Chapter 660 Don't Get So Close
The elevator doors slid open, and Cecily's eyes met Giselle's. With a slight nod, Cecily stepped out.
Giselle's hand tightened a bit as she followed. "I didn't mean anything by it. I just ran into you and got curious. If it bothered you, I'm sorry."
Cecily thought Giselle was pretty straightforward, which made her feel a bit unreasonable and petty.
Cecily stopped and said, "No, don't be. I'm not easy to get along with. If you say something that upsets me, I won't hold back. So, my words might hurt you. It's better to keep your distance."
Giselle stopped too and nodded. "You do seem a bit cold."
"Glad you noticed. So, no need to get too close. Besides, you're not the type to get close to others easily." Cecily had heard Giselle had a bad temper and was arrogant. Desmond mentioned Giselle was Hunter's only daughter and spoiled. Given the Bennett family's status, she didn't care about many people.
Cecily doubted Giselle would try to get close just because she was the eldest Bennett daughter. Giselle probably looked down on her, someone who had returned halfway through.
Cecily didn't like people approaching her with ulterior motives, so she kept her distance.
"But we're cousins, sharing half the same blood. Hunter said I should get closer to you," Giselle explained.
"When I came back, Hunter was almost fed up with me. Would he really let his beloved daughter get close to me?" Cecily shook her head and smiled.
During lunch, they had laid everything out, becoming competitors and adversaries. It was already good enough that Hunter didn't tell Giselle to stay away from her, let alone encourage her to get closer.
Cecily started walking outside.
She didn't walk fast, and Giselle, in her high heels, followed beside her. "No matter what, you are my cousin. I should get closer to you. Besides, we don't have many siblings in our family. Including Keaen's kids, there are only a few with blood ties. You shouldn't always be so cold."
Cecily responded, "Actually, my attitude depends on who it is."
Giselle was a bit exasperated. Cecily's words implied she wasn't like this to others, only to her!
When Cecily reached the door, Darian had already parked the car nearby and was waiting. His handsome face caught the attention of many passersby.
"Who is that guy? He's so handsome, even better than TV stars," someone said.
"His looks and aura totally crush all the celebrities online. I really want to ask for his contact info," another replied.
"Me too, me too. Anyone want to join?"
Darian, holding his phone, leaned casually against the car, looking down at emails, not noticing he was being surrounded.
Cecily saw this and shook her head, sighing softly. Darian's face always attracted attention.
A few girls gathered the courage to approach and ask for his contact info.
Hearing the commotion, Darian looked up, annoyed at being disturbed.
His cold gaze swept over them, and the girls instantly froze, their voices stammering, "Sir."
"Yes?" Darian's voice was icy.
"We wanted to..."
Before they could finish, Darian saw Cecily walking out. His expression immediately softened.
Cecily, leaning on one arm, lazily touched her chin, looking at Darian meaningfully.
Darian walked towards her and naturally took her hand. His voice was gentle, "Are you tired?"
Cecily nodded, "A bit, there was a lot to do."
"Let's go for dinner, then we can go home early to rest."
The girls around them, seeing this, deflated like balloons. "He has a girlfriend. Oh well, all the handsome men belong to someone else."
Listening to these words, Cecily smiled and shook her head, looking up at Darian. "Why do you always attract so much attention?"
"Do I?"
"Yes," Cecily told him clearly.
Before Cecily came out, Darian was looking at his phone. After she came out, his eyes never left her, so he didn't notice anyone else.
