Chapter 695 Discovering Giselle's Malicious Intentions
"I really didn't mean it. How about I buy you a new outfit?" Imogen said apologetically.
Rowan patted his clothes and said seriously, "No need."
"Sorry about that," Imogen apologized again.
Aurelie squatted down to check if Rowan was hurt. After confirming that Rowan was fine and only had some wine spilled on his clothes, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Come on, I'll take you to find Cecily," Aurelie said, leading Rowan and Griffin away.
Behind them, Imogen and Cecilia exchanged a triumphant smile and walked back to Giselle. The three of them shared a knowing look, and Giselle nodded approvingly. "Well done."
Imogen, pleased with the compliment, smiled even more ingratiatingly. "Giselle, just wait. They'll definitely be embarrassed tonight."
Giselle chuckled, thinking, 'Cecily, let's see how you handle this.'
Aurelie took Rowan and Griffin to find Cecily. Sensing that the earlier incident wasn't so simple, Aurelie recounted everything that had happened to Cecily in detail.
Cecily frowned when she saw the wine stain on Rowan's clothes.
Was it just a coincidence? Twisting an ankle and spilling wine on Rowan?
Cecily squatted down and carefully examined Rowan's clothes. Sure enough, she found something in Rowan's pocket.
She pulled it out and saw it was a beautiful diamond ring.
"How did this end up on Rowan?" Griffin asked, eyes wide.
"Mommy, I don't know how this diamond ring got on me," Rowan said.
Cecily chuckled and exchanged a glance with Aurelie, who also smiled wryly. "Giselle really will do anything to embarrass you."
The appearance of this ring on Rowan meant they were likely about to stage a scene where the diamond ring goes missing, everyone searches for it, and it's ultimately found on Rowan, accusing Rowan of stealing it and humiliating her in front of everyone.
Cecily held the diamond ring in her palm. She hadn't wanted to clash with Giselle tonight, so when someone mediated at the hotel entrance, she let it go.
But now, Giselle not only wanted to frame her but also her son. She wouldn't let that slide.
Cecily reassured Rowan, "It's okay; leave it to Mommy. Let's stay with Aurelie for a while."
Cecily called a bodyguard and handed him the diamond ring. "Go to the Bennett Mansion and find Desmond. Ask him to get a ring from my jewelry box that looks similar to this one and bring it here quickly."
The bodyguard immediately followed Cecily's orders.
Half an hour later, the bodyguard returned with a ring almost identical to the original and handed both rings to Cecily.
Cecily examined the two rings. Without a close look, they were indistinguishable, but each ring had a unique band size, which she could easily tell apart.
Cecily pulled Rowan in front of her and placed the ring back in his pocket. "Rowan, listen to Mommy. Do exactly as I say, okay?"
Rowan nodded obediently. "Okay, Mommy."
Griffin, sensing something exciting, looked on with sparkling eyes. "What are you going to do, Mommy?"
"Mommy is going to make those who framed us reap what they sow," Cecily said.
Griffin's face lit up with excitement. Tonight wouldn't be boring after all.
Cecily stood up, glanced at the ring in her palm, and her eyes turned cold.
She hadn't wanted to make a scene, but if someone insisted, she would play along.
Walking towards Giselle, Giselle straightened up with her wine glass when she saw Cecily approaching. "Cecily."
Cecily smiled slightly. "Aren't you going to explain what happened outside?"
Giselle asked in confusion, "What do you want me to explain? Wasn't it already clarified? It was just a misunderstanding."
"We both know whether it was a misunderstanding," Cecily said, smiling faintly at Giselle.
Everyone had seen what happened outside. The Vasquez family didn't want to offend anyone, so they claimed the hotel staff had mistaken the invitation.
Giselle sneered, "So what? Do you want to bring it up again and make a fuss?"
Cecily sighed and moved closer to Giselle. "Giselle, I've told you many times, I don't mind trouble. If you don't mind the embarrassment, neither do I."
Giselle sneered inwardly, 'The only one embarrassed tonight will be you.'
"Cecily, I don't want to fight with you. I want to coexist peacefully," Giselle said.
Seeing Giselle's hypocritical expression, Cecily squinted in disdain. After a few days of interaction, she could see through Giselle's malicious intentions.
Without saying more, Cecily stepped back. "We can't coexist peacefully. Take care of yourself, or you'll end up harming yourself."
Cecily was giving Giselle one last chance.
Giselle, with a look of disdain and a fake smile, said, "You should really worry about yourself."
Cecily smiled and nodded. Giselle's schemes weren't sophisticated, just attempts to embarrass her and elevate herself through comparison.
Cecily smiled and turned to leave. The ring she had held in her palm was now gone.
If Giselle wanted to play tricks, Cecily didn't mind letting her face the consequences.
Cecily returned to Aurelie and the others. "Alright, let's go."
Seeing Cecily about to leave, Giselle signaled to Imogen and Cecilia, who nodded in understanding.
As Cecily and the children reached the door, Imogen's panicked voice rang out from the crowd, "Where's my ring?"
"What ring?"
"The ring I always wear—it was my mother's, my favorite, and very meaningful. It was just on my finger, and now it's gone," Imogen said, her voice filled with panic.
