Chapter 339 Her Eyes Were Left Behind

Listening to Darian finish speaking, I was momentarily stunned and couldn't find words to say. An indescribable joy and shock surged in my heart.

Had my mother returned?!

The news came so suddenly that I was ecstatic. I had longed to see her again for so many years, and now that she had really returned, I felt a bit at a loss.

"Really? Does she look well?"

Darian silently curved his lips, "She looks good."

"I want to go to the Bennett family tomorrow. Can you take me?"

I was eager to see Vivienne, wanting to see her immediately. Of course, I also wanted to go to the party to see the results in person—no, to hear the results in person. This matter had been dragging on for so long that it was finally coming to an end.

"No." Darian refused decisively, without any hesitation. Without asking why, I knew it was because I still had injuries, so he wouldn't let me go out. But most of my injuries were from being scratched by branches or falling and scraping myself. Vincent was throwing the worst; it really hurt, rolling twice, and my lower back was directly scratched by broken branches on the ground.

Besides these, I currently couldn't see.

"Darian, I feel pretty good now, especially after just eating oatmeal. I feel full of energy."

Darian stood up with a stern face, pulling my hand back into the bed, "Really? So effective, anyone who didn't know would think you ate a magic pill."

"I really..."

"You really have so much energy. Should we do something else?"

I pursed my lips, not needing to see to imagine the expression on Darian's handsome face when he said this.

"Are you serious?"

"What?"

"I'm like this, and you still want to do something else? Pervert." I muttered.

Darian's tense expression softened a bit, his lips curling into a slight smile, "I want you to get up and walk a bit, burn some energy. Does that make me inhuman?"

"You mean walking?"

"What else?"

"I..." A blush appeared on my face.

"What did you think I meant?"

Sure enough, when I got sick, my brain slowed down. I pouted and coughed lightly, "It's all your fault."

"My fault for what?"

"You're too perverted."

"You usually take advantage of me act like a pervert, so in my mind, you're quite lecherous. You said that, I misunderstood, very normal." Since I couldn't see now, I spoke boldly, righteously pushing everything onto him. Because he often said such things before, I misunderstood immediately.

"Just admit it. Is this true or not?"

Darian wanted to laugh, but thinking of my eyes, he couldn't, "Admit it, even if I'm lecherous, love taking advantage of you, love being a pervert, it's all my fault. You sleep, I'll reflect, okay?"

"Then take me tomorrow."

"You sleep first."

I pursed my lips, my pink lips tightly pressed in distress. Darian seemed to see through the gauze to my watery eyes. He hesitated. Fine, I won.

"Okay, as long as you don't have a fever tomorrow and your body condition allows, I'll take you out for a while."

"Really?"

"I won't lie to you."

I smiled, nodding, "Okay."

"Sleep, I'll stay with you." Darian reached out and gently smoothed my hair spread on the pillow. My strength had just recovered a bit, so I couldn't hold on for long and soon fell asleep.

Darian looked at the sleeping me, his eyes full of tenderness. He leaned over and gently kissed my brow, cherishing me like the most precious treasure. He sat quietly with me for a while, then got up and walked out.

Outside, Larkin was still guarding the door. Seeing Darian come out, Larkin slightly bowed, "Boss."

Darian nodded, his gaze falling on Blaise leaning against the wall. Blaise was playing with a metal lighter, the warm flame reflecting on his handsome face, but his expression remained indifferent.

"How is she?"

"Her injuries have been treated."

"I meant her eyes." Blaise turned his head, his sharp gaze falling on Darian's face. The atmosphere fell silent for a moment. Distracted by the two handsome men standing at the door, a passing nurse accidentally bumped into the wall, dropping the metal tray in her hand and making a sudden noise.

Darian and Blaise both frowned.

Darian looked at the nurse, "Please be careful. My wife is resting."

The nurse immediately apologized and fled in panic.

Darian sighed, "Her corneal tissue is severely damaged. It can't be treated. She can only have a corneal transplant."

Blaise extinguished the lighter's flame with his fingertips, his eyes growing colder. If a corneal transplant was needed, they would have to wait for a donor, and who knew how long that would take. If no donor was found, I would remain blind.

After a few seconds of silence, Blaise laughed mockingly, his gaze turning sinister, "Looks like those eyes were left behind for a reason."

Darian knew what he was thinking. Eliza had to pay.

"Boss." Larkin stepped forward to report, "Owen called two hours ago looking for you."

Darian knew too well why Owen was looking for him, "Ignore him."

"And another thing, Owen sent people to search the house's computer, seems to be looking for Miss Cecily's video."

Darian frowned. Owen had been helping Eliza before, and he had already noticed, so it wasn't surprising now.

"Let him be." Darian walked back into the room.

I still couldn't adapt to this feeling in the darkness, just waking up.

"Awake." Darian's magnetic voice, like a cello, sounded beside me.

I moved my arm, "Is it morning?"

"Yes, it's eight in the morning."

"Did you stay with me all night?" I tried to sit up, accidentally pulling my wound, my body trembling slightly.

Darian reached out to support me, placing two pillows behind my back, and touched my forehead, "No, I slept for a while. I'll call someone to take your temperature." Actually, he hadn't slept a minute, staying up all night.

I couldn't see, so I couldn't tell if he was telling the truth.

Soon, the doctor and nurse came in. I cooperated with the doctor's examination and asked, "Doctor, how long will it take for my eyes to recover?"
