Chapter 323 Ms. Watson, Eliza Invites You
Cecily frowned. She knew Darian was worried about her, but to let her knowingly wait for Vincent to die, she really couldn't do it.
She had seen Vincent when the poison took effect, and it was very painful. If she didn't go, Vincent would die in such pain in two days. He was only twenty years old, the best age, and shouldn't end here.
"Stay at home. There's no need to discuss this anymore," Darian decided. Cecily didn't argue with him anymore and turned to stride upstairs.
Larkin watched nervously, thinking they were about to have a fight.
"Boss, why don't you just tell Miss Cecily that you're doing this for her own good?"
"You think she doesn't know?"
Darian lit a cigarette but, remembering Cecily didn't like the smell, decided against it.
"Miss Cecily will understand your good intentions."
"She understands but doesn't agree," Darian's eyes were deep.
Cecily was sentimental and couldn't just stand by and watch someone die.
But it didn't matter. If she couldn't do it, he would.
Vincent's life couldn't compare to her safety.
Let him make this cruel decision; if she had to hate someone, let her hate him.
"Is Eliza still in Detroit?"
"The people we sent reported that she went to Silver Frost Capital."
"Send someone to find her," Darian ordered. "Also, have someone keep an eye on Cecily. She is not allowed to leave the house during this time."
Larkin looked troubled, "Boss if Vincent really dies, even if Miss Cecily understands you, there will still be a rift between you."
Darian looked up at the upstairs and said softly, "Nothing is more important than her safety."
If Cecily really went to find Eliza, it would be trading her life for Vincent's. Eliza would surely have a trap waiting for her. It was too dangerous, and he wouldn't allow her to take the risk.
Late at night.
Darian returned to the room. The lights were off, and it was silent as if she was asleep.
Darian tiptoed to the bedside, looking down at her peaceful sleeping face. His cool fingertips brushed her cheek gently.
"Cecily, don't blame me. In my eyes, Vincent's life is far less important than yours."
Cecily actually didn't sleep all night, thinking about many things. Early the following day, she opened her eyes and saw Darian holding her as he slept. Cecily quietly moved his hand, got out of bed, and put on her shoes.
Just as she was about to leave, Darian's deep voice came, "Where are you going so early?"
Cecily's body trembled, and she turned to see him awake, his deep eyes calmly watching her, taking in all her actions.
"I'm going to work."
"Do you really feel like working?" Darian glanced at the clock on the wall, "You're not going today. Rest at home. It's still early; go back to sleep."
Cecily pressed her lips together, "Do you have to do this?"
"I'm doing it for your own good."
The atmosphere was tense.
Cecily felt a sense of helplessness.
Darian looked at her, got out of bed, and walked over to hold her hand, but she turned and walked out.
Darian sighed as he watched her back.
Cecily went to the next room to wash up and change clothes. Downstairs, Griffin proudly handed his work to Cecily, "Mommy, I finished what you asked for."
"So fast." Cecily took the necklace Griffin handed over. It was still her necklace, but the pendant had been modified to include a tiny camera. It looked like an ordinary necklace with no difference.
"Mommy, look at this." Griffin opened the computer, and the video recorded by the tiny camera in the pendant appeared clearly on the screen.
Cecily looked at the computer and couldn't help but praise Griffin, "Thank you, baby. You've helped Mommy a lot."
Griffin smiled happily, "You're welcome, Mommy."
Cecily put the necklace around her neck. She had to save Vincent, and she would go to Eliza.
Darian stayed home all day. He didn't allow Cecily to go out, and he didn't go out either, just watching her at home.
Darian had sent people to find Eliza, but there was no news all day.
Cecily had messaged Eliza for her address yesterday, but she hadn't replied, being very cautious.
There was no news all day, and Cecily anxiously waited at home.
Soon, the whole day passed, and it was the next day, the last day Vincent could survive.
In the afternoon, Cecily couldn't wait any longer. Owen called Darian, saying there was something urgent. Darian had to go, but before leaving, he ordered Larkin to keep an eye on her at home.
Cecily knew her chance had come. She glanced at Larkin standing nearby.
Under Cecily's gaze, Larkin's expression became a bit shy, "Miss Cecily, why are you staring at me like that?"
"I'm going upstairs to sleep. Do you want to come with me?"
Larkin almost knelt in fright, "Miss Cecily, please go ahead. I'll stay downstairs."
Cecily raised an eyebrow, "Then I'm going upstairs?"
"Okay."
Cecily didn't hesitate or rush. She walked upstairs in the most normal manner, tied her hair into a high ponytail, and changed into clothes suitable for action.
Half an hour later.
"Miss Cecily jumped out of the window and ran away!" A shout came from the living room, and Larkin broke into a cold sweat.
When Cecily drove Darian's car out of the gate, the guards at the door hadn't reacted yet.
Cecily drove aimlessly until she saw a car following her. She gradually slowed down and soon found a secluded place to stop.
In the rearview mirror, she saw the car behind her stop, and a man she didn't recognize got out and walked toward her car.
Cecily sat quietly in the car.
Matthias looked at Cecily and sneered, "You're quite sensible. Eliza invites you; you can go in."
Cecily glanced at him lightly, "The antidote."
"Don't worry. As long as you see Eliza, she'll give you the antidote. Our target is you; we don't want to kill an unrelated person."
Cecily opened the car door and got out. Just as she was about to get into their car, Matthias stopped her, "Sorry, Miss Cecily, for Eliza's safety, we need to search you. You don't mind, do you?"
