Chapter 488 Exchange Cecily for Freya

Just as Bryan was thinking about how to save Freya, two more messages popped up on his phone.

They were from the kidnappers using Freya's phone. He opened it and saw a video.

Freya's hands and feet were tied, and she was thrown into a big glass fish tank. She couldn't swim and was struggling in fear. The water had turned blood red.

Next to the tank was a table with a row of knives, the most noticeable being a blood-stained whip.

Freya struggled helplessly, and just when she was about to drown, they pulled her out, continuing to torture her without letting her die.

"Dad, help, help," Freya's weak voice pleaded, her eyes half-closed.

Bryan's heart shattered as he watched the video.

Freya was his beloved daughter, and this video was like a knife to his heart.

The kidnappers also sent a cruel message.

[If you want your daughter to live, send the person over quickly. You have two hours. During these two hours, we won't stop torturing her. We can guarantee she'll be alive for two hours, but after that, no promises.]

Bryan's hand clenched the phone, veins bulging.

These people were monsters.

When Bryan tried to call back, the number was already unreachable.

They wouldn't use that number again to avoid being tracked.

The video showed white walls, making it impossible to pinpoint Freya's location.

Two hours.

He had to choose between Cecily and Freya.

Freya looked like she wouldn't last two hours. He couldn't imagine the torture she was enduring. She must be terrified.

Bryan's palms were drenched in cold sweat. He couldn't bear to think about what would happen if he couldn't save Freya in time.

It seemed impossible to find the kidnappers or save Freya in such a short time.

So, he really had no choice in this matter.

Sam searched everywhere but couldn't find Freya, so he quickly returned to report to Bryan. Sam was puzzled when he saw Bryan's grim expression. "Sir, I searched everywhere but couldn't find Miss Cruz. Could she have gone back?"

Bryan didn't respond. He stood there with a dark expression, looking as if he was making an incredibly difficult decision.

Sam had never seen Bryan like this.

The atmosphere was heavy.

"Sir."

"Go get Cecily."

After a long pause, Bryan's hoarse voice finally broke the silence, filled with exhaustion and helplessness.

Saying that seemed to drain all his energy.

Sam had just seen Cecily and replied, "Sir, I just saw Miss Watson. She's already gotten in the car to go home."

Bryan gritted his teeth, took a deep breath, and rushed out.

Two hours—no time to waste.

He moved so fast he didn't even notice Vivienne passing by.

"Why the hurry?" Vivienne frowned as Bryan bumped into her.

Vivienne sensed something was wrong when she saw the heaviness in Bryan's eyes .

Bryan felt a deep sense of guilt. He was about to trade Cecily for Freya. If Vivienne found out, she'd probably want to kill him—and he'd deserve it.

Vivienne would never agree to this, so he couldn't tell her. He didn't dare to.

He knew Vivienne would see him as an enemy forever and would never forgive him.

Guilt and hesitation surged in his heart, but Bryan kept telling himself that once he found the kidnappers and saved Freya, he'd do everything to save Cecily too.

The hesitation faded as he repeated it to himself.

He just wanted to use this chance to find the kidnappers, save Freya, and not give up on Cecily.

Cecily had skills and could protect herself, unlike Freya, who was defenseless.

Freya's situation was more dangerous. Even if his plan failed, Cecily had many people who cared about her and would save her. Only he could save Freya. If he didn't, she'd surely die.

After weighing the pros and cons, Bryan looked at Vivienne without showing any emotion.

"Cecily went back. Why are you still here?"

Vivienne glanced at Bryan, then checked the time. "The funeral isn't over. It's not good for everyone to leave. Cecily wasn't feeling well, so I let her go back first."

"Okay." Bryan's expression was uneasy. He had once hoped to talk more with Vivienne, but now he didn't dare. "I have something to do, so I'm leaving."

After a moment of silence, Vivienne nodded.

As they passed each other, Bryan's heart was filled with guilt, remorse, and pain.

He looked back at Vivienne, feeling the urge to tell her the truth, but Freya's desperate cries and blood-soaked image stopped him.

In the end, only one thought remained: 'I need to save Freya, I must save her.

As he stood there, watching Vivienne disappear from sight, he silently said in his heart, 'Vivienne, I'm sorry.'

Vivienne was ruthless. Jennifer and Freya had harmed Cecily, so she had driven Jennifer to her death.

Today, he would be the bad guy. Maybe one day she wouldn't spare him either.

Bryan pressed his pale lips together and quickly left.
