on her delicate face.
Sensing the shift in the atmosphere, Cecily tried to get up, but Darian's face moved closer. She froze, unable to move.
Darian had intended to tease her, but seeing she didn't pull away, he continued.
Just as his lips were about to touch hers, Griffin turned around and said, "Daddy, Mommy, I found something."
Cecily snapped out of it and pushed Darian away.
Darian looked at her, busy in his arms, and smiled helplessly.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
Cecily gritted her teeth and glared at him.
She realized she needed to keep her distance from Darian when others were around, especially the kids.
She stood up, walked over to Rowan and Griffin, bent down, and asked, "What did you find, Griffin?"
