Chapter 396 Pushing Them to Have Sexual Relations
Sawyer stood motionless, drenched in sweat.
After a moment, Owen waved his hand and said nothing more. "You may go. I have no idea either."
Sawyer's eyes flickered slightly. He nodded and turned to leave.
Owen watched Sawyer's retreating figure, his gaze deep and contemplative.
Outside at that moment.
Cecily was just about to go downstairs when a sharp voice rang out behind her. Aurelia, with a face mask still on, rushed towards Cecily. "Cecily, how dare you come here. You got Victor kicked out of the group by Darian and went against Freya. You despicable woman!"
Aurelia raised her hand to push Cecily, but Cecily was quick and grabbed Aurelia's arm as it reached for her shoulder.
"Let go of me, you bitch!"
Aurelia struggled to pull her hand back.
Cecily glanced at her arm and raised an eyebrow. "Stop acting crazy, or you'll get wrinkles."
"You." Aurelia yanked her hand back and said, "You bitch, you ruined Victor and you're finished. We won't let you off."
"Aurelia." Sandra emerged from the elevator. "She is Darian's wife. You keep calling her names. Do you think Darian and I are easy to bully?"
Aurelia sneered, hands on her hips. "Aunt Sandra, have you forgotten? She and Darian are divorced."
"I said she is Darian's wife, and so she is. If you have a problem, take it up with me and Darian. Also, it was Darian who ordered your brother to be kicked out of the Fitzgerald Group. If you have the guts, go argue with him. You don't dare confront Darian, so you take it out on Cecily. Bullying the weak and fearing the strong. When did the Fitzgerald family teach you to be like this?"
"Mrs. Sandra, I think sitting in that wheelchair has addled your brain. That day at the group, she deliberately provoked Victor when he was drunk."
"Drunken words are sober thoughts. What Victor said while drunk must have been what he harbored in his heart but didn't dare to say. It's his own fault for being incompetent and ambitious. By the way, he's drinking during work hours. Victor is really something." Sandra sneered.
Unable to out-argue Sandra, Aurelia gritted her teeth, her eyes flashing with resentment between them.
"Miss Aurelia, Jennifer and Freya have arrived," a servant announced.
"Show them in," Aurelia said, casting a glance at Cecily. "I heard from Freya that you got Darian to fire her, and your mother wants Freya's father to kick her out of the house. How can you be so vicious?"
Sandra couldn't bear to listen to Aurelia's venomous words any longer and was about to speak when Cecily stopped her. Looking at Aurelia, Cecily said calmly, "Yes, I'm vicious. What are you going to do about it?"
"So you admit it."
Cecily didn't want to engage further and pushed Sandra into the elevator.
"Cecily, I'm not done talking. Stop right there."
Aurelia was completely ignored by Cecily.
"Are you just going to let Aurelia talk about you like that?"
Sandra glanced sideways at Cecily. She hadn't realized Cecily had such a good temper before.
"There's no point in arguing. Winning won't change anything. It's better to save my breath."
Sandra smiled faintly. "You've become quite serene."
"Otherwise, I'd just be exhausting myself. It's not worth it for people like them."
Sandra nodded in agreement and said, "You're right. What were you talking to Owen about just now?"
"Nothing much, just some past matters."
"Owen agreed not to stand in the way of you and Darian. You must have used some method."
The elevator reached the ground floor, and Cecily pushed Sandra's wheelchair out. "I just made Owen see some things he was previously kept in the dark about."
Sandra's eyes dimmed. "Is it about Patrick?"
Sandra gave a bitter smile. "You don't have to hide everything from me. I'm not a fool. I've seen some things in this family. I'm just afraid Darian might be in danger. Cecily, he's my only son."
Sandra might not say much, but that didn't mean she was unaware of many things.
Confined to her wheelchair, there were too many matters she was powerless to influence, so she pretended ignorance, hoping not to add to the chaos.
Cecily placed a hand on Sandra's shoulder and gently patted it. "The matter is being investigated. The truth about Mr. Patrick's death will come to light, and I'll remind Darian to be cautious."
Sandra placed her hand on Cecily's and said, "Thank you, Cecily. I now hope that you will be the one to spend the rest of your life with Darian."
Cecily smiled serenely, her gaze shifting to the people entering with Aurelia.
Sandra followed Cecily's gaze, her expression darkening.
She truly disliked Jennifer and Freya.
Two women who always sought to live off men, constantly scheming to steal others' husbands. Even if Freya were Bryan's biological daughter, Sandra would still disapprove of her conduct.
"Mrs. Sandra, Cecily is here too," Freya said, her eyes lightly falling on Cecily.
"Freya, why are you still speaking so nicely to this bitch? She's jealous of you being around Darian and got you fired."
"Aurelia, it's not Cecily's fault. It must be something I didn't do well."
"Don't speak for her. This bitch is the most malicious." Aurelia, holding Freya's hand, looked at Cecily with disdain and snorted.
"Aurelia, watch your mouth!"
A voice came from the doorway. Aurelia saw the drunken Victor returning and quickly approached him. "Victor, why are you drunk again?"
Victor ignored Aurelia, his bleary eyes fixed on Cecily as he staggered towards her. Sandra stepped in front of Cecily, warily eyeing Victor. "What do you want?"
Victor sneered, ignoring Sandra, and stared at Cecily. "You schemed against me? Well done!" He gave Cecily a thumbs-up.
"What did I scheme against you?" Cecily looked at Victor without a trace of fear.
"You think just because I fancy you, you can provoke me into saying those things in the lobby?"
"Yeah, you shameless bitch, clinging to Darian while seducing Victor. I'll take this to Grandpa," Aurelia shouted even more arrogantly, standing beside Victor.
Seeing the heated argument, Jennifer quietly pulled Freya into a corner.
Jennifer, observing the scene, whispered, "What's going on between Victor and Cecily?"
Freya smiled and said, "I heard at the company this morning that Victor was pestering Cecily yesterday and said some inappropriate things, which angered Darian and got him kicked out of the Fitzgerald Group."
"Is that so?" Jennifer raised an eyebrow. "So, Victor likes Cecily?"
Freya gritted her teeth. "It's all because of that bitch's seductive face."
A calculating look flashed in Jennifer's eyes. "Maybe we have a way."
"What?"
"If Cecily and Victor were to have an affair, would Darian still want her?"
Freya's eyes lit up instantly. "Mom, you mean..."
"Yes, keep your voice down."
Freya's eyes gleamed with excitement.
Jennifer sighed. "It's a pity we didn't prepare anything today, otherwise..."
"I have it," Freya said, opening her bag slightly.
Jennifer glanced inside and pressed her hand down, puzzled. "Why do you have it in your bag?"
Freya's anger flared. "I originally intended to use it on Darian, but when I went to the company today, I was told I was fired. Now, it can be used on Cecily. Let's see if Darian will still want her after Victor rapes her."
