Chapter 354 Eliza Blinded Herself.
When Darian's gaze fell on Cecily's eyes, a sharp pain spread through his heart.
Cecily leaned against Darian's chest, listening to his strong heartbeat, feeling inexplicably reassured.
She didn't know when she fell asleep, but when Cecily woke up the next morning, she reached out to the side.
There was no one there.
Cecily rubbed her head, "Darian?"
Perhaps due to her blindness, she now habitually looked for Darian when she opened her eyes.
A nurse walked in, "Miss Watson, Mr. Fitzgerald has gone to see the doctor."
"What did the doctor want to talk to him about?"
"Mr. Fitzgerald went to see the doctor himself. He wanted to learn professional techniques for dressing wounds. He even scared the doctor by complaining that he was teaching too slowly," the nurse said with a smile.
Cecily smiled faintly, recalling how he had said last night in the bathroom that he didn't want anyone else to see her body.
So today, he went to learn from the doctor.
Cecily shook her head helplessly.
She hadn't seen Darian all morning. She had originally planned to discuss with him when they would return to Silver Frost Capital.
At noon, Darian accompanied Cecily for lunch.
Cecily spoke, "Darian, let's go back to Silver Frost Capital tomorrow. I miss Rowan and Griffin, and you should return to work as well."
"I'll do as you say. What about your mother?"
"My mother will come to Silver Frost Capital in a few days. Vincent, no, now he's called Gary, was seriously injured. The doctor said he shouldn't be moved. They'll come together when he's better."
Darian had no objections. "Alright, I'll make the arrangements."
The next morning, Darian arranged for a private plane. Eliza, full of resentment, was escorted onto the plane, her mouth gagged so she couldn't say a word.
Vivienne looked at Cecily with concern and said, "Cecily, once I settle things here, I'll come to find you. Your eyes haven't healed yet, so be careful with everything."
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of her," Darian's voice was cold but firm.
Vivienne glanced at the expressionless Darian and nodded with relief, "Then I'll leave Cecily in your care."
Cecily said, "Mom, we're leaving now."
"Alright, go on."
Darian carried Cecily onto the plane. As the cabin door closed, Vivienne finally looked away. Bryan stood behind her, his voice deepening, "Why didn't you discuss going to Silver Frost Capital with me?"
"You didn't discuss bringing those two women to me, so why should I discuss everything with you?" Vivienne's face returned to its usual coldness.
"That's different."
"How is it different? You do things I don't like, and I do things you don't like. We're even."
Vivienne took a step to leave, but Bryan blocked her, "Can't we just talk properly?"
"Sorry, I really don't know how to talk to you properly."
Vivienne shook off his hand, "If you want to imprison me like before, go ahead and try. See if I won't hate you for the rest of my life."
With that, she left straight away.
Bryan's eyes grew even darker.
In the afternoon, Darian's private plane landed.
Darian sat to the side, looking at Cecily sleeping peacefully on the couch. His eyes were full of tenderness as he leaned down to kiss her forehead lightly.
Cecily hadn't been sleeping deeply, and the slight movement woke her up. "Have we arrived?" she asked.
"We're here. Let's get off the plane and go home."
Darian looked at her tenderly and reached out to help her up.
This added a layer of warmth to Cecily's heart, "Alright."
Eliza, escorted by two bodyguards, looked at them with resentment.
At this moment, all she could think about was that she wouldn't let them succeed.
If she couldn't have peace, no one else would either.
This thought consumed her, her eyes growing increasingly fierce.
As they were disembarking, she spotted a sharp corner nearby. Seizing the moment when the bodyguards were not paying attention, she used all her strength and recklessly crashed into it.
The bodyguards, seeing Eliza break free, shouted in shock.
A loud thud was followed by Eliza's agonizing scream.
The bodyguards immediately rushed to pull her up, and the sight made their scalps tingle.
The sharp object had pierced Eliza's eye, and blood was streaming down her face. She laughed maniacally, like a lunatic, making the bodyguards' hearts tighten.
"You want to use my eyes to restore Cecily's sight? Dream on! I'd rather destroy my own eyes than let you succeed."
"She's completely insane," one of the bodyguards muttered under his breath, his face tense.
Hearing the commotion, Darian put Cecily in the car and returned to see Eliza, who had destroyed her own eyes. His deep eyes narrowed fiercely.
"Boss, she..." The bodyguard lowered his head in fear, "It was our mistake. She took advantage of our momentary lapse and crashed into it. We didn't see it coming..."
Darian grabbed Eliza by the collar, his deep eyes boring into her as he gritted his teeth, "You want to die!"
Eliza, despite the pain, grinned crazily. "I told you I wouldn't let you succeed. Cecily will be blind for life. Blind for life!"
Darian clenched his jaw, looking at this madwoman, his eyes filled with rage.
Damn it.
"Take her to the hospital."
Eliza's eyes were ruined.
She was a lunatic, one who could be ruthless to herself.
"Cecily, you'll stay blind forever."
"If I suffer, none of you will have peace."
"If you have the guts, go ahead. Kill me!"
Cecily sat in the car, still able to hear Eliza's piercing screams.
She lowered her eyes. Though she couldn't see, she could tell what had happened from the sounds.
The car door opened, and Darian, exuding a cold aura, got in.
"Eliza's eyes are ruined?" Cecily asked in a calm voice.
Darian's face was tense.
Cecily placed her hand on Darian's clenched fist, comforting him, "Consider it her own doing. Don't be angry."
Darian took a deep breath, "I'll take you home first."
After taking Cecily home, Darian went straight to the hospital.
The condition of Eliza's eyes was still unknown.
If her eyes couldn't be saved, they would have to wait for a donation, which meant Cecily's recovery would be indefinitely delayed.
