Chapter 178 Darian Didn’t Mid Calling Ophelia Grandma

Owen glanced at Darian and said in a deep voice, "Darian! Let them leave."

"They can't leave."

"Let them leave!" Owen's weighty words echoed through the entire living room, and the atmosphere instantly dropped to zero.

Each person in the living room had a different expression while looking at the equally cold and chilling grandfather and grandson.

Darian frowned, "Do you really have to intervene in this matter?"

"I told you that if you couldn't handle it properly, I would handle it."

Darian narrowed his dark eyes, "The evidence is conclusive. Everyone needs to be responsible for their own actions."

"What about this woman?" Owen glared fiercely at Cecily.

Darian remained unfazed, "She deserves it. If it were me, I would do the same."

By "she," he naturally meant Ophelia.

Owen's face darkened, and his eyes stared deeply at Darian. Seeing that Darian was determined not to let Ophelia go, he angrily said, "Come with me."

Owen stood up and walked upstairs.

Sandra saw this and reached out to pull Darian, saying, "Darian, your grandpa is getting old. Don't anger him."

"He's the one angering me."

Sandra was speechless.

In the study.

Owen snorted angrily, looking at his favorite grandson with anger in his eyes. "Do you have to oppose me for that woman constantly?"

Darian stood still and, in a low voice, said, "It has nothing to do with her. You know who is right and wrong in this matter. She touched someone she shouldn't have, and there should be consequences."

"Ophelia did so much because she loves you. Moreover, what did Cecily do to Ophelia? You know deep down that she should also be held accountable," Owen said.

Darian pursed his lips with a deep expression on his face.

"If you allow it, you can send me in as well," Darian said.

"Darian!" Owen angrily rebuked. "I think you've gone mad. Look at what you're saying."

Darian's face remained unchanged. "I am very clear-headed."

"Clear-headed? If you were clear-headed, you wouldn't say such things," Owen angrily pointed at Darian. "No matter what you say today, you can't touch Ophelia."

"There's no room for negotiation in this matter," Darian said firmly.

Ophelia had repeatedly crossed the line, again and again. If it weren't for his guilt toward her from before, how could Darian tolerate this?

"Hmph," Owen coldly snorted. "Alright then, if you touch Ophelia, don't blame me for going after Cecily and her two children."

Darian's eyes narrowed coldly.

Owen sat down on the sofa, leaning on his cane. He looked up at Darian and said, "You can say that you will protect her, but can you protect her forever? How can you be so sure that you won't have moments of negligence? As long as you can afford the consequences, I'll let you do as you please."

Darian's hand clenched tightly at his side, and a chilling intent filled his eyes. "Don't you think you are too shameless like this?"

"Shameless? No, Darian, I wanted to find a better solution to this situation. I couldn't let Cecily affect our relationship with the Flores family," Darian's editor said.

"I have a solution here; would you like to hear it?"

Darian's editor raised an eyebrow. "If I let Ophelia go, you won't touch Cecily?"

"Correct," Owen nodded. "We'll each step back. After all, Cecily did hurt Ophelia, so it evens out and benefits everyone."

Darian furrowed his brow, considering his options carefully. "I hope you'll follow through on your words."

"You can trust me on this," Owen assured him.

Darian didn't want to continue the conversation with Owen any longer and turned to leave the study.

"Wait," Owen called out to him.

"What now?" Darian asked.

Owen looked at Darian and asked, "When do you plan to marry Ophelia?"

Darian coldly laughed upon hearing this and turned to face Owen. "I have already been generous enough to let her go. Marrying her? Absolutely impossible."

Owen furrowed his brow. "This matter was decided before, and besides, she was carrying your child. Don't you want to take responsibility?"

Darian sneered, his eyes filled with coldness. "Grandpa, I have already paid my dues for that night five years ago."

For the past five years, he had constantly helped the Flores family, even stepping in to handle their problems.

He had already repaid his debts.

Owen stared deeply at Darian and spoke with an unquestionable tone, "I don't care what you say. This matter has already been settled. You can only marry Ophelia."

Darian raised an eyebrow. "I will not marry her again. If you want to marry her, go ahead. I won't mind calling her 'grandmother'."

"You!" Owen choked, standing up in a fit of anger and nearly fainting from the built-up frustration in his chest.

Darian glanced at Owen and walked over to the drawer, taking out a bottle of quick-acting heart medication and placing it in front of Owen. Without looking back, he walked out.

"You bastard, come back here! You've infuriated me, infuriated me..." Owen grabbed the bottle of pills and hurled it at Darian.

Darian walked away too quickly and wasn't hit by it.

Noticing the commotion inside, Sawyer, the butler who had returned to the country with Owen, immediately approached Owen and patted him on the back to comfort him.

"Owen, please calm down. Whatever you have to say, say it to Mr. Fitzgerald properly. Don't let anger affect your health."

"He...he actually dared to defy me for a woman. Just as I suspected, Cecily is just as troublesome as her mother. A disaster, a disaster!" Owen covered his chest with one hand and angrily pounded the table with the other.

...

Darian walked downstairs with a cold expression, and Ophelia and the other two were not allowed to leave without Darian's permission. The bodyguards kept them in.

Darian's gaze fell on Cecily, who had a cold complexion.

Cecily happened to look up, and their eyes suddenly met.

Darian had promised Cecily that he would give her an explanation about this matter but at this moment...

"Darian?" Ophelia looked at Darian with a pitiful expression, hoping for his mercy.

Darian's cold eyes swept toward Ophelia like a sharp sword.

Ophelia's heart raced as he remained silent.

"Larkin."

"Here," Larkin immediately stepped forward, "Mr. Fitzgerald."

"Announce to the media that the engagement between the Fitzgerald Family and Flores Family is canceled."

"Yes."

"Wait!" Ophelia rushed forward without thinking, "Darian, are you breaking the engagement with me? I don't want that; I don't want it. I still want to be your bride; you can't reject me."
