Chapter 536 Bryan Knows All the Truth
Cecily looked at Sam, the phone in her hand still connected, and the conversation here could be clearly heard on the other end.
"No," Vivienne refused immediately.
Cecily also rejected it, saying, "You should go back. We don't want to see him."
Sam forced a smile. "Mr. Whitaker figured you wouldn't want to see him, so..."
Sam stepped aside, and two bodyguards pushed Bryan's mobile hospital bed into the ward.
Cecily opened her mouth, her gaze meeting Bryan's eyes on the bed.
Doubting his illness, Cecily was surprised to find Bryan having himself delivered to her, sickbed included.
Just like that, he brazenly entered her ward.
Cecily was staying in a VIP ward, which was large enough to accommodate two beds without feeling crowded.
"Who allowed you to come in?" Cecily asked, her brows furrowed tightly.
"Get out."
"I have something to say to you and Vivienne." Bryan had not yet recovered, his voice still hoarse.
Cecily gripped the blanket tightly, emotions surging in her eyes. "Do we have to listen? Who do you think you are? Do you think everyone has to obey your orders?"
Cecily was furious. Bryan knew they wouldn't go to see him, so he had his hospital bed transported over. So shameless.
Vivienne, on the other end of the phone, heard them talking and became anxious, immediately saying, "I'm coming over now."
With that, Vivienne hung up the phone and. Despite her weak body, she headed to the hospital.
Cecily looked at Bryan coldly. "Are you going to leave on your own, or should I have someone escort you out?"
Bryan seemed determined to be shameless, showing no intention of leaving.
"I just want to ask you a question, and then I'll leave. Was the paternity test from last night real or fake?"
Cecily thought she had misheard upon hearing that.
He was asking her if the paternity test from last night was real or fake?
What a ridiculous question.
Did he think they had given him a fake paternity test report to deceive him?
Last night, he was calling himself a Dad repeatedly, and today, he came to ask her such an absurd question, leaving Cecily stunned and speechless.
Bryan's gaze turned serious as he locked his eyes on Cecily even showing a bit of anger from feeling deceived!
Yes, it was anger!
Cecily finally understood. He wasn't really asking, but he was fishing for confirmation
Cecily couldn't describe her emotions at that moment.
In the end, Cecily laughed out of anger.
She pointed at Sam, saying to Bryan, "He's your son, and those two bodyguards at the door are your sons. 'Everyone in the world' is your son or daughter, but I can never be your daughter. Are you satisfied?"
"Please get out of my ward," Cecily said, fearing that if he stayed a second longer, she would explode.
Bryan could sense the anger in Cecily's words.
However, everything last night was designed by Vivienne, and they couldn't refute that.
Freya couldn't have single-handedly carried a whole gas can into the Bennett Manor, found Cecily's room, and set the place ablaze without a hitch. Even a top assassin couldn't have done it so flawlessly.
When Vivienne arrived, only Cecily was in the room, sitting in a chair, holding her head with a frown.
"Where did Bryan go?" Vivienne walked to Cecily's side.
"I kicked him out."
"What did he say?" Vivienne asked.
"He was delirious and crazy."
Vivienne blinked dryly. She was anxious because she knew Bryan could figure out that everything was planned, and his sudden visit was not a good sign.
Afraid that Vivienne would get angry, Cecily didn't say more.
However, Vivienne couldn't stand it. She turned to find Bryan, and Cecily couldn't stop her, and Vivienne wouldn't allow her to follow.
The door to Bryan's ward was suddenly pushed open. He knew Vivienne would come. He was waiting for her. "You're here."
"Sam, leave us," Vivienne said coldly. "I want to talk to him alone."
Sam glanced at Bryan. Upon receiving a nod of approval, he immediately left, closing the door behind him.
Vivienne's imposing manner was overwhelming, making Sam afraid to breathe heavily.
"Sit down." Bryan looked at Vivienne. Despite being angry about last night's setup, all his anger disappeared after he saw Vivienne, leaving only deep affection in his eyes.
Even though he knew Vivienne was here to confront him, he was happy she came to see him.
"Are you here to see me? I'm fine, and I just hurt my leg. The doctor said it would heal," he said, forcing a pale smile.
Bryan's voice remained humble as he spoke to Vivienne.
He was the one who forcefully kept Vivienne by his side.
Yet he was always the humble one.
Vivienne stood by the bed, not responding to Bryan's words.
Bryan didn't mind and continued, "You look good today, just thinner."
"Seeing you all punished makes me happy, so naturally, I look good." Vivienne's voice remained cold.
But Bryan didn't know that Vivienne looked good because she had put on some makeup at home to cover her pale face. Otherwise, she would look worse than anyone.
"So, are you satisfied?" Bryan smiled. "If not, there's a fruit knife over there. Stab me a few more times to vent your anger, as long as it makes you feel better."
Vivienne stared at Bryan without moving. "It will dirty my hands."
Hearing this, Bryan smiled faintly.
"If I had died in the fire, would that have made you happy?"
Vivienne's lips trembled, "I would definitely celebrate."
Bryan smiled again, he used to Vivienne's cold attitude towards him.
"So, your entire elaborate plan was solely aimed at seeking revenge against Freya and me? The fabrication of the paternity test and everything were all designed to corner me into a choice between saving Cecily and witnessing Freya's devastation. And after I rescued this fake Cecily, you would have cruelly revealed that it was all a lie – the fire, the rescue, even my own daughter, all fake. This was nothing but a game to you, designed to make us suffer. Was that your plan all along?"
