Chapter373 He Now Has Another Woman
"Mommy, let's go inside quickly."
"Let's go." Cecily slightly lifted her skirt and walked in.
In another car, Jennifer and Freya got out one after the other.
Freya raised her chin high, like a noble princess. As she glanced sideways, she happened to see Cecily walking in.
"Mom, Cecily is here too!" Freya panicked instantly and tugged at Jennifer's arm.
Darian would be here tonight as well, and she was afraid Darian would see Cecily.
Jennifer glanced over, her eyes calm. "Freya, I've told you, if you haven't done anything wrong, there's no need to panic when you see Cecily. She lives in Silver Frost Capital, and you'll have plenty of chances to meet her in the future."
"It's not that, Mom. I'm afraid Darian will see her," said Freya.
Jennifer adjusted her skirt and said indifferently, "That's unavoidable. They will meet sooner or later. But Darian has forgotten her for a year and hasn't thought of her. Seeing her would be like seeing a stranger. What are you afraid of? Let's go."
Freya took a deep breath and nodded. "I understand."
Jennifer had just noticed Cecily's outfit and then looked at Freya, smiling.
Cecily's attire tonight was utterly unremarkable, incomparable to Freya's.
Jennifer grew more pleased and raised her hand to adjust Freya's skirt. "Freya, keep your spirits up. Don't forget, you are Darian's companion tonight, the most dazzling presence. Don't scare yourself and let others outshine you."
Freya nodded. After hours of dressing up, she knew she looked beautiful tonight and grew more confident. "Let's go, Mom."
They walked in, arm in arm.
Cecily led Rowan and Griffin into the party hall.
Tonight, she wore a dark blue velvet dress, her long hair draped over her shoulders, and delicate pearl earrings adorned her ears. Her perfect features bore light makeup.
Even though she didn't dress up deliberately, her smile always managed to catch people's eyes.
She lokked simple and elegant, yet dignified.
"I thought you weren't coming." Evander, in a formal suit, walked gracefully towards Cecily, a few smiles on his handsome face.
Cecily smiled. "I promised you, didn't I? How could I not come? Where's Aurelie? Has she arrived?"
"Haven't seen her. She's probably still on the way," answered Evander.
Cecily nodded and looked at the boys beside her. "Rowan and Griffin, say hello to Evander."
"Hello, Evander," they said in unison.
Evander reached out and gently touched their cheeks with his fingers. "You two have grown taller in a year."
"Evander has become even more handsome." Griffin had a really sweet talk.
Evander laughed pleasantly. "You guys haven't met my grandma yet, right? Come on, let me introduce you to her."
Cecily smiled and lifted her eyes. As she glanced sideways, her gaze met Darian's from a distance, and they both paused, as if in silent agreement.
Cecily's butterfly-like eyelashes fluttered slightly.
Darian stood tall and straight, his high-end suit impeccably pressed, his deep-set brows carrying their usual cold aloofness.
He looked at her expressionlessly, his deep eyes calm and indifferent. After a few seconds, he glanced away lightly.
He looked at her with the indifference of a stranger.
Cecily's eyes flickered with confusion, and just then, Declan, standing next to Darian, also noticed her.
Immediately, Declan's face filled with surprise, and he quickly nudged Hayden with his elbow.
They had been chatting and laughing, and Hayden had just downed a whole glass of red wine. As Declan nudged him twice in the stomach, he nearly choked. "Let me finish drinking! Wait, is that..."
Declan quickly covered Hayden's mouth and gestured for him to be quiet.
Cecily was already puzzled as to why Darian, having clearly seen her, acted as if he didn't recognize her. Seeing the strange behavior of the men beside him only deepened her confusion.
"Mommy, is that Daddy?" Griffin excitedly tugged at Cecily's hand.
"Mommy, why isn't Daddy looking at us?" Rowan also sensed something was wrong. Darian had clearly seen them but was ignoring them.
Cecily was about to step forward when she heard a low murmur behind her.
At the sound, many people turned to look.
Freya, in a red, form-fitting evening gown with a strapless design, perfectly showcased her fair collarbones and shoulders. As she walked, her long legs, accentuated by high heels, peeked through the high slit of her dress.
Her carefully styled wavy hair fell lazily over her shoulders, and her beautiful face bore exquisite makeup, with alluring red lips curved in a perfect smile.
Beside her, Jennifer wore a purple evening gown, draped with a luxurious brown mink shawl. Noticing all eyes on them, she lightly flicked her hair, her smile growing even more radiant.
Their overly glamorous attire made them particularly conspicuous. It seemed as if they wanted all eyes on them.
Freya looked at Jennifer. "Mom, look, everyone is staring at us."
"Didn't I tell you this dress looks great on you? It's definitely eye-catching," said Jennifer.
They glanced at Cecily ahead of them. Compared to their extravagant outfits, Cecily's conservative attire was indeed unremarkable.
"Who are they? I've never seen them before. Their outfits are a bit over the top..."
"Indeed, this is Mrs. Lockwood's birthday party. They're kind of stealing the spotlight."
"Especially that woman in red, baring her chest and back. Doesn't she know the occasion? Did she come to the wrong place?"
"Mom, I think they're talking about us," Freya whispered, overhearing the murmurs.
Jennifer smiled smugly. "Be confident. It's because you're so beautiful. They're all envious of you."
