Chapter 537 So the Paternity Test is Real

Vivienne frowned tightly..

"Are you doubting the paternity test? You mean I prepared it to deceive you?" she asked.

"Didn't you?" said Bryan.

Their eyes met, the tension instantly enveloping them..

Vivienne didn't deny that she orchestrated everything because she knew that the paternity test wouldn't reach Bryan.

And because she knew that Freya would go mad with fear upon seeing the paternity test, she designed this whole scenario.

She also didn't deny her desire for revenge against them.

But her intention was to let Bryan know that Cecily was his biological daughter.

However, now Bryan was saying the paternity test was fake.

Fake?

Did she have so much free time to make a fake paternity test just to deceive Bryan?

A surge of anger gripped Vivienne, causing a tightness in her chest as she grappled with intense emotions.

Bryan said, "Now that you've achieved your goal, both Freya and I have been punished. Freya is severely burned, and her fate is unknown. I got nothing but empty joy. Does this make you feel a bit better?"

Vivienne quietly listened Bryan speak. "Are you done?"

"Yes."

Vivienne asked, "Do you want to hear about Cecily's childhood?"

Bryan looked at Vivienne, his eyes filled with complex emotions. "If you're willing to talk."

"You know, I hated you so much that I also despised the child who had your blood.

When I first found out I was pregnant, I wished the fetus in my belly would disappear immediately, but when I actually lay on the operating table, I couldn't bear it.

Such an innocent child, only three months old, had to bear my hatred for you and lose the right to come into this world.

Thinking it over, I decided to keep the child.

Later, I ran away. To avoid being found by you, I chose to change my name and leave her to the Watson family. I gave birth to a girl. At that time, she was so small in my arms. She was very cute and very smart. Soon, she could call me mom. Everyone liked her.

I thought my choice was right.

Later, you found me. After so many years, you still wouldn't let me go, and I had to return to that cold room.

You wouldn't leave me alone, so I ould make sure you regret it.

What is the greatest revenge for you?

It's seeing your biological daughter but only being able to watch her call someone else dad.

I thought, one day when you found out that your beloved biological daughter had been calling someone else dad for decades, that would be spectacular.

Seeing you in pain, I was afraid I would laugh out loud.

But the truth is, I couldn't laugh. I was in pain because of my hatred and selfishness. My child suffered countless injuries.

I thought if I hadn't run away, maybe I wouldn't be happy, but at least she would have a loving father and wouldn't have to envy others.

If I had told you earlier, she would have been well protected, and no one would dare to bully her because everyone would know that her father loved her very much, and she was the apple of her father's eye. They would know father would shield her from the wind and rain.

But it's too late to say all this. She has already suffered the pain she shouldn't have. She has lost what she shouldn't have lost, and everything is irreparable, so nothing matters anymore, including you and me."

Vivienne gave a bitter smile. In fact, all of Cecily's suffering originated from her.

If she hadn't chosen to leave her in the Watson family, Cecily wouldn't have suffered various abandonments.

If she hadn't made that call to Patrick, Owen wouldn't have thought she killed his son and taken it out on Cecily.

If she had told Bryan earlier that Cecily was his biological daughter, Cecily wouldn't have been taken for exchange, so she wouldn't have lost her child.

There were many major choices in life, and she made all the wrong ones, leading to this chain of events.

It was too late to fix everything, so nothing mattered anymore.

Vivienne sighed lightly, "I've said everything I needed to say. Take care of yourself."

Bryan was still immersed in Vivienne's words, his eyes fixed on her.

Bryan's emotions were in a constant state of flux, cycling through a range of feelings: surprise, excitement, anxiety, guilt, and regret. Ultimately, they settled into a profound sense of heartache.

His eyes gradually reddened and became tearful, staring fixedly at Vivienne's back. As if a switch had been pressed, he didn't move.

Vivienne's words echoed in his mind over and over.

His heart was filled with a strange emotion, beating fiercely.

All he could hear was his own heartbeat.

So, Vivienne didn't abort the child. She gave birth to their child, and that child was Cecily.

Cecily really was his biological daughter.

Absolutely.

What had he done?

Bryan stood there, unable to recover for a long time.

Vivienne walked out step by step, her pace slowing down. Finally, she squatted in a corner, clutching her abdomen tightly. Even though she was wearing a lot, she still felt cold all over.

The pain coursing through her stomach felt as though all her organs were simultaneously throbbing and decaying.

Maybe this was retribution. It was her retribution, and so was Bryan's.

"Vivienne!" Wade saw Vivienne squatting on the floor and immediately ran over to her.

He was a doctor and understood the pain of late-stage stomach cancer. Seeing Vivienne biting her lips, leaving one tooth mark after another, he knew how much pain she was enduring.

"Can you still walk?" he asked.

Vivienne took a deep breath and replied, "I'm fine. Don't worry."

Wade bent down and picked Vivienne up horizontally. Vivienne pushed him, saying, "Let go of me. This is inappropriate."

Wade carried her quickly towards the clinic. "There's nothing inappropriate. Whether it's you or another patient, I would do the same."

Vivienne gave a bitter smile. "Do I look quite pitiful now?"

Wade frowned. "You should accept treatment."

"Can it be cured?" Vivienne asked.

Wade pressed his lips tightly together. Stomach cancer was always a difficult diagnosis, but at this advanced and irreversible stage, there was simply nothing more that could be done.

Vivienne knew it too well.

So she wouldn't treat it. She didn't want to die painfully during treatment.

She thought she had resolved everything she wanted and it was time for her to leave.

Cecily waited in the ward for Vivienne, but she didn't come back. Cecily was worried, afraid that Vivienne had an argument with Bryan. When she went out to look for her, she saw Sam standing at the door of a ward.

Cecily walked over to inquire and found out that Vivienne had already left.

Cecily glanced at Bryan's ward, not intending to go in. She left while calling Vivienne.

She ran into a familiar face at the corner. It was Wade.

"Uncle Wade."

"Cecily, where are you rushing to?"

Cecily put down her phone. "I don't know where my mom went. I'm worried about her, so I came out to look for her."

Wade nodded. "I just saw her. She seemed upset and left the hospital."

"Left?" Cecily frowned. "Alright, I'll call her again."

Cecily thanked him and left. Wade suddenly called out to her, "Cecily, spend more time with Vivienne. She needs company."

Hearing Wade's words, Cecily thought Bryan must have upset Vivienne again, causing her to be in a bad mood and need company. Cecily nodded, "I will."

Cecily called Vivienne while walking back to the ward. When she opened the door, she saw that Bryan had moved his bed over to her ward again.
